Price-wise, the LPs seem to be mostly consistent with the secondhand (Discogs) market prices. Records along the wall on the far side of the store (including those featured up on the wall itself) are quite pricey. Some of these I recognized as rare and typically in that price range (e.g. a copy of the Counting Crows debut for $99) but others seemed a bit inexplicable to me--records I normally see for $10-$20 going for $30-$70. I've seen similar situations at flea markets with vinyl dealers offering a sort of "tasters choice" of cleaned and supposedly pressing specific audiophile offerings, so perhaps this was long those lines. I stuck to the other 4-5 aisles of LPs for my purchases. I ended up with a nice selection of records including a long sought after early Bonnie Raitt album, all for less than $40 total due to the "buy 2 get 1 free" sale that was going on (for LPs under $12 or so). Each record I purchased was clean and played great, so I'm betting the owner is super selective on what he purchases and resells. I'd stop in here once or twice a month if I lived in the area, but I'm several states over!

They even had a couple crates of Broadway soundtracks the day we stopped in. Though we didn't look through them, you can also get CDs, cassettes and even 8-tracks here. The store itself is super crowded - narrow aisles, things precariously stacked about in places. Get more than a few people in here and it's hard to move around. It was also quite cold inside as they left the front door open (in January) the entire time we were there. The owner is fantastic and helpful and knows where his stock is. Prices vary and are generally pretty good - less expensive than other places in town, for the most part. Sidetracks will definitely be a stop for us any time we're in town.
