Guests can enjoy a seating area at the top of the hill and there is a nearby shack that provides firewood and propane for convenience.Some of the park's sites include cozy cabins, each furnished with a comfortable chair, desk, and a generous king-size bed, along with a window offering views of the RV area. The shower water in the community shower is barely lukewarm. I asked the lady at the front desk,…read moreand she said the shower was cold because of the type of push button shower knob and there was nothing they could do to fix the cold shower water. A bit later I was able to get a sneak peek at the hot water heaters and they were turned all the way down to the lowest possible temperature setting. This maybe fine during the summer but it is now headed into winter and the park refuses to provide hot shower water in the community restroom. Other than the cold shower water, the park is very clean and well maintained.

The beach park section of Larrabee park is gorgeous. There's ample parking, then a decent that's…read moreabout a 45 second walk to a grassy lawn and a beautiful stage built in the early 1900s. There were people performing music on the stage and park goers enjoying on the grass. Just to the left of the stage there's a path to the beach. Another 2-3 minute descent brings you to a trail going left and right. The path to the left is a short trail to a rock you can sit on and climb down to get to the water. Further that way there's another beach. The path to the right leads to a nice beach with a great view and a shade tree. There were some bugs in the washed up kelp, but nothing too bothersome imho. We had a stand up paddleboard so we used the path on the right after the stage area. I would recommend anyone bringing gear down (scuba, kayaks, paddleboards) to use this beach. Larger crafts can use the boat ramp just north of this beach, and you can drive right up to that ramp (north of the stage and parking area). It was a beautiful park and a great place to picnic, enjoy the water, and view the sunset!

I did remove a star due to the bizarre interaction with staff members. The nosy lady at the front desk was rude and told us "I'm watching you" because we waited an hour to check in. Also we backed into our spot so we could wake up to a view of the water but within seconds the big bad security guy came and corrected us. Apparently that's not allowed, which is really weird. After that we were public enemy number 1 bc the front desk was very accusatory and flat out weird towards us. Side note: the road in is a one way so whenever you leave the park you're forced to drive into town and turn around. Not a big deal but noteworthy

It's not a fun park unless you're a kid. Then it's a blast with a playground that has those weird…read morecircular htings that swing you around with your weight and other fancy playground items. But this park is more about the sunset. I was in town as a day trip and the weather was so nice that I wanted to check out the sunset. We sat there people watching on the bench as the sun started sinking over the water. People walked out down the pier and it made for really nice pictures. Once the sun went down, people left because there was a chill in the air, but until that moment, the sunset was magical. Definitely glad we hung around for twilight.

I have been a KOA VIP member for 5 years, staying at more than 25 (TWENTY-FIVE) KOA locations. I…read morehave not been treated as poorly, or even close to it, at any other locations. I see that the Burlington location is for sale, hopefully the new owners will hire a new staff, or at least offer better training...until then I called the office number well before 11, stating that I would need a little longer to check out of my site (minor RV issue, not uncommon). I was told that there was someone else coming in (at 2 pm) and I assured her I would be out by noon. End of conversation- no indication of extra fees. At 11:58 am, I was IN the office being demanded to pay a $10 LATE FEE. I was not told of this charge and I was also not an hour late getting out of my site. In addition, when I checked-in (6 pm the prior evening) I parked at the "stop" sign, which is often how KOAs indicate where they'd like you "stop" to check-in, the front office staff was appalled, making-fun of where I parked & completely rushed me out, making me feel awful for such an innocent mistake. I can honestly say, that was a KOA first, too. Usually, the rules & regulations, amenities, local attractions, firewood, etc...are discussed, social niceties are exchanged, and often an escort to sites is provided-not at the Burlington KOA, I guess. Oh! And...no shade, sites are SUPER close together, neighbor's car alarm went off for a while at 5 am and then they packed up loudly at 7 am lol, the dog run is TINY & terribly overgrown, and...and..and! Just stay somewhere else. Thankfully this location has been a KOA customer service anomaly.

It was still overcast, but no rain can be a plus when out hiking. The entrance to the park is well marked and there is a parking lot for those who are at the park for day use like we were. After parking our car we set out to explore the trails down to the river and back. Informational signs spot the trail and provide background and helpful tidbits if you are on the look-out for wildlife or their tracks. The mosquitos were fiercest at the parking lot and a number of them bit me through my clothing. Coming back I'd wear more layers or insect repellent if trying not to get bit. The trail we walked ran along the Skagit River for a short bit then twisted through the woods and back to the parking lot. On the way out to the Skagit River we passed a clearing. The grass was tall in the clearing center, but around the edges the grass had been cut to provide a walking path if one so yearned. We encountered mostly birds on our visit in terms of wildlife. The park itself wasn't too busy when we arrived, but we started to see more people by the time we departed. Restrooms were clean and we maintained our social distance.

We are annual members of Thousand Trails, renewing yearly…read more We have just returned from a 2wk visit to Mt Vernon TT. This year TT are assigning campsites and so far they've been good. Our site was a little shady but clean and roomy. We have an average sized travel trailer (self contained) so a full hook up was not necessary and there was a restroom close by. But, the problem was the men's side looked vandalized and nearly unusable. I felt bad for the folks who had paid for hurts in that area. The women's side was cleaned daily but the showers needed more attention, hair and dirt under the mats.

I camp regularly with friends, this was my friends and my first time in this particular camp and now the pros. Pro: Showed up late but the guy at the front was super kind and even gave us a little time to rinse off before leaving the pool. We had a hoot, the place was quiet and we were able to celebrate a friends birthday and star gaze. The cons: The lady in the cart with the power trip. She's got to go. Not only did she feel the need to SCREAM at us but she also wanted to sit there and lecture. nope. unfortunately, alot of other people have had this interaction with her and she either needs coaching or what not. the other campers around us were super kind and its a sham that with all the amenities it still soured out FIRST time on this lot.
