Great dog daycare. We were in Bandon, OR to play golf and needed daycare for our 3 yr old cocker spaniel. Riverview made the evaluation easy and our pup came home very happy and tired. I have been taking my dog here regularly since he was five months old and he was seven this March. He is always so excited to go to the kennel and if I'm lucky he says goodbye before racing out of the lobby. Always smell good and happy when I pick him up. He stays there regularly. If the idiot who left negative feedback would have spoke to the people at the kennel he'd understand that they hang the dogs collars on the out side of the kennel so avoiding any possibilities of it getting hung up on anything or when turned out to play that while playing prevents any issues that could occur when multiple dogs are playing and that's why his tracker on his collar never moved except when kennel gates opened and closed. This is by far a 10+ AAA facility from the front door and beyond. They offer many extras also including grooming. I refer ALL FRIENDS and acquaintances to this kennel. read more

I prayed for an entire year for the best place to take my 2 Westies and I found it! The staff is amazing, they really care. The owners are amazing...they have made the best of everything for my dogs. When I tell my dogs they are going to "the play place" the excitement they get is heart warming. I was a little nervous about leaving them overnight for the first time, but they had a blast. Actually they came home BETTER dogs. From the moment they arrive they hop out like they own the place. I am so grateful for the love they get when they are away from me. I would never bring my dog here again! if you can find any other option in the Bandon, OR area take it! I had a tracking/activity monitoring collar on my dog and it showed that she was kept in a kennel all day long. no exercise. no activity. Unlike the last reviewer(Michael Mandell) our family has always had an excellent experience with Riverview Kennels. Once our dog is brought into the facility his collar is removed. A wise policy to prevent injuries. Our dog, once he knows we are headed to Riverview, always gets excited as we have been going there for a while and he looks forward to romping with the other dog friends he has made there. He comes home from his stay there usually rather exhausted and falls asleep early that night. We are comfortable leaving him there overnight when needed as the staff and facilities are excellent. read more

my dog, Teddy, becomes visibly excited when we reach the driveway to the Kennels. He runs to the girls at the desk and can't wait to leave me to join the dogs in residence. When he's been there for a week I can tell he has been on a consistent schedule, expects his dinner on time and is ready to go to bed early. Riverview Kennels is a great place to leave your pets when you can't take them with you. My wife and I have been loyal customers for years. Our dogs always loved staying at Riverview. We have moved out of Oregon and my wife and I and our German Shepherd Cali miss the wonderful owners and staff at Riverview Kennels. Anyway, I just read about their VIP program to help shelter dogs become more adoptable by moving them to Riverview Kennels and have them stay there and get socialized and obedience trained. We have used many kennels over the years, all over the country. Riverview shines above them all. We have boarded old Larry, a 15-year-old lab mix, with them once before, for a few days. This time we were leaving him for four weeks. They have one section with heated floors, for the old dogs and others that need it. They are excellent about following feeding and medication instructions. Almost a week into our trip, the first day we had cell service, we got a call from Mary, the kennel owner. Larry couldn't stand up. He had messed his bedding. They lifted him up, tied a strap around the middle, and walked him around to do his business. As it turned out, they had to do this for him every day for about a week. They had already called our vet and conferred with her. They put his food and water next to his bed so he could eat without getting up, and made sure he ate and drank. We were 2,000 miles away and had cell service for only a day or two before losing it for most of the rest of the trip. They pampered him, built a ramp so he could get up a step, and communicated regularly with our vet and with us (we had email access). After almost a week, he was able to stand on his own again. (It has been difficult for him for a year or so.) We cut our trip short as much as we could, and when we picked him up, he was almost back to normal. After a week at home he is back to the same shape he was in a six weeks earlier: old but playful. What a great place, that cares about animals! read more

We brought our dog here for the first time earlier this week. She stayed for half a day. Unfortunately shortly after taking her home we noticed that she had multiple wounds on the top of her head. One of which was bleeding. The pattern of these wounds was suspicious for a bite injury. We contacted the business to inform them what we found and for any possible explanation. None could be provided. All we did receive was a refusal of responsibility and defensiveness. As the pictures clearly demonstrates, something happened but the staff was unaware. Incidents between dogs can happen but the expectation is that staff is there to intervene and report to the owners. Communication is especially important if there are injuries. None of that happened here. Fortunately her injuries are not life threatening but it seems the potential for worse is possible at this facility. Intentions may be good but all it takes is one act of carelessness and negligence. I would be concerned about the safety of your dog here. read more

100% impressive operation! IF we still had dogs, and found a reason to have to leave them behind, this is likely the only kennel I would even consider. They love your pets! And... it shows. The kennels are clean, spacious and you can opt for an inside/outside space for your pet. It's likely the one you leave behind will get the same kind of pampering you'd give yourself. I know they walk the animals out in the fresh air daily, and have a solid reputation even among veterinarians for outstanding service and care. It's true... it's just as good as it gets in kennels. Cat grooming! I called around and this was the only place I found that groomed cats. I had never brought my 12.5 year old BIG FLUFFY cat in anywhere before, but he is getting old and not as good at cleaning himself up anymore. I wanted to get his belly and rear end shaved to help him out a bit. The groomer was great and kept him a good long time, giving him time to be comfortable and slowly do everything at his pace. He came out looking and smelling great! read more

As an author I often have to travel for several weeks on book signing tours. Knowing that my companion is in a safe and loving environment makes being away from home so much easier. Riverview isn't just a kennel - it's a 'dog spa'. Duffy, my Scottish Terrier is a connosieur of comfort and he gives Riverview a full five star rating. He bounds in the office door and heads straight for the kennel entrance door. He knows his room is waiting (with a cookie on the pillow for all I know). We drive away knowing that Duffy is having the time of his life romping and playing with little friends. Grooming at Riverview is also a special occasion. Duffy arrives at 8:30 in the morning and has a playday prior to his suds and shine appointment. When we pick him up at 4:00 P.M. he's all played out and clean as a whistle. The kennel is nice, but the prices are just outrageous and they keep getting higher every time I use them! It gets really bad if you want to have your dogs stay on a weekend as Riverview automatically charges for Sundays, even if you pick your dog up right when they open. So, at Riverview, it costs you $96 for two dogs in one kennel for drop off on Saturday and pick up at opening time on Sunday. That's right, one night. For comparison, the same thing costs just $34 at Holiday Kennel in Eugene, OR. Yeah, about 2/3 less. And Holiday Kennel is much more accommodating and certainly receives just as many rave reviews (they also include extra niceties unlike Riverview who nickel and dimes you for EVERYTHING). Pretty sad when the price of renting a hotel room is much cheaper than a kennel. Actually, I just found a pet sitter that takes some dogs into her house that I'm going to check more into now as she seems to also receive rave reviews (Carol's Pet Sitting in Coos Bay). Sorry, Riverview, but feel you're just really taking advantage of people. It was fun while it lasted. read more

Bandon is so lucky to have Riverview Kennels. We have been boarding our black Lab, Boo, at Riverview Kennels at least once a year for five years, and become more and more pleased with the service Riverview provides with every visit. We lived in Seattle and Portland for a total of 10 years, and only one kennel came close to the cleanliness, service, and facility quality of Riverview Kennels. We usually accompany our dog to his kennel because we have his bed in tow, and it is amazing how clean and organized the kennels are given how busy they can get during holiday months. The computer system keeps track of Boo's vaccines, and on our last visit just two days ago, somebody was kind enough to call our vet to make sure Boo's vaccines were updated--I suppose in case I forgot the paperwork on our Saturday drop-off, when the vet is closed. Boo is now older and is on supplements and medication. Last January, when we left Boo for more than two weeks, I neglected to bring enough for the entire stay, and they were kind enough to get more of his supplement from the vet and just left us the bill for the vet. We love our dog, Boo, and are always confident that we are leaving him in good hands when we can't take him on our vacations. read more

Riverview is under new management (since March 2012). The staff is happy and friendly and the facility has clean, indoor kennels and at least 4 large fenced yards. The staff takes care to group dogs based on compatibility -something I really appreciate! My dog is over-the-moon happy when I pick him up and drop him off -so that's his rating. After visiting many kennels along the coast - Riverview is the only kennel I can recommend. It's sad that high quality pet boarding isn't the norm! Now, if only Riverview would open a branch up in the Newport area... read more

Wonderful staff! Facility is very clean, lawns are clean and dog runs are clean. We took our two dogs here to be boarded for the first time. we have 2 100 pound dogs. I am very picky about where I let my dogs go. The staff was so pleasant and nice. Our German Shepherd is severely allergic to fleas and I was comforted seeing ahow clean this facility was and not having to worry about him getting infested. Our dogs are on a special diet and medication. The staff had no problem at all sticking to the food we brought for them. When we picked our dogs up they were clean, the bedding we left for them was clean. They were very happy also. Would highly recommend. read more
