    Mother's Day Celebration 2026

Had Mother's day celebration at the Riverfront restaurant. Service and food were excellent. Steak was cooked to perfection and green beans texture were perfect for taste. Very generous portions. Had great experience.

RiverFront is one of the best places to eat it the Abbeville area. Like it's name suggests, it is situated on the west bank of the Vermilion River. The name might also lead you to assume that they have great seafood, and you would be correct there as well! The RiverFront is located in a new spacious facility with both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoors is decorated with charming wooden sculptures of birds, fish, alligators, and more. The waitstaff are friendly and helpful, and will whisk you off to your seating. If you ask for a table in the back, you can watch the River roll by as you dine. The menu includes everything one would expect in Cajun country. You have beautifully stuffed Po-Boys, soups, salads, seafoods, steaks, and Cajun home style favorites. I usually just ask for the special, as it's always great. Most dishes come with two sides of your choice, so you can go hearty or healthy as you wish. Some of my favorite entrees are the crab cakes, seafood trinity, and hamburger streak (I am a simple man). Prices are moderate, so you can enjoy without guilt.

The French Onion Soup was divine! Tasted as rustic and delicious as it looks!

We definitely had a 5 star experience from the welcome to the food, service and live music! The hostess greeted us with a genuine welcome and smile which just sets the tone for the experience. We chose to sit on the screened in patio where we received excellent service from Reese. She let us know the specials and gave us great recommendations along with attentive service throughout our time there. The food is delicious! Everything we ordered came out hot, or cold, timed perfectly and cooked beautifully. We started with the oysters which were tender and tasty along with a cup of French Onion soup which was nice and rich and rustic. For entrees we had the Shrimp & Grits and the pasta with crab cake. The crab cake stole the show, next time I'll get the entree! The grits are thick and hearty and the shrimp is cooked nice and tender and it's all spiced just right. The finishing touches of live music made for the perfect evening!

Awesome service from Maddie. Check out pics. Wedge salad had croutons and dressing. Period. No bacon, no tomatoes...... nothing. Wife did not want her bacon or tortilla chips so I put her bacon on mine. Look at the Cobb salad. It's loaded. Both about same price. The wedge salad is a ripoff. Paid extra for the chicken.

Our best meal so far while visiting Lafayette area!! Mom enjoyed her Blueberry Lemonade Martinis while my husband and I shared a bowl of seafood gumbo with a nice roux, fresh shrimp and large crab lumps! Then we (mom, hubby, and I) shared the avocado crab salad with balsamic vinaigrette, shrimp trinity (freshest we had on our trip), Tasso cabbage and grilled veggies. The host and waitress were very sweet and accommodating!!

Great food. The outside screened porch seating is nice when it's cool. Live band just on weekends I think.

Good selection of seafood and other dishes. A bit on the pricey side, but nice place, and on the river.

They can cook a mean, juicy chicken! If you go get the crab dip appetizer, you can almost get it as a meal!!

Having a wonderful dinner outside, with torches, on the deck, by the river, with live band was an excellent choice that evening.

Our waitress was very sweet and attentive at first, but seemed a bit annoyed when I mentioned I was charged for something I didn't receive. The prices are reasonable. I even toured the kitchen where they make the magic happen & was introduced to the owner, Mr Donni -- a huge fan of my dad, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown. He was as warm & welcoming as they come. A true crawfish boil master, with the most impressive technique for assuring the best flavor possible. I really enjoyed learning about the production and selection process for the best boiled crawfish Louisiana has to offer. The added bonus was getting to taste huge, select crawfish (no smallsies), seasoned to absolute perfection -- spicy and not overly salty. Delicious mixed drinks, great small beer selection that was served in a frosty mug & groovy playlist curated by Brooke, one of their most amazing associates. If you think you've had great crawfish, I beg you to take a trip to Abbeville to try this hidden gem. Their fried shrimp are amazing as well. You will not be disappointed. Call ahead to check their hours, as they are only serving during peak crawfish season & specific times to guarantee the best selection.

The Park has a big breakfast following. They do pancakes and omelettes in addition to their standard breakfast fare. If you get a chance you should certainly try their Sweet Potato Pancakes! A Southern speciality! I am usually in the Park for lunch, and they are excellent for a midday meal. It should be mentioned that if you want to eat breakfast for lunch, they will accommodate you till 2PM! If you want a more traditional lunch, they have a daily Plate Lunch that pairs a hearty entree with rice and two sides. They also have a great selection of sandwiches ranging from a simple BLT to loaded Po-Boys. There's also a Crab Patty Burger for something delicious and different! But that's not all! There's soups, salads, and seafood! There's also a Short Order section of the menu. For the health conscious, there's a selection of grilled seafood served with grilled broccoli! There's also dessert! Usually there's slices of three to four pies, and often bread pudding. This will be a great finish for a homestyle meal. It's a small historic building, that's not too fancy. Parking is across the road and it seems to have been an old gas station or something like that, maybe. Though the inside does look like a house. They only serve two things, crawfish and shrimp, and boiled corn and sausage if want them with your seafood order. That said, since I went with a group I was able to bring in my own food. This review is based on the others experience, plus my own about the ambiance. The ambiance is truly great, it just feels good with pictures on the wall and the while package. If you're looking for glitzy stuff this isn't the place, if your looking for awesome food, this is the place. Restaurant is very clean and tidy, yet aged. From what the others have said the seafood here is second to none, and very reasonably priced. There is nothing negative that they mentioned and even the inexperienced crawfish eaters had a blast. The experienced ones keep coming back for more, almost exclusively to this place for crawfish. The seafood is perfectly seasoned and served piping hot! Can get it to go too! The cocktail sauce is a make your own thing though they provide the ingredients. They also serve cans of soda as well as bottles of water. Limited hours Monday through Friday, weekends they're open more. If in the area, and you went good crawfish or shrimp, this is a must eat at place! Don't think twice, just come here!
