Brenna was just incredible helping us with our rescue, June. We've had her for a couple years and…read moreshe was always super leash reactive, barking at just about every dog, bike, and skateboard that she saw. After 3 sessions at SMS, June is able to walk with us with no problem. I genuinely wouldn't believe it if you told me she would improve this much a month ago. I can't recommend SMS and Brenna specifically enough!

Fantastic experience. We have a highly, highly energetic 2 year old Wheaton Terrier (Tilly!)…read more During our consultation, Greg took the time to understand our specific goals we had for Tilly's training. He walked thru the training technique and schedule, being sure to answer any questions or concerns we had. We scheduled three, full day trainings - spread over 3 weeks so that we would have practice time in between each lesson. We would drop Tilly off in the AM, pick her up in the afternoon. When we arrived back at the facility, my husband and I had an hour with the trainer and Tilly to walk through what they went over in the day. We also got a "Report Card" after each lesson that highlighted how it went. Super helpful. Brenna trained Tilly on the 1st and 3rd day and Jada trained Tilly on the 2nd day. Each were fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful and knowledgeable. They walked through the training collar process, commands and walking habits. They helped Tilly go from pulling on her harness to complete loose leash walking, how to get into her "Place", how to heal, and how to stay focused while around other distractions (dogs, cars, people, etc). Facilities were clean, well managed. Highly recommend Sit Means Sit, Brenna, Jada and Greg!

Independently, they all behave well, add 3 other dogs and chaos ensues!. We contacted John for help. He quickly identified behaviors they needed to work on, one being impulse control and worked with them 3 times a week. Then we met with John and he showed us what he was doing with our dogs so we can continue the training. At the end of each week John works with our dogs and us to ensure the training transfers from John to us. Our dogs are significantly calmer now and look to us for directions. We have young grandsons who have been able to play with all of the dogs and not be afraid of getting knocked down His methods have been very successful for both us and our dogs. John has a knack with dogs. They trust him and have fun figuring out what behaviors he wants them to do. We hope to have John a part of our dogs lives even as the training piece is ending. He shares great insights, and all while in your home to maximize positive outcomes.

John came to our house and amazed me at how he knew exactly how to correct our dog. He came 4 times and I can see a big difference already. She is like a different dog. I could tell that Tyrese knew what he was doing the first time he came to our house and met our…read moredog. He has such a calm and commanding manner. He's not trying to be a dog whisperer--some mystic with secret skills. It's about teaching both the dog and the owner about behavior that works. He's a teacher. I want to shout out his colleague, Derek, for also doing great work. I recommend A Howling Good Time unreservedly.

Absolute waste of money, do NOT send your dog here for dog training…read more We have a 3 year old black lab and she has some dog aggression when certain other dogs come by her nose. So we talked to A howling good time, and they said they could help with the issue. They recommended the 3 week board and train program. Which was $4,000. We were willing to pay that if it could help our dog. But it did NOT! We brought her home did everything a howling good time told us to do and absolutely nothing has changed. She still won't let other dogs by her. We have a 6 month old lab and we have to keep gates up in the house to keep them separated. We have tried slowly bringing them together and she has bitt the puppy twice now and drew blood luckily no vet visits yet. They said they worked on obedience training with her, we took videos of everything she knew how to do before we brought her to training, she knew sit, stay, come, lay down, roll over, shake, and place and was good on a leash so she knew all the basics. Literally all we needed was for them to work on 1 thing. A howling good time sent us videos while she was at training. I think we got maybe 2 videos the whole time she was there of them working on the dog aggression, all the rest of the videos were of them with no other dogs around working on the commands she already knew, not at all what we payed for or wanted. They gave us a new E-collar which it is nice but we pretty much payed $4000 for an E collar and for her staying there ridiculous. I am sending our new lab puppy to a 1 month obedience/gun dog intro training to one of the best trainers in Wisconsin if not the US and his 1 month training is $1500. I am also going to send our puppy to a intermediate gun dog training and that is a 16 week program and that is $6,000. A howling good time is a rip off do NOT send your dog here, their videos they post look good but we saw their results first hand and they are not good.

My mom ended up keeping and watching them the whole time. She told me she would send the refund but so far I have gotten nothing back. She returned the dog with the same behavioral issues, Missy only provided a very superficial 15-minute follow-up (fast-paced) when she dropped my pup assuming that somehow I knew how to follow up with the so-called training. Promised training notes but never followed up on them. When I questioned the training she got upset and offended (I guess is easy to be offended when you pocket $960 and the dog shows no progress). I am an elderly woman with mobility problems and took the money from my retirement account to get help to train the pup. Her suggestion was to keep the dog on a leash inside and outside the house and put him in the kennel when he misbehaved because he needed to earn his freedom. And that cost me $960? This looks like a scam to me. In my case, Missy is a disappointment. I know she blames me for my pup's behavior but that is why I hired her, to help me to train me and my dog. And she has more than 40 years of experience? Unbelievable.
