There are two dog parks here that are very nice. There's one that's super busy and has a place for smaller dogs to go. Right across the way is the less busy one for those people who have dogs who are a bit anti social. There's water for the dogs and trash bags go pick up poop. My small complaint is the dog owners who go here. A lot of them let their dogs physically bite or swipe in a non playful ways and others do not pick up their dog's poop. Besides those two complaints I continue to bring my dog here because she loves running around and making friends. read more

The great flood of 2018 subsided and we finally got our rambunctious 75lb puppy back to the dog park! Needless to say, the location of this park causes floods every now and then when the Little Miami rises but it's wonderful when it's open. The dog park is split into 4 locations. Two big/medium fields, one field for smaller dogs under 22lbs and across the street is a small fenced area if your dog is being unruly and needs a time out by themselves. For the most part people clean up after their dogs but we do usually come across some piles, unfortunately. That's the only reason I'm knocking this park a star. There are a few boxes with poop bags but they're widespread. It'd be nice to have more bag boxes. Each big field has a few benches and a water fountain. As you leave, you'll find one more water spicket to wash off with. Sometimes this park can get suuuuuper muddy. Pro tip: add yourself to the Otto Armleder Dog Park FB group to get updates from other dog parents about field conditions. read more

There are 2 large areas for dogs to run around here. Our dog Zelda loves this (if you see a 3 legged blonde dog come say hello, she loves everyone). There is a decent amount of shaded area for the dogs and lots of area to run and play. There are fountains and bowls for the animals to drink from. Minus a star because it does get buddy over by the bowls and pretty bad when it rains. The park does flood pretty badly when there are heavy rains but overall our pupper loves it here. read more

Full disclosure: I'm not a dog owner. I had my BF's dog for the day while he handled some family business. After we left the office I brought him down here since it's close to my house. I invited my friend and her dog but I was not aware there was a small dog and big dog area so we had to talk to each other through the fence. This park is HUGE. I've heard this floods and gets muddy and I can understand that a trip here can make for a messy dog. Thankfully, it was nice and dry when we went. There were so many dogs and my buddy had a good time running a playing. Dog owners did a good job of looking after their dogs and I only noticed one scuffle. I should also add people do a decent job of picking up after their pets and I only noticed one wayward poop pile. However, I did noticed people placed their poop bags on the fence which I thought was a little weird a gross. I was very happy to notice a walking path that I believe dogs are allowed on. Tyler (the dog) needs exercise I plan to bring him back for a nice walk. Our night in the big dog area was enough to wear him out! read more

For free public dog park, it is not bad at all. I am shocked on how clean it is. The only thing I don't trust is the other dogs not being treated/updated on their shots. I do have to keep a closer eye on my dog more than I do at Wags Park. But I do have to admit, but that my dog likes it here better. It's really big and roomy. Great big dog park! Elvis and I have been here many times now and always have had a lot of fun. He loves to run around and see all the people more than anything else. It consists of two large dog parks attached to each other and the clean up area at the canopy. There is also another area across the street where you can take your dog. From my experience there is usually only two of the areas open at a time. There is also a few muddy puddles so if your dog is into it you may be giving your dog a bath later. Unfortunately, for us its a bit of a drive but my boy is always happy to go for the ride. read more

Anyone who knows me understands that I'd rather spend time with my dog than with most people and, thus, my dog is super spoiled. He also is a barrel of energy so we make frequent trips to the dog park. Otto Armleger is by far his favorite. Every single Saturday morning, the little monster knows where he is going, and he cannot even control himself. So the dog park is HUGE. Enormous. And I really like that because you can always keep your dog away from the dogs that are inevitably causing all the problems. Plenty of space for all the different personalities to have their fun. And while they have one small section for small dogs, they have two different sections for the big dogs, which they rotate to avoid wearing one side out too much. A while back they seemed to have a ton of issues with mud pits but they've filled those in and aside from some bare spots, the park is in great shape. Owning dogs is HARD. I love dogs and animals in general but it is expensive and hard. Otto Armleder Dog Park is here to help ease some of that responsibility in a big way. I've been to all of the dog parks in Cincinnati. I guarantee it. I have yet to find one that is as big, as free (can anything be "as free"), and as fun as Otto Armleder. One of the things that OADP does that differentiates it from (most) parks is that it separates the large dogs and the small dogs. I have two Chihuahua's weighing a COMBINED weight of less than eight pounds and I am not about to send them into the dog park with Marmaduke chasing them for their life. Although, my dogs may have the mentality of a 100 pound dog, the reality is they are 96 pounds less, and two feet shorter. That fact that this park is free is a godsend also. There are too many parks that make you pay to have your pet run around for half an hour in a field covered in grass. OADP is free and is why it attracts so many people to it. On a typical weekend night you will see easily 100 big dogs, and close to 25 small dogs. This is also a good thing for the dogs themselves as it gives them ample companions to play with. You will also meet some interesting people yourself there. People love to talk about their dogs and a dog park is no different. It is fun to see all of the different types of dogs as well as all of the different type of people. Parking is (usually) fine. During the week you have no problem finding parking in the recently expanded attached parking lot. Weekend, you may have to drive around once or twice to find a spot, but nothing too drastic. Lunken airport is just over the trees on the other side and you will routinely see low flying planes coming in which is neat, at least for me. The upkeep of the park is great. There are several doggy bag stations and people seem to be fairly responsible when it comes to picking up doggy doo-doo. The big dog areas are divided into two parts with the small dog area in the middle. The areas are alternated occasionally to allow grass to regrow. The big dog area also has a small area with baby swimming pools where your dog (or you, I won't judge) can cool down on hot days. There are trees and benches around also if you need to sit down. I do want mention that pit bulls are not allowed but people will be people and sometimes do bring them, but I haven't seen any the past few times I have gone and isn't a big problem. Dog owners don't want the added cost and anxiety of bringing their best friends to a park that cost money and isn't separated for safety. Otto Armleder Dog Park is without a doubt the best dog park in the city. I've been coming here for several years and as long as I am in Cincinnati I will come here. I love this dog park! It's HUGE and always has other doggies for my pup to play with. They can run around a lot because the park is so large, and it's nice and green and open. This dog park gets very busy on the weekends, which can be a good or bad thing depending on what you're looking for...I happen to like a lot of people there because that just means more dogs for my puppy to play with! There's a small dog play area too if your dog is under 20 lbs. My only issue with this dog park is that most owners don't pick up after their dog here so sometimes you can find some bombs in the grass. But still, overall a great leash-free dog park. read more

This is an unassuming, FREE, off leash dog park. I have been bringing a couple of my dogs here for years. One of my dogs wasn't a fan of being that social with other dogs, so we stopped coming with him. He is now at Rainbows Bridge. My other dog, whom I've had for 2+ years, LOVES to run. She doesn't really understand playing with other dogs very well, but she's getting better. I have a second dog currently, who just likes to sniff and "referee" the other dogs playing. LMAO My husband and I will often walk around the perimeter of one of the fenced in areas to get our girls to run and sniff and get away from any dogs causing problems. (2 large areas and a small area on one side of the road. And a square area, not that big, on the other side of the road) I will say that there have been times where the owners of some of the dogs don't seem to pay much attention to them and their behaviors. These owners seem to be more concerned with conversing with other owners or being on their phones. I don't like those people. There are some rules, but some owners pay no attention (females in heat, dogs with aggression issues, etc). This IS a wonderful place to come, just stay on your toes and pay attention to your furry baby and make sure everyone is having fun. read more

My guys are 2 lbs and 4 lbs so we still have to be careful but most of the owners keep their dogs under control and interact with them. We appreciate that. This is the park of canine dreams my friends. We have a small dog park near our home but every attempt to enter ends in butt sniffs and shyness but not at Otto. This place is a palatial outdoor paradise for your furry friends. The larger area seems to be 2-3 acres at a minimum. Even on weekend days when the sun is shining there's more than enough room for the dogs to stretch their legs and explore the grassy alcoves and mud puddles. The lawn is perfectly manicured without holes or dirt patches. My dog Josie loves the ability to sunbathe or sun like a crazy woman or socialize with all of the Cincinnati dog pals! I love this place, as does my dog. He barks in excitement as soon as we hit Columbia Parkway. It's huge with plenty of room to run with fresh cold water. I brought a baby pool with me all summer to keep him, and the other dogs cool. I offered it had a quick bath for the mud-puddlers, which most owners seem to appreciate. It's not pool season anymore, but we still come most days for playing and my dog's favorite: fetch. I give four stars because sometimes there are irresponsible owners: I've seen people watch their dogs poop--even comment on it!!--and not clean it up. Weekends are the worst. I've had my ball ripped from my hands by random dogs, clearly not well trained. My dog loves sticks and will often follow and try to take them from people carrying them, but I'm always right there to stop and/or correct him. Also a lot of people socializing, reading, on their phone, etc. just not keeping an eye on their dog isn't entirely uncommon. A few tips: it can be muddy, so bring a towel!! Don't bring toys or treats. You will lose toys. I've brought a few different balls, including my awesome squeaky one, and they will always turn up missing or stolen by another dog and potentially tore up. Stolen balls don't bother me too much because hey, it's a dog park, it happens. Tearing up things I spend money on kind of irks me, but live and learn. Keep treats in your pocket like I used to when we first started coming, and you will have "stalkers" following you around. Scuffles can occur, but they're usually far and few between. If you come around the same time you usually see a lot of the same people so everyone kind of knows each other. Most scuffles are immediately addressed and corrected. Oh, and I've never witnessed a scuffle that was started by a pit bull. Breed discrimination is awful, and there's a pit that regularly plays with my dog and he's the only other dog mine does not get angry with humping him. (he's usually pretty assertive that, NO, this is NOT cool. Doesn't seem to mind this little guy though, maybe because he's much smaller.) All in all, pretty awesome place. We will continue going just about every day that they're open for the forseeable future. read more

I'm sure it's is a great dog park but I visited it today (2/26/22) and it was completely flooded

After 3 days in a row of my 7 month old puppy {40 lbs} being attacked by 3 different pit bulls, I will no longer be visiting the dog run. I used to believe that it was all in how you treat & raise your animal as to how it will react & interact with others. I no longer believe this about pit bulls, as we were visiting the park almost daily & he has never been attacked by any other breed. This was MORE than just aggressive play. All incidents were pretty similar. My dog was running/playing with other dogs while the pit bulls looked on. Once the play came close to the pit bulls they would strike out. My dog was thrown down in the dirt, the pit bulls snarled & shook while they held my dog on the ground & bit at him. He would tumble & break away from them & they would catch him & pin him down again & bite him. This was not play, this was an aggressive attack. Luckily there were no visible wounds from the attacks but all 3 incidents left my pup shaken & afraid. The owners, in all 3 incidents, did not remove their dogs from the park as the rules state. They all asked me what happened & 1 even asked me what my dog did to make their dog attack him. It was as if they weren't even watching their dogs! I was able, not very politely, to tell them exactly what had occurred & the response I got was mostly just a bewildered look & a shrug of shoulders. Such a shame that a place that was once a fun & safe place for my dog to play & interact with other well-behaved dogs has so quickly turned into such a scary & potentially lethal place. read more

It's great to have a great, big community park where dogs can run off leash and socialize with others! On one side with nearby parking, the park is divided into small dogs 22lbs and under and big dogs. Outside this entrance is a faucet for cleaning your dogs or fetching water. Across from the parking is a dog pen area that I assume is meant for off leash, but fenced training with your dog, but I could be wrong. There are also paved walking trails so you can explore the park on foot and get to additional parking. My tips: 1. Wear rain boots. I admire the fellas who wear flip flops, but I wouldn't trust not stepping in it mostly because I have. 2. Pick up after your dog. Help others who don't plan as well and bring your discarded plastic grocery sacks to refill the community waste bag posts throughout the area. I get it, it's an off-leash park and your dog runs, but you're to keep in proximity of your pup especially when dogs get into scuffles. 3. Don't bring in food or dog treats. Nothing creates a cluster of dog mayhem like the owner who says who wants a treat?! Ahh! 4. Water. The big dog area has a water bowl, the small doesn't. Overall, we have had a good time at this park and I was hesitant because it can be a mix of dog temperaments and owners. I'm trying not to be horrified by the dog who had diarrhea near the community water bowl. You've been warned. read more

What happened to this park? I'd estimate there's a giant pile of poop every 100 square feet. You and your dog will leave with another dog's poop on you if you're not careful, and I bet your dog is not all that careful. People there used to be a lot more considerate. Huh. p.s. maybe it's Karma, maybe a point proven, but a bull terrier ran up and stole my dog's toy from my hand, nipping me in the process. It's not the gun, it's the gun owner, right? The owner was no where to be found and the dog didn't have a sign on his neck telling me his owners have no clue how to train him. I wish I had better things about the park, but I don't. Pros: It has a large area for dogs over 22 pounds, and enough room for my beagle to sniff around. Cons: The last time I went, I had a horrible experience. Most people are nice, but it's that one person who ruins your dog park experience. So, it's not the park but what I have experienced there. My biggest pet peeve is when people allow their dogs to crowd the fence, and blame others when their dog runs out into the corral area. People, if your dog likes to crowd the fence, DON'T blame the people trying to enter if your dog gets out. Also, some people do not supervise their overly anxious and high strung dogs who hump my dog or jump on top of him, which he doesn't like. Well maintained dog park with different sections to allow for rotation during muddy seasons (and believe me it gets muddy here!). There is running water for the dogs to get a drink, benches for owners, and trash cans for waste pickup. It is very large and also includes a small dog area. There is ample parking. My complaint with this park, and warning to others, is the owners here not properly watching their pets or being aware that they can be aggressive. Generally I do not go to dog parks unless there is a husky meet for this very reason. My dog was attacked by a Corgi, to which the owner's response was, "he can be funny with other dogs". I love this park. My dogs love it. There is so much room for them to run around like wild pups and get out all their shenanigans. They have 3 areas - 2 general areas that alternate being opened (probably to give the grass time to regrow) and one small dog area for ankle biters. Someone in the quick tips mentioned not bringing pitties and as an avid supporter of throwing out breed-specific legislation this makes me cringe (but yes, they are prohibited here..sigh). Of all the so-called "vicious" breeds that I have come across in the dog park, the little yippy dogs have been the worst violators of the non-aggressive rule. Honestly, people need to stop bringing their non-neutered dogs to the park. A non-neutered dog, regardless of breed, is going start stuff. Or hump things. Either way, it's aggravating. But I digress. Park = good happy times for dogs. Do it. Do it for the pups. read more

How have I not reviewed this park?? I am here at least once a week! Otto Armleder is kind of off the beaten path, and therefore less known than other Cincy dog parks but it is my favorite. When you walk up you come to a choice between the larger sections or the small dog area. The small dog area is a godsend mainly because my dogs have a combined weight of 8 pounds! Only dogs 22lbs or less are aloud in (which I think is still pretty big but you get the picture). Both areas are very well maintained and have ample amount of space to let your pooch run free after being cooped up all day. I think it is so funny to see my pups take off once inside because there is absolutely no other time I would let them de-leash besides at this park. The fences are actually completely against the ground so even the littlest chihuahua can't sneak through. If you get a chance stop by and say hi! I am always here :) read more

Such a great dog park! I've been coming here for year and now introducing my puppy to it. Always have a good time with a ton of furry friends, plastic bags available to pick up after the dearest pups, and a separation of parks for small dogs vs. big dogs. There are multiple running water fountains for the dogs if/when they get thirsty! I love letting my dog off-leash and make plenty of friends. Bring toys! Warning: said toys may get destroyed during play time . When it rains though it definitely gets super muddy so you may want to bring towels in your car and get ready for bath time after leaving. I like this dog park a lot- ample parking close to the area, and a lot of space for my big lab mix to run around in! There is also a space across the way where some people bring more aggressive dogs, and there is a small dog area! It's basically a doggy haven of joy. Bummers: I've been going here since the fall, and it's always, always muddy. Don't wear any clothes or shoes that you love/care about. I can only go on the weekend, and it can be pretty busy. Uppers: The space. If you go in the morning there are less people and the owners seem to be more attentive/friendly. I would suggest going at different times during the day as there are different crowds there at each time. I've found that I love the earlier morning folks. Everyone plays and has a good time. Highly recommend you come here for a free and fun day for your dog. Hit or miss. Sometimes, the place has good dogs. Sometimes, there are some dogs with no manners. Like if your dog is actually attacking other dogs and tries to bite their ear off, then you should leave. Isn't that common sense? Not at this place. Next time I see something like this, I'll definitely call a park ranger, but I didn't know that's what you're supposed to do. I go when it's not crowded. My dogs have never had a problem here, but when the people with really bad dogs come in, I leave. It's not as rough as some other dog parks, but you do need to be careful. If it's been rainy, there's a giant puddle on one side. Be prepared to give your dog a bath. Also, once a dog peed on my dog. He had it coming, so whatever. Otherwise, this is a nice dog park. There's water for the dogs and plenty of space to spread out. There's a little bit of shade. Like it's not like the giant farm I went to in the Chicago suburbs, but it's a good basic dog park. It's hard to find if you aren't familiar with the area. I'm a little slow with directions and it took me about two years to find this. Everyone said it was right by Lunken airport. I guess it is, but it kind of isn't. Like it's not where I go to park to walk around the path there. If I were you, I'd look up directions instead of driving back and forth past Lunken airport every few weeks. read more

Love this park. Very natural with large expansive grass and scattered shade tress. It's just near the Lunken Airport so my husband and I to like to watch the planes fly overhead. My pup has so much fun. I like the benches and doggie bags too. The access to a endless supply of drinking water is great and I appreciate those who bring baby pools to fill up so that my dog can cool off. (Otherwise he will roll around in the mud which seems to always be there, even on a sunny day.) After a stint in the dog park, I love to take my dog along the walking paths in the vicinity. Always fun to talk to other dog owners too, everyone is so friendly. Only problem is it floods occasionally. Due to its location just near the Little Miami it has flooded quite a few times over the past year and requires closure for about a week. read more

My only real beef is that this park is NOT technically in Cincinnati proper, outside school district and in Linwood. It's a county park, not a city one. The drive was ridiculously long from center city due to traffic. It feels like a park built on an airstrip. There are 4 extra large fenced fields. One for small dogs that has loads of room to run. One is closed on rotation (like a fallow field on rotation). There is easy parking. There were cans and bags and I didn't see the poop issue others reported. 99.9% of the dogs I saw were large. Our small dogs didn't care and we put him in with the big dogs without issue. There were about 20 dogs in the area, we were in after work. Everyone was social and the dogs had fun romping. There are few trees and vertical surfaces outside of benches - which means the benches get hit. A few giant rocks would help redistribute urine. read more

People often "forget" to pick up their dog's poop. otherwise it is a great wide open space with a community built around it. It is full of ignorant dog owners who tend to forget that there are other people in the world. There are also lots of other great people. If you take kids to this park, understand that they could be jumped up on, licked, knocked over and for goodness' sake, DO NOT TAKE A PICNIC into the park!! The county manages this park wonderfully. They empty the trash cans, mow the grass, and are kind people who work hard! I still go to this park VERY early so that I don't have to deal with too many people. read more

This dog park is awesome! No matter what time of day you visit, the park will be full of dogs and owners. Most people are friendly, and quickly intervene if a dog behaves inappropriate. The space is gigantic, though watch out for the pools in the back if your dog likes water and you don't want to take home a muddy, messy dog! It can get a little muddy so prepare if you don't want your car a mess. It is usually pretty busy and fun to see the dogs play with each other. There is also a trail around the park where you can jog or take a bike ride if you fancy that. There are always at least a few dogs around. My dog loves it! CONS: The only reason why this park didn't get 5 starts is because it's a bit of a challenge to get to. I really enjoy this dog park! As a new dog owner living in Anderson TWP., Armleder provides the perfect enclosure for my dog. I live in a one bedroom apartment with a very hyper german shorthaired pointer so this is a great dog park to get out all that excess energy of her. There are two very large enclosures for large dogs (only one is open at a time so that they can do maintenance on the other), a smaller enclosure for small dogs, with benches scattered around for the owners. There are dog water fountains available but they are shut off in the winter time so I would bring a bowl and bottle of water with you. People do a pretty good job with cleaning up after their dogs, but I would still check your shoes before getting into the car. Also, this is a public dog park, so I would advise that people do not just let their dog run around while you read a book or otherwise ignore your dog. There are no park employees to monitor dogs so its up to the people to make sure they play nice. Armleder is so big I can go to the far back corner to be alone with my dog and still have plenty of room to play. I would highly recommend this park to any dog owner on the East Side! read more

This place is great and it's gigantic. Upon arrival I was so relieved to see they had a separate are for smaller dogs and a larger area for the big dogs. Granted I have a humongous greyhound, so it wasn't him I feared for, but I feared for his playmates. He plays with all dogs the same, so he can really overwhelm a small companion. Once inside the gated field I let him loose and he instantly raced off to the opposite side of the field and began playing with all the dogs. He really enjoyed himself. I was hoping for more water oriented play stuff, but this place is more about the open space. So watch out if you have a dog who won't come when called. you'll never catch them! Haha. read more

This is a really nice dog park. I found it difficult to find despite signage (that's usual for me) but once we arrived initially return trips were easier on the navigation end. There are three areas of the dog park- this park confused me. Like many dog parks, this one has an area for small dogs and one for all dogs. The small dog area and general dog area are entered through the same side of the park. The dog park area across the main area is the behavioral area- I was under the impression for the first two visits that the behavioral area was the small dog area- whoops! This park is very well maintained and at least in the small dog area, people seem to do a good job cleaning up after their pets. The people and the dogs I have met have been friendly :) we definitely stop at this park when we are in the area. read more
