The driving range was decent and the staff were great, but unfortunately the course conditions didn't match the price. The tee boxes and greens were in pretty rough shape, which made it hard to enjoy the round. The layout of the course also isn't the best, as there are several spots where other holes run close together and people are constantly hitting into your fairway. It also felt like there were always groups stacked up in front of you. I really wish the course was in better shape because it has some potential, but right now it just doesn't feel worth the money. read more

Pros - Once summer is under way, this course greens up well. Greens are soft and slow (good for beginners). Fairways are decent. A good value for the price. Cons - in June, several holes on the back (14,15,16) have stagnant water ponds and the mosquitos are horrible. I am not an avid golfer; however, I'm trying to golf more. My golfing instructor worked her for 3 years and recommended me come here. I have been here before but this time I was taking it more seriously. This is a great course for someone like me. They don't have strict rules as far as attire goes, even though I do I have proper attire. If you don't, it's no biggie. It's not the most beautiful course I have ever seen but it was still challenging. My husband and I came out and had a great time. He beat me but I didn't do too bad. I will definitely be back! I know the reviews are mixed and I'm not a "golfer" but my father has golfed here and he is an avid golfer, he also said it wasn't bad. Give it a chance! Just played the Executive course. It was terrrrible. Fairways were okay but tee boxes and greens were the worst I have ever played. The greens on the eighteen hole course that I could see along the way didn't look much better. We have been over 90 degrees every day for the past few weeks with little rain so that's probably part of problem. read more

Not worth it, it was over $50 for a round and half of the greens were more sand than grass. The other half were pretty awful too but not as bad. I've played here many times but stopped because the grass is terrible. Came back and figured it might have grown back in by now... but I was wrong. Talked with the staff after playing about the cost and condition and they told me no discount or refund. The driving range here is small, which is a pain, but the short course was a lot of fun to play. My buddy and I wanted to play a round of golf super last minute and literally every course was booked or wanted $100+ for a round, even Riverside Golf Links! As we paid for bucket of balls for the driving range the pro shop attendant said the 9-hole course was basically open. So we played it! It's still winter so the greens weren't green, but the course was empty and easy to play. Only two holes required a driver, 3 and 9, most you're good with only using irons. Decent course. There are definitely much nicer ones in the Nashville area but $33 for 18 ain't bad. The conditions are fair and the greens are in fine shape. Difficulty level is low. This is the absolute worst course I've ever played. $30 is overpriced it honestly should be $5 for 18 and a cart. No grass in the fairways and the greens are fluffy and slow. Dirt everywhere. Vinyl Links at Shelby is now better than riverside and it's a par3 course. Legacy, long hollow, country hills etc. bunch more that are way better than this place. Apparently in the last week or so the course has come under new management. It is too early to judge during these times what if any changes are going to happen. I have walked the executive (9 hole) course and ridden for the 18 hole course. Prices are a couple of bucks above metro parks. Driving range balls seem expensive. The driving range is grass and has plenty of room. There is little shade on really hot days. Having said that - this is an "open" course with not a ton of trees. The fairways are relatively open. Some of the greens are tiny "Dart boards" really forcing you to be accurate with your approach shots. Some of the greens have some burnout areas around the edges. I am not a huge fan of the new online tee reservation system. It forces you to pay a cart fee for the regular course and will not allow you to reserve 9 holes. You can reserve for the executive course. Overall this is a nice course that generally has tee times available during the weekdays. read more

I played this course when it was just a 3 par and a night course (loved to play it at night). When my buddy suggested it, I thought why not. I was greatly surprised to see it had grown into a 27 hole beauty. It is quite picturesque and plays really fun. The greens are in excellent shape and the difficulty to hit the fairways is perfect for us "weekend golfers". The club house food is excellent. The burger special is a MUST try. All in all, a fine day of golf was had by all. I am so glad my buddy discovered this new gem. I look forward to many more rounds at Riverside. read more

Course was in great shape for this time of the year. While we played, I saw employees filling in divots, blowing leaves from the fairways and ensuring that players maintained the proper pace. This course is not worth the time or money. First off it is 20 dollars to play an abysmal 9 hole "executive" course. You can play a metro real 9 hole course for that much. Second I had a 1145 tee time and there were two groups waiting to tee off with the earliest being 1130, so they were over 30 minutes behind schedule. It was honestly the worst golf course experience that I have ever had. Played the short nine hole course. Liked it. Hard to complain about the place when you can play for almost the same price as a bucket of balls and get around (walking) in under 50 minutes. Sure there's room for improvement in the fairways and tee boxes but these are the conditions you should expect for twelve bucks. Staff members seem fine although our interactions were brief. Can't speak for the alcohol situation but will definitely be heading back to play again so there will be another day to look into that. read more

My favorite thing about Riverside is that they have never lost that "small town golf course" feel. It's not a course that is PGA ready, nor does it boast the difficulty of other courses, but Riverside doesn't need to. It is a comfortable, relaxing course with an absolutely amazing staff. Greens and fairways are amazingly kept up for the price. Decent snack selection in the pro shop. Fantastic instructor Garrick Malone, always ready to offer a kind word, or quality instruction, especially for the juniors! I recommend this course for beginners, or players who simply want a relaxing, non rushed session. It's a course that your grandpa would tell stories of, it has a very nostalgic feeling and the staff make you feel like you've been a regular for years even if its only your first visit. Also, stopping by after a short work day and winding down on the Executive Course (short 9) is the perfect ending to the day. Riverside is an inexpensive, relaxed, old soul course that checks all the boxes without unnecessary accoutrements. It serves a purpose and let's people golf on a budget, at a much nicer than "budget" course. read more

I have never had a worse experience as a customer in my life. I purchased a Groupon for lessons and rounds of golf. When trying to play a round, I booked a tee time, and when we showed up they wouldn't let us play because the time of play was restricted for Groupons. They made us wait for over an hour when they weren't even busy. On top of everything, when I tried to ask and figure out why none of the details/restrictions were listed on the Groupon or emailed to me, I was told to calm down or get off their property. I will use the remainder of my lessons and rounds and NEVER give them another dime. Also, I spent hours online trying to figure out how to even book a lesson. The calendar they tell you look at has NO events for the whole year, and no one answers the phone number listed on the Groupon and signup emails. Also, the lessons expire BEFORE the date on the Groupon, which in itself is unethical. I also vouch for other reviews that the course is terrible. It's completely flooded in areas so you can't even drive your cart on the path. It would have been nearly impossible to walk your clubs and not get filthy. read more

the course was almost all dirt, tee boxes were hard as rocks, fairways weren't good at all the sand bunkers were ok but there was little rocks in them, greens were absolutely awful, I couldn't make any putts because of the awful greens. it rained a lot yesterday too so there isn't much of an excuse of rock hard fairways greens and teeboxes. This was the WORST golf experience I have had in 10 years. This course was in ABOMINABLE condition. It was akin to playing golf in Beirut. There was NO sand in the bunkers, the fairways were patchy and ignored, but the worst thing was the GREENS. They were DISEASED. Seriously. These people looked us in our eyes and claimed the course was in "good shape". If this is good shape, I'd hate to see what their home lawns look like. Thank God we only paid for 9 holes.
