While there, I picked up an air filter. The parts rep handed me the part and took the invoice to the cashier. I didn't check the price until after the transaction was complete--$30 charged. I looked up the same part at my previous dealer: $21. Verified by phone. Same OEM part, same brand, same dealer channel. That's a 30% additional markup above another dealer's pricing. It's not about the $9--it's about principle. If a dealership is willing to overcharge on a basic part, they've signaled they can't be trusted with a major transaction. That $9 cost them two vehicle sales and all future service business. I only use dealer service, and I was ready to commit locally. But this was short-sighted and unnecessary. I have photos of both receipts and confirmed the price difference directly by phone. This wasn't a misunderstanding. It was a bad decision. We told both the service advisor and the tech over the phone and in person that it needed to be recharged, and it could need the oil (since it a new compressor) They proceeded to Not put the oil in there and only charge the compressor and now the compressor is not running properly and may need replacement. They are claiming no wrongdoing And would not return our calls after we picked the vehicle up. we had to go up there in person after days of calling and they made us wait 30 minutes before talking to anybody. It wasn't a big issue. All they had to do was take the car back in and add the oil to see if the compressor would run properly, but they refused and only wanted more money even though the problem was because they didn't check if it needed oil or not even though we explained that it would probably need it. Part of doing business is having to own up to your mistakes Regardless of how big or small they may be, these people have no intentions of owning up to anything. They just want to get your money.

It took 20 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge my presence and another 5 for the check in process to actually begin. 3. Vehicle was due oil change and cabin filter. Rep said it also was due an engine air filter. I requested they check the engine air filter and replace it if needed. He put those instructions on the invoice. 3. I went to breakfast with my sister. Rep said he would call when the truck was ready. I returned to the dealership at 12:30 - no phone call. I waited 10 minutes in the lounge and then went out to see what was going on. After a bit of a search- a different rep finally found the paperwork & key. 4. They had not replaced the cabin filter or the engine air filter even though the cabin filter definitely needed to be changed. So basically, it took them 2 hours 15 minutes just to change the oil. Another 5 minutes just to check out. They are very, very disorganized- polite but NOT customer focused. It is like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing...and again, not at all focused on the customer. I used to complain about KIA taking an hour for an oil change....but then I experienced the chaos of Riverside....never again.

After Shottenkirk Honda changed the recalled fuel pump in my Honda Pilot, an "Emissions System…read moreProblem" warning appeared as soon as I drove it off their lot. I returned to the dealership the same day and explained that this was the first time I had seen this warning, which only appeared after the fuel pump was replaced. I asked them to clear the code, thinking that would resolve the issue. The service technician informed me that the fuel pump might have been installed incorrectly and said they would fix it. I left my Honda Pilot with them, assured that the problem would be resolved. Later, they called to inform me that my purge valve needed to be replaced for $300--and that this issue was completely unrelated to the fuel pump replacement. I explained that the purge valve and fuel pump are indeed connected in the Honda Pilot. I have spoken with other mechanics who wholeheartedly agree that these components are connected. My mechanic cleared the error code, but when it returned, the code indicated an issue with the evaporative control system purge flow. The evaporative control system (EVAP) prevents gasoline vapors from escaping the fuel tank into the atmosphere. The P04F1 code for Honda vehicles indicates that low purge flow has been detected in the evaporative emission system. This system is responsible for controlling and capturing fuel vapors to reduce emissions. The purge valve may wear unevenly and intermittently stick, resulting in a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) related to the evaporative emission system purge flow malfunction. There were no error codes on my car when I gave it to them, and I believe there should be no codes when I get it back. Why do I now have the codes PO4F1 and PO441? However, they are refusing to pay for their mistake. What should I do? Update: In response to my last review, Shottenkirk offered me an opportunity to call and resolve the issue. However, after holding for ten minutes, I was only asked for my information and assured that someone would call me back. If they are genuinely interested in resolving this matter, they already possess all the necessary details to reach me, including the date, my name, and my car information that I provided in my recap of the situation. It's clear that they would rather focus on maintaining a positive public image online rather than directly addressing this issue. This approach is unacceptable. Update: I received a call back offering to trade in my vehicle. While I appreciate the offer, it is not necessary. I will not be purchasing from Honda Shottenkirk again, as they cannot fix their own mistakes

At the time, i owed them $322. They made me pay them $700 and then gave me a number to call. They had my car towed 2 hours away from me. I finally found a ride, only to get there and find my car isn't running. I called to ask what to do and the general manager accused me of cussing him, which I never did, I informed him due to my religion I don't cuss, so then he changed it to me being rude. He told me i could pay to have it towed, then pay to have it diagnosed, and then they MIGHT fix it. When I asked for corporates number, he originally told me to Google it. I finally got in touch with customer service, which was wonderful, but I still haven't heard back from any manager from corporate. I'm just a mom that works at a nursing home, I need my car in the same condition they picked it up in, or I need my money back so I can go somewhere decent. Do not use this company.
