We were driving up from Chicago, we had previous reservations at a boarding facility near home, but decided to bring them along for the car ride and try out Pampered Paws. Wow - so impressed! Hard pressed to find a place even similar to the space and daycare that is offered here versus our handful of places towards the city. Our two dogs were there for 2 nights and slept the entire way home afterwards - you could tell they loved it! The report card stated exactly what we would have figured (one pup being so energetic and the other being ADDICTED to human love haha!). We will be recommending to everyone near and far if they are planning on heading towards the Dells! Looking forward to our next trip that way so Winnie & Wilson can hang with the crew again! She was extremely professional and prepared- she came to my home masked (COVID-19) for the interview/initial set-up and was amazing! We went over pet health, where pet supplies were, what my kitty's habits/likes/dislikes are, if there were any household things like mail or plant watering that needed to be taken care of, contacts in case of emergency, etc. It took a few visits for my kitty to come out to visit with her, but she was very understanding and patient! (Maisie Cat had a very hard life before me.) Now when Elizabeth visits she meets her at the top of the stairs, purring! Elizabeth usually sends me a quick text saying everything is fine on the days she visits and when I arrive home there is a detailed sheet with all kinds of updates. There were a few days when my schedule changed last minute and I texted Elizabeth, asking if she could switch visit dates. She worked with me when she could and was very flexible!

The kennels were clean and Jen and Lilly were friendly and knowledgeable. I liked too that the dogs had a way to go in and out to a fenced area when they wanted. I really liked too that Evergreen was not some huge commercial kennel where I had to worry about interactions with other strange dogs while I was away. To the contrary, it was instead this quaint clean friendly place where my dogs would have individual attention and play time as well supervised walks in their beautiful wooded setting. While the setting and property is remote, it's only a few minutes off of I-39 so it is convenient too!

I also don't feel like they listen well to my concerns, and have repeated labs that incurred additional charges, and given prescriptions for meds (ear cleaner) that they know I can't get into one dog's ears. I long considered getting a second opinion on my oldest dog who is 17 but has been very happy and healthy until this last year. I'd planned to transfer to another clinic that is easier to get in touch with, and requested copies of my pets' records over 2 months ago. At that time, I was told by the receptionist (Dr. Terry's wife, who is a wholly unpleasant person to deal with) that copies of charts cost $20 each, unless we have them sent directly to another clinic. I requested the records be sent over to my other clinic of choice at that time, and it was not done. Since then, the other clinic has requested my records multiple times on my behalf, to no avail. I finally have run out of patience, as my oldest dog now has an appointment at this other clinic tomorrow, and I was told (after 2 phone calls and an email) that I had to pay $20 and wait 7 to 10 days for his records to be sent. Additionally, I was told that I misunderstood the vet's wife 2 months ago, and that charts cost $20 regardless (I didn't, and my partner was given the same information at that time from the same person, independently of myself). I paid them their $20 so my new vet can compare labs on my old boy, and help make him more comfortable in what is likely to be the last few months of his life. Dr. Terry is a gentle and kind vet, but his wife should not be involved in the business at all, and I question their unsavory business practices. If you care about your pets, don't bring them here. All they seem to be after is money. They just got the last $20 I'll ever give them.

Second, dogs with a retained testicle are more likely to develop a testicular tumor (cancer) in the retained testicle. Finally, dogs with a retained testicle typically develop the undesirable characteristics associated with intact males like urine marking and aggression.)
