My family's experience with Amazing Explorers was deeply disappointing and unacceptable. Based on…read morewhat my husband, my son, and I personally experienced, I do not recommend this location. We had repeated concerns involving communication, professionalism, cleanliness, supervision, confidentiality, curriculum transparency, cultural awareness, and leadership. When we raised concerns, we were often met with dismissiveness, disrespect, defensiveness, and a lack of accountability. Owner Marcelo asked me, "What kind of mother are you?" because I had not brought a towel for my son. I found that cruel and inappropriate, especially while I was trying to understand why my child had been placed in another child's underwear. That was alarming, unsanitary, and deeply upsetting. Instead of receiving an immediate apology and explanation, I felt blamed. Marcelo also told me he was in Las Vegas and would address the matter when he returned. A serious concern involving a child's hygiene and care should not be delayed because an owner is traveling. In my experience, he appeared more concerned about me leaving a negative review than correcting what had happened. Kelsey promised to follow up with me regarding an important concern and never did. Her failure to respond made me feel that our concerns were not being taken seriously. Based on my experience, she showed the same lack of accountability I experienced from Marcelo. The current director, Aya, Mary, and regional director Mio were also extremely disappointing. In my opinion, all three need serious additional training in childcare administration, communication, professionalism, confidentiality, conflict resolution, and accountability. During one call, Mary told me she would hang up while my child was still physically inside the school. I did not yell, curse, insult anyone, or behave rudely. I was calmly asking questions about my son. Threatening to hang up on a calm parent while that parent's child is inside the facility is a serious problem. Parents should also not be denied information about the school's curriculum. Families have every right to know what their children are being taught and how the program is structured. Refusing to provide that information raises concerns about transparency. I was also disturbed by what appeared to be gossip involving parents and private family matters. Information allegedly shared about families made its way back to several mothers. Parents should be able to raise concerns without fearing that their private business will be discussed with others. My son was sent to school clean, neatly groomed, with freshly braided hair, clean clothing, and quality shoes. We spend hundreds of dollars each month making sure he has everything he needs. Yet I repeatedly picked him up extremely dirty, with food or other substances around his mouth and on his clothing. I understand children get messy, but there is a difference between normal play and failing to provide basic care after meals and activities. The cameras were unreliable, the playground lacked adequate equipment for an extended period, and I did not feel Black history or Black culture was meaningfully represented. After repeated disrespect, broken promises, poor communication, hygiene concerns, unreliable cameras, gossip, lack of curriculum transparency, and a complete loss of trust, my husband and I removed our son because the school was no longer a good fit for our family. The school may deny or dispute this review, but I would never invent something this serious. This is what my family experienced, and I have retained documentation relating to my concerns. Based solely on our personal experience, I do not recommend this place. Parents deserve honesty, professionalism, transparency, accountability, properly trained staff, and respectful communication. Most importantly, children deserve better.

Warning!!! Be careful enrolling your child in VPK!!! Amazing…read moreExplore Academy is deceitful, dishonest, unprofessional, and took advantage of me. My son used to go there. Around May, they sent an email saying that if I wanted to register him for VPK, I needed to fill out a form indicating "yes" and pay $100 to save his spot. They took my $100. My son was taken out for summer break to spend time with family, and he was supposed to return last Tuesday. Last Friday, I decided to stop by to make sure everything was good for his return on Tuesday. The lady at the front desk told me that he would not be in the VPK program because they had not received the form I filled out, and they had given his spot to someone else. I explained that no one had called me, left me a message, or tried to reach me. I also asked what the point of paying $100 was if they were not going to save his spot. They told me he could stay in the 3-4-year-old class. I have emailed them, but no one has responded to me. Basically, I feel like they took my money without providing what I paid for. Luckily, I found a better school for my son, and he is so much happier there. The staff is also wonderful.

The tour lady told my daughter as she got there 6 minutes late with a huge smile, oh good morning you look ready but too bad you won't go in the trip, really strange behavior not sure why she would act that way maybe she is afraid of her manager? If YOU EXPECT parents to get there by a certain time, then the least you could do is REMIND them HELLO BY PHONE? or email? I paid for a service, STOP making excuses on why you are not providing the service you PROMISED. START facilitating parents who PAID for your help. I have signed up my daughter for over 30 camps over her lifetime and never had an experience like that EVER. You could have CHOSEN to be kind, but you chose to be mean to a child. This is my second child and I used to work for a local AEYC affiliate (they accredit child cares). I have been in more child care centers then I can count and I have seen high quality child cares as well as ones that were just awful. As a parent my oldest daughter was in 2 child care centers as an infant. I chose this location as it is right off the 408 and on my way to work. When I toured this facility I was met by Karin the director. She clear about her guidelines and rules which I found very helpful. While the infant room seemed small at first glance, it's really the perfect size. They do not use fabric swings and bouncy seats (they always got my eldest daughter sick when she was a baby so this made me happy.) The teachers use the floor and give the babies lots of tummy time. This may seem weird to new parents but it really is the better way according to NAEYC guidelines. The room is kept very clean. This center also provides food and formula. Diapers are also available for a small fee (totally worth it!). The two teachers Bella and Martha are wonderful. My child lights up when she sees them both. The one or two times I had concerns or questions I always felt listened to. My issues were always resolved very quickly. And the director ALWAYS followed up. When I had a concern about my daughter's flat head from her stay in the NICU (she was a preemie and started at school at 3 months at 8lbs), EVERYONE was accommodating. I even had Wanda the assistant director talk to me about it in passing, "I see she's really doing well on her tummy time!" I would say La Petite on Goldenrod and Lake Underhill is truly a hidden gem. Competitive pricing too. I love the auto pay! I love the diaper and wipes service.

From the first few minutes we met Fiona and toured the school I decided that was where I wanted her to be. Fiona is an amazing director, the school is clean and welcoming. She is very safety conscious and has emergency plans in place. They serve the kids great food and each classroom has a tight schedule that they stick to, which really helps my daughter stick to a routine during the week. The outdoor space is huge and they take all the kids out atleast once a day. Fiona is very attentive and it is visible that she loves her job. I never worry about my daughter while she is there and anytime that I had, Fiona quickly made those fears go away. If you are searching for a daycare for your child look no further, you will not be disappointed.

I have actually…read morenoticed some changes, such as bilingual signage & "now hiring" hasn't been up for several months. I will check into the school as my daughter will be ready for VPK this fall. This is my second tIme writing a review for this daycare/preschool. My original review was made shortly after my daughter was removed, I removed it because I didn't feel it was fair. I will start with the positives, once the children leave the infant room the school is highly focused on routines & learning (could also be a negative). When my daughter started at her new preschool that has accredited teachers & nationwide locations, I was told that she was too advanced for the younger 2's & would need to be moved up should I choose to stay. My daughter loved being dropped of when she waS in the infant room, Ms. Luz was the highlight of her day. We had behavioral issues shortly after being moved to the 1's room with my daughter, which I believe was due to the strict routines which in most cases helps children, but not always. One teacher absolutely loved her, while the older teacher constantly had issues. When she was 1 & a half she was moved to the 2's as a solution to her behavior. Within a short period of time I started receiving calls to pick her up because "they didn't have the resources to deal with hEr". I'll add that I live near by & pass everyday to drop my older child at school, they are constantly hiring. The calls started happening weekly, I couldn't keep leaving work because she was over tired & having a melt down instead just letting tHe kid lay down 30 minutes before schedule. I went to pick her up one day & she was left in the foyer area between the 2 rooms, crying since they called (45 mins) another time she was left in the high chair. At this point I was honest & advised Fiona that I may need to remove her & asked what would be ample notice for the school? She indicated 2 weeks. Within a couple of weeks I started getting calls every other day. The 2nd week she called me at work & said I needed to pick her up indefinitely. So I had already paid, because they require you to pay a head & I was given no notice that I no longer had child care. I just felt that a business with that many years experience should handle things better. It's not a bad school, my daughter was kept alive, very few incidents of getting hurt & as I stated early she is advanced fOr her age.
