Greens have been in good shape both times I've played this summer and there always seems to be people out working on the course. My Dad and I had a great time playing the course both times. The Monster, the longest par 5 in the state, is a really cool hole that will challenge any golfer. I love the terrain at this course too. For a 100-year-old course, this place is solid. Any old course will have challenges that a new course doesn't have and that needs to be considered. It's a little on the pricey side, but I think it's worth it. If you focus on the golf, Brae Burn is a great place. Some of the surroundings (cart paths, water hazards, and the golf carts) aren't in the greatest shape. The clubhouse is also old and could use an update.

From start to finish, we were essentially shadowed by the course ranger (picture attached), who approached us four separate times accusing us of slow play, despite us doing everything we could to keep pace. We immediately allowed a single player behind us to play through. When asked, we also let a scramble group behind us pass... even though scramble formats typically understand there will be occasional waiting. Yes, we had 5 players (we paid for all 5) but to avoid slowing anyone down, only 3/4 of us played each hole. Two of our newer players only played two holes each total, again, to keep up the pace of play. We explained this to the ranger multiple times. He didn't care. Instead, on the 8th hole, he told us that management wanted us to split up for the 9th hole. Of course we agreed but that made no sense and actually slowed us down more than our original system. The part that really highlighted the inconsistency: while we were being micromanaged for simply playing respectfully, we also witnessed a grown man screaming obscenities at the top of his lungs and throwing his club repeatedly. There were kids on the course, yet the ranger seemed completely unbothered by that behavior. In short, we did everything right, let others play through, limited how many of us were hitting, and prioritized pace of play. But we were still treated like a problem, while actual disruptive behavior went unchecked. We won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone who values respectful play and fair treatment.

Audrey was great to work with and the operations team executed everything within our contract without any hiccups or surprises. Food quality: 5 stars- everyone enjoyed the food that I preselected for a buffet style lunch. Banquet food has the potential to be bland and boring, but Fox Hills delivered resturant quality food that I would happily order again. Everything was set up at the desired time and the staff made it seamless, so as not to disturb our meeting. You can tell that they do a lot of banquets and have the details dialed in. Value: I priced out options from a few area venues before choosing Fox Hills. The menu of options and food are straightforward and good value. It's not cheap, but the quality for money made it a good fit for me. Not having for worry about separate vendors and invoices made it simple. I've planned a fair number of large events, and this is a bigger deal than most newbies think. Atmosphere: The venue is classy enough to host a formal reception and comfortable enough for business casual. I felt comfortable having my group of business owners use all of the facilities. The view from the rooms is beautiful. Golf: With multiple courses to choose from, this really makes Fox Hills stand out compared to the local completion. There is a scenic course for every skill level. Overall: I've hosted events at multiple venues, including Top Golf. While I've had good experiences elsewhere, Fox Hills checks a lot of boxes and I would recommend them to a friend. (The food is way better than Top Golf and I know a lot of people think Top Golf is pretty good) One local competitor, Saint John's, is undergoing a massive overhaul and rebranding. I'm curious to see how it stacks up to Fox Hills. It's nice to have so many quality options in the Plymouth area, including Fox Hills.

The course really isn't all that busy so it was easy to get out most of the time. That meant that I could get a lot of golf in with my 7-year-old son who is just learning to golf. The course was in really good condition for most of the year and took a bit of a step back after golf season, but that's fine with me given that the money raised there goes to make the membership a lot more affordable. The course has a lot of variety and is quite had in places, so there is a lot to keep you coming back for. The restaurant is also very good. We enjoyed taking our kids there throughout the year.

Golf balls struck both my and other vehicles while driving west down the city street of E. Stadium…read moreBlvd with such force that my windshield is now totaled. The concussive impact while I was in motion driving sounded like my car had been shot with a gun. Had any of these golf balls hit a person in the head they would likely be dead. Police report made with Ann Arbor city police. I went over to The Ann Arbor Golf and Outing and spoke with the *district manager* who was there on duty sitting with a group of men at the golf clubhouse bar. I requested a word with him and showed him the fresh damage to my vehicle. He stated that they have no contingency plan to prevent balls from going over their fence and striking cars or people saying it just happens sometimes with bad shots. I pointed out that once should be more than enough to look into preventative solutions and that other vehicles had been struck by different golf balls in the same time frame as Ann Arbor Police were already on scene taking report from other drivers who's vehicles were struck and damaged while driving down the busy city street. I reminded the Golf and Outing Club manger that the stretch of E. Stadium Blvd directly in front of them is also directly in front of The University of Michigan's Big House Stadium and is frequented regularly by an enormously high volume of pedestrians including children on a daily basis. When I asked him directly if preventative safety would be initiated by him now alerting the golfers to be careful, the Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club district manager laughed saying that they were currently having a tournament and he would absolutely *not* tell his golfers to shoot more carefully. Clearly transmitting and demonstrating the attitude of not caring at all about the avoidable danger the Ann Arbor Good and Outing district manager then just strolled away from me back to the golf clubhouse bar. Speaking with my auto insurance provider I am told the smallest amount of money it is going cost to repair my completely totaled windshield will be $500 out-of-pocket. For our household that is not insignificant. Maybe it is laughable for the district manager at the Golf and Outing golf club and its members, but it's certainly not a joke for our single mother household. Anyone who golfs there should understand completely that Ann Arbor Golf & Outing Club is fully aware and not at all bothered or concerned about pedestrian safety or automotive safety whatsoever. Someone is going to get seriously injured/die from being struck with a golf ball unless the Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club agrees to address their safety failure. The fact that they were so nonchalant in caring or expressing any care about safety of people on a public street really was shockingly impressive.

Totally enjoyed my round at Hudson Mills in mid-July when the condition of the fairways and greens…read morewas fabulous! The course maxes out at a challenging 6,560 yards from the blue tees. I found the pin placements today to be especially demanding and a true test of my ability to read greens. The real beauty of the Hudson Mills track gets rolling on the back 9 with two long, back-to-back Par 5s that cut through thick and towering hardwoods. Back there, I could have sworn I was playing "Up North". I also want to toss an appreciative shout out to everyone associated with this public golf course. To the person, everyone I interacted with from the clubhouse manager to the snack bar gal to the course ranger to the grounds crew was genuinely friendly and courteous. The tone set at Hudson Mills definitely enhanced the enjoyment of my round. I like the way they roll here!

A day and a course I will always remember. The staff recognized the Ace with a certificate, a very nice gesture from the course.
