I noticed other negative reviews of this business but my experience here was absolutely fabulous they dealt with my insurance company No headache. they examined my eyes they ordered my glasses they repaired another set of glasses while I was there and only charged me $10 and they were all extremely pleasant and likable people on every issue. Maybe they have corrected there poor customer service or when two groups are patient and respect one another maybe the outcome is better for both some of these negative posts sound like they're coming from very unpleasant people. read more

I needed to see an eye doctor and called around at first, glad it all worked out because I was able to be seen because of a cancellation and the staff was great, they have a great atmosphere and the doctor was very informative, when I need another exam I will come back to riverview read more

Terrible experience. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. I've had the same prescription for 10 years and he changed the power like my eyes have improved. He wouldn't change it back unless I sat down for another appointment. Took me 3 visits to get the right prescription. read more

I am new to the area and establishing my doctors in the area. I had taken care of family doctor and dentist. I came to Riverview because of recommendations and proximity to my house. After reading a couple of the reviews on here, I was worried that I made a bad choice,but soon realized that I had made a great choice. The receptionist greeted me promptly and I was taken back for preliminary exams. Dr. Evans came in soon after and answered every question I had. After my exam, I picked out my glasses and was on my way! Highly recommended! read more

This establishment is a scam and a big one!! If they attempt to charge you %50 percent restocking fee just report them to Better Business Bureau I did and got all my money back. Don't let these aggressive scammers try and fast talk you and also don't let them keep your money. After they get your payment they start getting rude and they will order you grey lenses and not ask what color you want. They say they only have grey and brown lenses????? I find green, pink, Rose and many other colors on the web so these people are scammers and nothing better. Was greeted promptly for my appointment, taken right in for preliminary exams, then the doctor was friendly and efficient. The optician was also very helpful and friendly, helping me pick out a frame and getting my insurance rates and I was able to pay off the VSP deductibles with one reasonable payment. My glasses came in less than a week later and I was able to pick them up right away. Very satisfied with my choice to go to Riverview. read more

My daughter visiting from California was seen on May 22nd. Due to her breaking her glasses. After purchasing a new pair of glasses they told her it would be about a week to receive her new glasses. She even paid extra to have them mailed to her house in California. She called last Thursday to inform them that she has still not received her glasses and they said "oh, we forgot to mail them we will do it right away!" Well, it's been another week and still no glasses!! Again she called to inquire about her glasses and they said "hopefully they will be there by Wednesday". Boo on you Riverview! Save your money ,Go to someone who knows what they are doing.I paid over $400 for glasses and using my own frame, when I went to pick up my glasses two weeks later she just handed them to me I put them I tried to read with them on I started seeing double I told her she try them for a week you can bring them back for adjustment after I brought them back she told me it's the lenses need to be adjusted to she prescription , over a week later I get a call to pick my glasses I took them home put them on, guess what? I have been going to Riverview for years and have always had a through exam. This year I found that the old eye doctor is no longer there. I will never return. When giving the eye exam, the "new eye doctor" could not get the machine adjusted so I could see clearly. More then once he told me to guess at what the letters were. I could see better with my old glasses. When done he led me over to the girl to get my new glasses. Why would I want new glasses when the old ones I could see better with. Again, NEVER again. I am now on the hunt for a new eye doctor. I will have to pay for the new exam. read more

Before I started this review, I had read other reviews on this place, in which I was a little surprised. I've been coming here for years and I just love Dr. Wogalter. Unfortunately, something has changed with the office staff. The last time I went there, I paid 184.99 out of pocket after they estimated what my insurance would pay. I then got a bill months later stating I had to pay an additional 109.00. Because that's a 37% discrepancy between what I was told I would have to pay, I called to ask about it. Turns out that they made an error in submitting the exam charges and since the person doing the estimate wasn't sure whether my insurance covered new frames every year, she told me they were covered instead if checking first. I was told that I wouldn't have to pay the exam charges (no skin off their back since my insurance will pay it), but that I am responsible to pay the 70.00 for the frames (which I wouldn't have bought if I had known they weren't covered). They explained that I am responsible for the frames because I should know what my insurance covers. My complaint is that if they are going to take it upon themselves to estimate my insurance, I expect them to be within 10%. If it's my responsibility to know what is covered, don't give me a "wild guess" & send me a bill for your mistake. When I told the lady I talked to that I would pay it but I wouldn't be back, she responded with "okay!" As though they didn't need my business & even an apology wasn't warranted. Another unfortunate part of this is that before all this happened, I referred my husband there & he is still dealing with their incompetence. He ordered new lenses for his old frames on 9/6/17. He was told the new lenses would be in in about a week. Three weeks later he still didn't have them, and every time he tried to call to check on the delay he was automatically put on hold & hung up after waiting for about 5 minutes. No one ever bothered to touch base with him & let him know what was going on with his order. On 10/5 he finally got his new lenses after repeated attempts to contact them. Now he has to go back & start the whole frustrating process again because the lenses aren't right. Needless to say, he is not a happy camper either. I will be sure to warn everyone I know about the staff at this once great vision center. What a shame. read more

My appointment was for 9:00 AM. First appointment of the day, should have been seen reasonably close to my appointment time. Yesterday they called to tell me they could not find my insurance, I have 2, and she informed me that I must have a secret code or something, so I called my insurance company, then called her back to inform her that there was no "secret code", verified my employer, and magically, she had my insurance pulled up. Until she was able to pull my info, she was rude and the fault was either mine or my insurance company's Today, I was there 15 minutes early, first to check in, got my paperwork, as did the people who came in behind me. They turned in their paperwork, then I turned in my paperwork. About 5 minutes later, they called the other lady in, she came out, they called the man in. I asked the lady when their appt was, she said 9:15 & 9:30. We sat there for a while, and they called the lady back in. At 9:30, I stepped up to the check-in counter and asked about my appointment. Apparently appointment time does not matter, they filled out their paperwork first, So their appointments got moved to the head of the line. This receptionist was totally rude to me every time she addressed me. Since I drive 1.5 hours to get to town, I make as many appointments as I possibly can. Since I could see that I was not going to be taken care of in time for my next appointment, and they couldn't help but be rude to me, I requested my paperwork back and left When I informed them that I was advising my insurance company that they should not be billed for an appointment that they did not keep, she again became rude and told me I was welcome to take my business where ever I wanted to take it. That way, she didn't get into trouble for telling me, "screw you". read more

dont let the coupons fool you very $$$ compared to others,,ofc has a bunch of amateurs..ex..for retina exam... male had no idea.. had another person instruct..guess i was the guinea pig?? after filling eye RX after some mos.. reading glass were not correct nor comfortable and started to have bad headaces..too strong magnification!! want a lensometer to find a starting point of my old glasses... which work.. but needed new frames..no amateur in ofc can read one except (dr) whom ever was in the dr ofc wasnt interested and couldnt be bothered to come out!! so i have no glasses and out of alot of $$...girl say no to refund and a re exam..otherwise NO WORRIES!!! read more

Love this office! The staff is so friendly and ready to help! The doctor is very thorough and I believe genuinely cares about his patients. On multiple occasions I have ripped a contact and needed one immediately and they always have given me a spare - no charge! I really can't say enough good things about them! read more

After 5 years and 3 pairs of glasses later from another eye care center I found this one .I am more than pleased with them. I can see the way I should have been able too years ago.. Great doctor, great staff, awesome glasses.. But be prepared for a lengthy stay, my only complaint but so worth it. Bring a book, kick back and relax. I found the premises clean and the personnel helpful. I received my glasses sooner than indicated. I liked the assortment of eye wear and the way they took personal interest in my getting what I wanted. What I needed was a bit unusual and they made sure I got what I wanted. read more

We went there for glasses found a pair and they tried them on my son and when my son said they were a little tight she said they can be adjusted when we get them back in. Well when they came back in they adjusted them we left. Well we go back because any son said they were still pushing on his head. They say they are adjusted as much as they can be. So the frame is too small. When asked what can be done about it. The response I got was they can see if my insurance will provide a replacement pair. I said then that's like me using my replacement pair. And you are profiting twice because on top of what insurance covers I pay alot out of pocket. So I would be paying that much out of pocket a second time for a mistake they made not only that they told me my insurance only covered 40 dollars towards a frame when In fact they cover 80. Didn't know til after the fact. They were not going to fix the situation they were going to do it at my expense and .y insurance company's expense when they should have made sure the frames were the right size before we purchased them. read more

Went to Riverview to order a new lens on 2/26/2018 for my glasses that got a bad scratch. Met with a optician who completed the paper work, said it would take about two weeks for the lens to be made and sent to their office. I was promised a phone call would be made to let me know it arrived. On 3/21/2018 I went back to Riverview's office and asked if there was a problem with my lens order... the optician stated the order had a issue, and I should receive my new lens in about a week. Ever since Doctor Wogalter left... service has gone down hill. If my lens order is not received within a week... I will demand a refund and search for a new Optometrist. read more

They were extremely rude and unprofessional. The staff was rude right from the start, giving us attitude. Never coming back! This is the second time they have been rude to our family. The doctor is impatient with children and has yelled at my son for having trouble reading the words. It was such an awful experience. read more
