Check-in is super easy, they will leave your entire packet in a mailbox outside for you if you'll be coming in late. The receptionist was so nice and helpful. She recommended we get a few cords of wood for the fire pit, and even gave us kindling to get it going. The cabins themselves are pretty comfortable, too. Ours had a primary bedroom on the main floor and a loft bedroom upstairs with 2 full beds. We enjoyed a full kitchen with a dining table and a living room with a couch and two chairs. The best thing about the cabin, though, was the back porch! It came with a porch swing and several rocking chairs which overlooks the gently flowing stream. So very peaceful! And you can see the rise of the mountains just off in the distance. Our cabin was one of the first ones near the entrance and was perched high up on the hill. Great views, but impossible for me to walk down to the stream. The next time I book a cabin, I will make sure to get one farther down that has a more flat walkway to the stream. The stream area has a firepit, a hammock, and small beach area for wading. There is also a playground on site along with a covered picnic area with grills. You may also rent Yurts or bring your RV. I didn't go to that part of the property, so no report on that. There is so much to love about this property, but my two favorite things were the resort cat who visited us every time we came out on the back porch and leaving my screen door open to fall asleep to the sounds of the stream and the cool air. Such a charming place!!

What is wrong is the care and love in maintaining the campground is non existent. Sent here on a recommendation from someone who had been here years ago. The bathhouse was disgusting has not been cleaned in years, there are several permanent campers in premium spots who's campers have tarps, duct tape and permanently installed window air conditioners. It would take so little to spruce it up with a fire pit, chairs along river and maybe even rake, sweep and maintain sites???

Price was a very reasonable $20, or $10 for persons with a NPS Senior Pass. Check-in was easy. (5/5). We arrived after-hours, and were able to find our site easily. The site itself (4/5) was very good. We particularly liked that the site was enclosed by rhododendron bushes; it must be incredible when the flowers are blooming. There was ample room for our Honda Pilot, a picnic table, fire ring, and the pad for our tent. While close to the road, you can't see the tent site from the road. The site is an easy walk to the restroom along the road (NOT an uneven path). Not a 5-star site for a few small reasons. The loop with RVs was behind us, and an RV there was running its generator, seemingly for all allowed hours. Also, previous occupants had cut a path to the adjoining site, which led to our neighbor's picnic table. As a result, there was a lack of privacy. Location of the Mount Pisgah Campground. (5/5). It's very close to a lot of interesting sites on and off the Parkway. We particularly enjoyed the drive towards to Brevard with multiple easy-access waterfalls. It's also very close to the Mt. Pisgah Inn, which has a restaurant, shop, and amazing deck with views of the mountains. Finally, this campground has hot showers! As we were driving the full Parkway, and tent camping along the way, hot showers were much appreciated! The restrooms were clean. (5/5) The campground felt safe. (5/5).

Some people really need a reminder that hospitality starts with being hospitable…read more We were staying at Bear Creek in Asheville and drove around the campground because we were unfamiliar with the property and wanted to see the amenities. A woman in a white Toyota 4Runner followed my daughter extremely closely until my daughter pulled over and let her pass. Hours later, the same woman pulled up beside my daughter at our campsite and approached her with a very rude attitude. When my daughter recognized her as the woman who had been following her earlier, she said she was "just checking the place" because she was the owner's daughter. That may be true, but it certainly doesn't excuse the way she treated a paying guest. There are ways to check on your property without making guests feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. Being the owner's daughter is not a free pass to be disrespectful!!! GREAT JOB BEAR CREEK !!

I was impressed at how well the park was maintained, everything was clean and well kept. Staff was friendly and helpful in meeting our needs. The mountain coaster was great fun. The kids loved the wi-bit obstacle course at the lake and the sports courts. I loved driving the golf cart we rented around the park because the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains were beautiful. It also made me feel like a kid again to see Yogi, Cindy and BooBoo bears roaming around the park. I recommend this as a good wholesome family vacation that won't break the bank. We rented 6 sites close to each other and informed all our neighbors we would be celebrating that weekend. All neighbors had no problems with my group except the owners of the establishment. We have been going there for years now and did not expect the owners to have such a problem with us. We were told to be quiet two ours before quiet time each night while our neighboring campers had not heard us. We feel we were targeting for no reason. Would never go there again even though we have been going for years prior. A friend of mine posted a review and the owner deleted it. The owner doesn't like people and should not be working this business. If I could do a negative 5 review I would!!!!!!! Never again
