I stopped by this dealership for the first time after moving to the area. I own two Toyotas and was checking on service options and whether the 2026 models were in, as I plan to trade both. While there, I picked up an air filter. The parts rep handed me the part and took the invoice to the cashier. I didn't check the price until after the transaction was complete--$30 charged. I looked up the same part at my previous dealer: $21. Verified by phone. Same OEM part, same brand, same dealer channel. That's a 30% additional markup above another dealer's pricing. It's not about the $9--it's about principle. If a dealership is willing to overcharge on a basic part, they've signaled they can't be trusted with a major transaction. That $9 cost them two vehicle sales and all future service business. I only use dealer service, and I was ready to commit locally. But this was short-sighted and unnecessary. This review is in reference to the service department. We took a vehicle here to have the AC recharged because we had replaced the compressor. We told both the service advisor and the tech over the phone and in person that it needed to be recharged, and it could need the oil (since it a new compressor) They proceeded to Not put the oil in there and only charge the compressor and now the compressor is not running properly and may need replacement. They are claiming no wrongdoing And would not return our calls after we picked the vehicle up. we had to go up there in person after days of calling and they made us wait 30 minutes before talking to anybody. It wasn't a big issue. All they had to do was take the car back in and add the oil to see if the compressor would run properly, but they refused and only wanted more money even though the problem was because they didn't check if it needed oil or not even though we explained that it would probably need it. Part of doing business is having to own up to your mistakes Regardless of how big or small they may be, these people have no intentions of owning up to anything. My wife took her RAV4 in for an oil change and tire rotation. They did what they called a 10 point inspection and two days later her car wouldn't start I open the hood and this is what I found with the battery that was supposed to be part of the 10 point inspection that they said was good, it was not even bolted down. My Toyota Tundra would not start so I had it towed to Riverside Toyota.  A fuel pump was installed.  After a few days it would not start, had it towed to Toyota again. A fuel pump control module was put in.  After a few days it would not start.  Talked to Assistant Service Manager and he suggested a wiring harness was next step. Due to already spending over $2600  I did some research for possible solutions and cleaned throttle body and MAF sensor and it has started every time since. My contention is that Toyota failed in their diagnosis and truck didn't need the fuel pump or control module. Toyota offered $1,000 to get rid of me as a customer by having me sign a document that said they would not work on my truck in the future. I refused to sign. I have emailed the owner several times with no resolution. read more

Mark Sandoval was what made the 144 mile drive from Columbus Ga to Rome worth it. We already knew what we wanted when we called the dealership. The car was in transit and we were able to put a deposit down. We were given an arrival date 4 wks away. It actually came in two days ahead of schedule. Mark kept us up to date the whole way through. We had shopped around at dealerships closer to home but no one came close to matching Mark's professionalism. We arrived at 8:30am and was out the door driving home by 9:45am. This is the worst car dealership I've ever seen. They took my deposit and sold my car to someone else. I put down a $1000 deposit on a 2023 Toyota sequoia on September 27th. AIMEE BOURNE said the vehicle would arrive around October 20th, but it didn't arrive until October 21st. Meanwhile, JEFF SHEDD is the most scoundrel I've ever met. He said I must pay all the money today or he'll sell the car to someone else. I've already paid the deposit, but I'm supposed to send him the check before the vehicle arrives. I don't see the point of my deposit anymore. I can't understand why a car dealer would charge a customer for everything before the car is ready. Went the other day for a routine tire rotation and got a new air filter put on. It was not a good hour after I left that my check engine as well as my check vehicle stabilizer control lights came on. I googled to see what the lights meant and it told me to check a few things, and when I opened up the hood of my car I immediately noticed that the hose that go from the engine to the air filter was not even attached. The service center had already closed for the day so thank you to the person that worked on my car for keeping me up all night stressing on how far I could travel before I messed up my motor. read more

Let me start by saying it would be 5 stars just for Cole Waldrop he is absolutely caring towards customers wants and voices and worked hard to get the vehicle we were looking for. HOWEVER Jeff Shedd was absolutely miserable to work with, wouldn't talk to women only addressed men, there is an issue with a vehicle we were looking to purchase which had DUCT TAPE coving the problem and he said "it's just cosmetic" when it is clearly electrical (flashing light is considered cosmetic?) not professional in the slightest. He also treated an older gentleman very poorly before we even encountered him. Steer clear of him and look for tape when looking at used vehicles. read more

My daughter goes to college in Rome and spend a summer there for a summer job. Her tire pressure light came on and one tire was low. She thought she had a leak. She took it to Discount Tire and sure enough, they found a little nail. Patched it, aired it up and sent her on her way. Except the light didn't go off. After a couple of days of keeping an eye on the tires' pressures she took it to Riverside. They first told her Discount Tire must have broken the sensor or not hooked it up properly or something. Then they looked at the car. They said a sensor on a different tire was broken. The car has 80,000 miles on it so things are going to start wearing out. They replaced that one and the light still didn't go off. However, tire pressure was fine in all the tires. They finally figured out she had a full-sized spare hooked into the system and that must be the problem as the other four seemed fine. Well, it was going to be another hour before they could even get to it and she couldn't stay. She never got a chance to go back and during the couple of weeks between the end of her job and the beginning of school she came home. The pressure was fine in all the tires, so it wasn't an emergency. I took it to our local dealer. They plugged the car into the diagnostic computer and five sensors were detected. Two were non-functioning and neither one was the spare. They texted me a picture of the computer screen while I was waiting. I don't know how Riverside did their diagnostics. Do they not have the fancy computer you just plug the car into and it finds everything wrong? They completely missed two dead sensors and I'm wondering if the one they replaced really needed it. If they missed two broken ones, how do we know they didn't misdiagnose the one they did change? read more

I had to correct the math on two of their quotes, salesperson was talking to others during our final closing discussion, at the point of putting down my 1000 dollar deposit, I was then told that the vehicle I was told would be in a few weeks would actually take around 6 months. Tried to charge for a package that was required for the specific model (sr5). The single worst buying experience I've ever had with a dealership; to cap it off, I missed out on another truck at another dealership, because I wasted my time with this place. Took my car for scheduled oil change and tire rotation. Day before appointment my engine light came on. Service tech refused to check why engine light was on because I did not specifically request that when making the service appointment. They next available appointment to check engine light was two week later. For my next oil change I took my car to a garage (not dealership) and they questioned if any oil change had been done prior. Fast forward two years of regular service with engine light coming on 6 times resulting in the end engine is burning oil. The garage called dealership to inquire about any type of warranty for 2012, 84,000 (this experience happened 11/19) and was told NO. So I started making plans to sell car and buy new as I did not want to pay for cost of new engine. As making plans to sell car I had to take another care for service in out of town location. Took second car to Chevy place and shared the issues about the first car. In less than 2 minutes they were able to tell me the first car (that I was getting ready to get ride of) WAS UNDER WARRANTY FOR THE EXACT PROBLEM!!!! AVOID RIVERSIDE service department as their mistake almost made me have to buy a new car when it wasn't necessary because my car was still under warranty. For fun I called a third Chevy place and just asked if they knew if my car had any warranty on it for the year 2012 - engine burning oil and guess what .... they quickly said YES! I came in and it was raining; I showed Marie the Tacoma I wanted to see, and she was quick to offer a hot cup of coffee and an umbrella. There was minimal back and forth and we reached a favorable deal for both parties quickly. I'm highly satisfied with the way they conduct business and would recommend them for a good Toyota vehicle. I purchased my car new from Riverside Toyota in 2017, they are the only ones who have serviced it. A couple of weeks ago I took my Camry in for an 8:40 am appointment for oil change and tire rotation, afterwaiting almost 2 hours i walked to the window and was motioned out to the desk and advised that they could not rotate my tires because I needed new ones and them getting tire prices was what was taking so long. I advised I would not purchase tires from them they said i was ready to go then (this was a Saturday). Monday I called a tire store near work and had them order a set of tires, I dropped the car off the next morning for the tires to be installed. A few hours later they called me and stated they would not reoplace my tires because they were good for another 10-15K miles they put the car back together at no charge. I will not go back to Riverside Toyota to be taken advantage of and I was dealing with the female in the svc dept why would she do that to another female. Agree 100% with Samuel. There's one service employee, Danny, who is attentive, friendly and helpful. The rest of the staff seem 'busy' doing nothing. As I stood for over 15 minutes in a very hot garage, I was never acknowledged as 3-4 employees looked at and walked past me. Also observed and overheard one staff member speak ill of another employee to a customer. Had a very negative experience with this dealership. I would strongly avoid visiting them unless you are local. They use deceitful tactics in their online advertisements to get you in the door. We live two hours away, so we had an appointment to come purchase a used vehicle. The OTD price was agreed to beforehand based on the online description and sales rep discussions. Upon arrival, we dealt with a sales rep who was incredibly unmotivated and unknowledgeable (could not answer a single question about the vehicle). We immediately noticed that there were 4 significant chips in the windshield. This was never mentioned beforehand nor listed in the ad. It would need to be replaced. The sales rep claimed that they had "no idea" about the windshield damage, but we noticed it within seconds of entering the vehicle. There is no way a professional dealership would not notice this while certifying it. They blatantly hid that information from us. We still had every intention to buy it despite this, and all we asked for was $500 off the final price to help cover the cost of a replacement. The manager was a bit argumentative and unwilling to accommodate that small request, knowing good and well that we wasted two hours to come pick it up. This negative review isn't being made because they didn't discount us the cost of the damage, but because of their unethical business practices in failing to disclose damages that would have impacted our decision to come and visit. Upon knowing this issue, they did next to nothing to make it right, thus essentially wasting our day. I unfortunately left without a vehicle and with a bad taste in my mouth, and I would certainly not recommend this dealership. We purchased a similar Toyota from the LaGrange dealership just a few weeks ago and they were wonderful (the experiences were night and day), sadly I would avoid Riverside. read more

Avoid this location at all costs. I pull up my car to the service center to get an oil change. I'm waiting in my car for about 5 minutes right in the service building in front of the employees. That whole time, absolutely NO ONE even acknowledged me, only one guy briefly glanced at me and nothing else. So I get out of my car to talk to the clerk, who when I stand right at his desk didn't acknowledge me AT ALL! Not a 'I'm sorry sir, we will be with you shortly" or even a "hi". So I get back in my car and leave, NEVER TO RETURN. I've seen better customer service at a credit card company. read more

My family and I were traveling with our dog and our low tire pressure light came on so we stopped by to get it adjusted, that's it. We have our dog so out of courtesy we wait out side. After 30 minutes of waiting I go ask the man at the desk how much longer it will be and he tells me about 15 more minutes FOR A TIRE PRESSURE ADJUSTMENT. I ask him to bring my car back around because it's literally 2 mins at max to check tire pressure and adjust all four tires! I also work in the service department at a dealership where I am from. I am also a service advisor. As an advisor, when a customer comes in with a simple issue like this you take care of it immediately. Not make them wait in the cold while their vehicle sits there. This is absolutely absurd to me, he could have at least said let me go check on that since I started I've already been waiting a half an hour for something simple as that. But no. He tells me he will get my car and doesnt even try to get the pressure adjusted. As an advisor u am more understanding than most customers but this was very disappointing. Awful service department, called and asked if they were busy, they said no, I pulled in 2 minutes later, they did not lie, they weren't busy. They said about an hour to balance 4 tires. After an hour and then some I asked about my car because I saw it sitting outside. Other customers came and went and I was still there, why? Because they haven't got to it yet. Went in for oil change, and mentioned that I needed brake pads. Attendant said that it would take an hour and a half to finish both. After an hour and 45 minutes, I saw my truck still sitting in the parking lot, without the first thing even started. I told the service manager to just change the oil immediately, and promptly left. I won't be back. Don't you hate it when a business tells you that a service will take a specific amount of time, but the job hasn't even started AFTER the time s/he said it would have been completed. Service Department is very lacking. My wife took our 4Runner in after it made a strange noise while starting one morning. They told her it was possible that a squirrel had got inside the intake manifold and built a nest. They charged her 500 dollars to remove and reinstall the intake manifold. Of course there was no squirrel anywhere, later we searched online and found what the noise was and how to fix it. They really like to take advantage of people. That experience turned us against them. We don't even get an oil change there anymore. read more

I bought my car from Riverside in October of 2014. I loved the customer service they provided considering I was buying my first car. The process did take a little longer than anticipated, but that should always be factored in anways. Considering I'm very indecisive, they were generously patient with me when it came to choosing the car I wanted. Every time I've went to have my car serviced so far has been a breeze.
