Went in to buy some Beck's on June 26 around 4 pm. The attendant had told me that all they had was…read morebeing returned. I had asked to go out into the drive-through in order to have a look around. Unlike a previous attendant from a week earlier she did not appear pleased about this but did not stop me. I found 5 packages of Beck's; however, I was not allowed to have any of it since it was being returned. (Maybe I could have bought it all on a discount if it had been offered?) I was displeased with this but she was doing her job. So, no shade on her. My main concern with Lex is that when you drive in to the drive-thru you cannot really see what they are offering. There are racks of snacks in front of the coolers; and these coolers appear to have no light within them so you can see what is being offered. A driver has no real line of vision to see what is being offered on the right-hand side and the left-side is, as I just mentioned, covered with racks of snacks and the cooler lights are not on. Therefore, how can a customer actually tell what is being offered unless they get out of their car and look around, which is kind-of frowned on. Management needs to light-up those coolers and create a clearer view of their offerings. Otherwise, it is a good quick place to stop for spirits, which is amply displayed inside.

Fortunately, when Dean was close to retirement ( age 76) he decided to sell his equipment and recipes to another generation of Bratwurst makers. Unfortunately no one from Bucyrus picked up the torch and Southland drive thru closed. I was fortunate enough to find this article on the internet prior to coming back home to Bucyrus last week for a yearly visit. Bratworks recipes still live on outside of Tiffin, Ohio at Smith Family Frosted Foods. I am sharing a link below to the original article. I stopped in their retail store located at the plant where they produce some 200 UPC's and purchased some great Bratworks bratwurst. The people that run the operation are very friendly, and the retail store is worth the drive to checkout the other products they sell.
