We (party of 4) went around 11:15AM. We got sat immediately and it was busy! There was variety of options for food. We got the crab dip and fried pickles to start. The crab dip was okay tasted a bit different than we have had before. The fried pickles were a bit greasy but aren't they everywhere?? We all got lunch special, two sides you can choose, and you get the daily dessert at the end. I got shrimp and flounder combo with potato salad and deviled eggs. All tasted good (ranch tasted so good). My dad got the ham. My brother got the flounder with baked beans and coleslaw. The coleslaw tasted premade but not bad. My mom got peel and eat shrimp. All except one shrimp tasted good! The cake was a marvel cake with frosting at the end. For all of this is was 107.00 fair priced for the huge amount of food we got. Another delicious lunch at the Riverview Cafe. The staff is super friendly and efficient and the food is excellent. I had the flounder shrimp combination with absolutely delicious fried zucchini and coleslaw. The fish was Super Fresh and lightly breaded and was a very generous portion. This was our second time dining at this out-of-the-way spot in Sneads ferry. I suppose if you are in Sneads ferry, this is the main option present it to you and from that standpoint one can appreciate the nice reviews. The servers are all very nice and friendly and it's clearly a little spot. They provide a plethora of seafood options and both the fried variety. Our experience has been average to mediocre food whether it be fried or grilled. For the quality, it is, perhaps a bit overpriced. Portions are large. But items like fried flounder or grilled shrimp or Friday. Oysters are in the category, but 'nothing special'. The venue is pretty unique with a spectacular view from some of the tables of the marina and the waterfront. This was our motivation to get in the spot twice. read more

Great local restaurant with consistently good, fresh food every time. We go there often even though we have to drive about an hour. Their hush puppies are wonderful. I love their slaw too. It's not too sweet. If you like pies then this is the place for you! The view is fantastic. I can't think of any seafood restaurant within a hundred miles I like as well. read more

Just wanted to update my review as I gave Riverview another try! They did not disappoint yesterday, the food and service were on point! Our waitress was super friendly and very attentive so we never did without. The hush puppies were as always, delectable fried goodness. I got the deviled crab which is seriously the best in our area. Buttered shrimp was cooked perfectly but could've done with a little more butter and seasoning. The fried shrimp I swiped from my husband was tender and cooked perfectly. Oh and the collards they had on special were mouthwatering and I'd be back any night they are on special!! read more

One of Sneads Ferry's little treasures is the Riverside Cafe. A great place on the New River for lunch or dinner, we came in from out of town and had to stop in again for dinner. Good fresh seafood with a few steak options, but if you're coming then you're coming for seafood. I had the 2 seafood combo fried and it was great, shrimp and grouper were perfectly cooked and even at 8pm the oil was clean for a well cooked meal. Sides were great as were the hushpuppies. Helped my daughter with a crab leg or two from her meal and she helped me finish off a piece or coconut pie. Have to recommend it all. Service was great, our server stayed on top of it and rocked it out. The restaurant is inviting, has the ability to seat larger groups and parking is openly available. Only complaints would be that it was hard to find the handicap parking, the gravel parking lot was hard to get through on my knee scooter and the ramp to get in was steep for a knee scooter. None of these detract from the great good and service though. A must visit read more

Steamed crabs were dry and overcooked. The steak was 40% fat. Clearly a very bad cut of ribeye or not even ribeye. Ordered medium well. Got it rare. Baked potato and the ranch were great Salmon was overcooked. I am not sure why it has glowing reviews. Was it Long John Silvers bad. No. But was it wait two hours, drive 75 miles to experience good? Do not expect anything fancy. The she crab soup had huge prices of crab but wasn't the best. My friend had the crab cakes and for being fired they had a good flavor. This is a place you come to get some good southern seafood cooking. Very laid back, pay at the counter, and seat yourself type of place. Winter in Sneads Ferry is a great time to support your local business and we are happy to support the Riverview Cafe. I was very surprised with the quality of the food, even the boneless wings were fresh, almost as if they were made in house. Burger and fries were great and my wife enjoyed her salmon, shrimp, green beans and potato's. I wish the burger was priced with LTO' (extra) but that is about the only issue I have. We have been here a few times and I would say the service was on point and very friendly. Simply dining along the water and I would be happy to return. read more

The bam bam shrimp was perfect best shrimp I've had in a long while. The fries were basic. Coleslaw was edible was bland. The pies I don't believe would be winning any awards anytime soon, not sure if they were homemade but weren't good. The service was fair she came out and got all of our drink orders , party of 9, my empty glass was only refilled after a person at the table asked for it to be. I sat my glass next to my kids cup to be refilled with hers and she didn't refill mine but my kids she did. This is a great restaurant for fresh local seafood. Riverview has an extensive menu, generous portions, and the best hush puppies ever! They can cook your seafood several different ways ( fried, broiled, etc) and always have a selection of different side dishes. Okra, squash casserole, and zucchini are great. For dessert they have a variety of homemade pies. This is always one of our Go-to's when we have out-of-town guests. read more
