Looking back, I am absolutely furious at how that dealership took advantage of my desperation when I needed a new car. The salesperson who took me out for the test drive flat-out lied to my face about the airbag light. They told me it was completely normal for the light to stay on, claiming that if the light was off, it meant the airbags weren't working. To make matters worse, when I noticed accident scratches on the rear sides and pointed them out, the owner rudely snapped at me, asking, "What do you want me to do about it?" Even though they eventually promised to fix and paint the scratches, they never did. On top of that, they forced me into paying for extra warranties and undercoating that I explicitly said I didn't want, lying to me that I couldn't get the car without them.Knowing what I know now, they got incredibly lucky. If I had known my rights back then, I would have reported them to OMVIC and sued them instantly for their dishonest, predatory practices. read more
