Kelly, who is supposed to oversee the property, consistently ignored our complaints and treated us as if we were the problem--not the roaches, not the conditions. The desk clerk, Sharon, who insists she's a manager, mirrored this same behavior with a tone that was combative and condescending rather than helpful. What we experienced wasn't just poor customer service--it was a reflection of something deeper. The way we were spoken to, disregarded, and treated differently from other tenants made it painfully clear that racism is still alive and well in places where fairness and professionalism should be standard. EPB internet access Cons: Poor communication from the front office. They didn't tell me that I had been taken off the wait list for a garage spot and just charged me for it. Thankfully, Christian was nice enough to reimburse the two weeks I wasn't parking in the garage. Also, it can be hard to reach someone at time both over the phone and through email. Expensive garage parking. Garage is $100 per month and outdoor (at the stadium a block away) is $45 per month. No recycling Forced valet trash charge. I can take my own trash out for $25 a month. Gates were frequently left open for months for "future resident parking" leading to car break-in. Maintenance entering units at night time for non-emergencies. Strong cigarette and marijuana smoke can be smelled in elevator and hallways frequently. I would come home from work to my entire unit flooded with cigarette and thick marijuana smoke floating up from the units below me. I complained frequently to management and they took no action for 3 months. After 3 months I was issued a 2-3 sentence apology email. At this point the police department had to get involved. Due to all of these issues, I chose to give appropriate 60-day notice to vacate, as the terms of my lease were violated by management: Crime-Free/Drug-Free Housing Addendum and Smoke-Free Lease Addendum. Management is now demanding over $3,000 in fees and refusing to return my deposit.

One of the them was noise and disturbance policies. I spoke with the property manager, during the viewing, let her know one of the most important things to my family is peace and quiet. In our first month we started having issues with our neighbor's dog barking for hours at a time. After several interactions with the property manager we were told we were the only ones that had a problem with it and we just had to live with it. Then, in our second month, the popcorn ceiling started to peel. We also noticed black mold growing, within a few days, after cleaning in the bathtub. We turned in a maintenance request to have someone come look at the ventilation in the bathroom. We wanted to make sure everything was venting properly including the dryer. The work order was never fulfilled, leading to the dryer to catch fire a month later. When they responded to the maintenance request for the dryer catching on fire he unplugged it and left it in the apartment. Keep in mind we had to use a fire extinguisher to put the fire out so it stunk really bad. When we asked Maintenance why he wasn't removing it he said we weren't going to get a replacement, all he was required to do was unplug it. He left leaving the fire extinguisher sitting outside empty. There's been multiple complaints communicated to the property manager about our neighbor's second hand smoke coming in our apartment when we leave the windows open. It's so bad we can smell smoke in our bedroom closet. They still haven't corrected that and it's been 6 months. This has been our worst rental experience yet. Lesson learned. We will never rent through this company again.
