If you are staying in north topsail and want to cook some seafood for dinner, this is a great place to get some fresh seafood. We bought 2 lbs of shrimp and 1 lb of scallops. They were sold out of fish that day unfortunately. The shrimp and scallops were both very good. They were super friendly and explained the options and prices.

This is our second visit to Topsail Island on vacation and we were very excited to be able to go back to Davis Seafood a few times throughout the week to get fresh seafood for our dinners and then some to freeze to bring back to Wisconsin. Vickie and her husband are the nicest people you could meet and make you feel so welcome! They are so fun to visit with and learn all about the area and seafood and fishing! We cannot day enough about the quality of the seafood, the prices are great and the amazing owners!!!! Thank you!

Amazing selection of fresh seafood in their waterfront store. We bought a pound of scallops, 1.5 lbs of grouper and 6 crab cakes for $117.00. The scallops may be the best we've ever had! The grouper was thick and fresh and the crab cakes were delicious. Highly recommend!! read more

Incredibly fresh seafood and incredibly clean seafood operation. Used to help out at a crab house and by comparison this place is so clean. A lot of open air. Clearly this family cares about their product. Call ahead and they even shell/devein your shrimp! Saved me 2 hours of prep time for dinner. Their sea scallops can be 2" to 3" in diameter. When you buy anything, it won't have a scent, unless you didn't cook it right away and stored it too long at the wrong temperature. Do yourself a favor. Only get your seafood here. read more

Wonderful family owned and run seafood company. Fall brown shrimp and sea scallops are some of the best we've ever eaten. Our daughter's family swears by the Davis homemade crab cakes If you buy your seafood from Davis Seafood, you know it's the freshest you can buy! i'm a seafood novice....davis seafood has always- ALWAYS cheerfully educated me when i came...whoever was there was always kind, thoughtful and happy to help me learn new things ....unfortunately we have a regular place to stay in holden...which we love, but the local fish markets aren't as kind to "the tourist" that i am....i so wish they would take a lesson from how davis seafood treats customers! next time i buy "local" - i think i'll make the drive to davis seafood .....i know it will be worth it! read more

We loved everything we brought home from Davis. The shrimp and scallops were *amazing* and I really loved their crab cakes, which came frozen and ended up being convenient because we kept it in the freezer until the night before we knew we'd make them. We were a bit early (first week of June) but the woman working let us know everything that was available and told us to just give them a call to make sure they'd have what we wanted. She was super friendly. Next time we're visiting North Topsail Beach we'll definitely make a stop here. read more

This is our second visit to Topsail Island on vacation and we were very excited to be able to go back to Davis Seafood a few times throughout the week to get fresh seafood for our dinners and then some to freeze to bring back to Wisconsin. Vickie and her husband are the nicest people you could meet and make you feel so welcome! They are so fun to visit with and learn all about the area and seafood and fishing! Purchasing seafood for a large family gathering while we were vacationing in North Topsail. Very happy all around. The seafood was fresh, reasonably priced and delicious. We purchased scallops, shrimp and some red snapper. The people who waited on us were obviously part of the Davis family....I recognized them from pictures on their website. We were just in Surf City. I bought 5 pounds of shrimp from Davis Seafood. So fresh and so good. The boat is right there where you buy them. The family that runs it are so helpful and informative. Gave me great information on where to find other food I needed to cook the shrimp and clam boil I made that evening. It was a huge hit. read more

Visited this spot while vacationing in Topsail after it was recommended to me. The business is family owned and operated. The shrimp and grouper were incredibly fresh and delicious. The woman who helped me was so delightful and helpful, and even offered to show me how to properly clean the shrimp. Prices are great too. Highly recommend a visit! read more

Excellent spot to buy fresh seafood! The owners were friendly and helpful and the selection was extensive. Prices were very reasonable. We bought a dozen beautiful blue crabs for $15 and some gorgeous head-on shrimp for $6.50/lb. They also had fresh grouper and cleaned, ready-to-cook soft-shell crabs. Highly recommend! read more

Our family was looking for wahoo and tried all the fish markets on Topsail and Surf City without any luck. We eventually wound up at Davis's in Sneads Ferry and although he didn't have any either he took the time to call around to several other stores to assist our search. Who would have guessed an oyster shack would be placed conveniently near my mother's house? ... Okay, anyone would have considering we live right on the coast. I'm slow, okay? Looked up Grant's on Yelp and headed straight there. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a very enthusiastic dog... and then another dog! And then an adorable sleeping cat! Apparently there was another cat lurking about, but I never met them. The gentleman working there welcomed me and invited me inside. I asked how buying oysters goes because I had never purchased them fresh before. He directed me to the gentleman running the place who told me the current price for a bushel was $70, half for $40. I gave the woman at the desk my credit card while I chatted them up. They've been in busy since 1939, selling crabs, oysters, grouper, snapper, you name it. People tend to wipe them out daily, so it's best to show up as early as possible. I thanked everyone (including the animals) and drove home with my half-bushel in hand. Thank goodness I had a random cardboard box in my car or else I would have gotten ocean water all in the trunk. And, of course, the oysters were sublime. Salty with a smooth ocean aftertaste. Great raw and steamed, but even better with cocktail sauce and lemon juice on top. Yes, I ate half a bushel by myself in three days. It took a day to clean them all! Don't judge me. Cheers to a year of more oysters!
