When…read moreI questioned the estimate he said he might be able to lower the charges a little bit saying "I could lose my license if...". He didn't approve of my getting my kitty's meds from Chewy (drastically lower cost) or the local compounding pharmacy. Her initial prescription was ordered by his cooperating pharmacy on the east coast. 2 click pens were paid for (per my call to that pharmacy) but I was only given 1, yet paid for 2, later the 2nd was "given to me as a courtesy". The estimate was lowered from $610 to just under $200 for shots and weight, no exam. My little girl was howling and hissing after being manhandled. The building is deteriorating, walkway broken up with lots of debris, lots of scratches and chips in exam rooms, lots of overpriced "products" for sale, staff is harried and seemingly overwhelmed. We are moving on.

Having had bad…read moreveterinary experiences before, I was a little fussy about who I wanted to care for my animal. I found West Towne Veterinary online and went to check it out. I got there right before closing and Dr. Ken was kind enough to take time out of his evening to tell me about their cat friendly practice and show me around the clinic, including the areas that they perform surgeries and teeth cleanings. Dr. Ken has now been daisy's vet for the past three years and I can't say enough about the exceptional care they have provided to her! From the friendly office staff, to getting her in for emergency appointments... they even have cat boarding and a cat gym! They also offer "cats night out" events where your cat can socialize with other cats and you can learn information on how to better care for your pet. And to top everything off, Dr. Ken is one of those veterinarians that paddle boards and home brews. Can't beat that-- I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Dodgeville Veterinary Service - Happy patients of DVS

Very happy with my experience at DVS. We recently moved to the area and have switched our dogs to…read morethis vet clinic. Both of our dogs have now had their appointments and I am SO PLEASED with our experiences at this clinic. Booking our appointments and becoming established with the clinic was so easy and the front desk staff was incredibly friendly. While at our appointments the staff was friendly and greeted us upon entry. We were immediately roomed to our exam room, which I thought was awesome because the dog that walked in ahead of us was elderly and clearly was not liking my dog being near. I think the immediate rooming is great for those pets that do not do well around others and everyone gets their privacy. We had Dr Milford and Dr Rathje as our vets and both were excellent. They took the time to make our dogs comfortable in the exam room and listened to our concerns. They also have an app which allows me to easily see when my dogs are new for their next vaccinations or see any appointments I have scheduled. We received text reminders prior to our appointment and a follow-up text afterwards to see how our pets were doing after receiving their vaccines. They also called with the results of the bloodwork the same day of our appointment. As stated in another review, they do take a "no show" down payment prior to your appointment. They are very transparent about this while scheduling your appointment and explain the fee well. The money they obtain goes towards the cost of your appointment, but if you do not show up for your appointment they keep the money. If you cancel you appointment in advance they do not charge you the no show fee. As someone who works in the healthcare field, I agree entirely with what they are doing. Many patients "no show" and that open spot costs money for the clinic/providers, plus it was valuable time where they could have been helping someone else. In other words, ignore the 1 star review from the other person. DVS is a 5 star facility and I would highly recommend them!

My dog was very lovingly and thoroughly examined. She was a little nervous at first, but realized she wasn't going to be hurt by them. Needless to say, this doggie momma was extremely happy to be treated so well by the whole staff. From the receptionist, to the veterinary assistant, and the doctor herself treated us like instant family. We will hopefully not have another incident, but there is peace of mind knowing that we have a place to go if necessary. I would highly recommend Hill Dale Veterinary clinic any day.

It's not like giving five stars means you want to spend your days here -you like going to the vet…read moreas much as you like going to the dentist, but it's just part of life if you're a furry creature! It's a small, clean building with on-site parking, nice patient rooms and welcoming reception staff. Hill-Dale does a wonderful job of keeping my little boston terrier at ease and they make the experience for you and your pet the best they can. All of her regular check-ups with Dr. Doughty have been great, she and the vet techs are fantastic at keeping her calm and as relaxed as possible despite her being so scared. Unfortunately my little girl was diagnosed with mast cell cancer but the team worked hard to comfort me and give me as much information as they could to put me at ease about having her go through surgery. The cons? Wow, that surgery was really expensive and there's no payment plan -you can either pay for it then or you can't. Luckily I held a fundraiser on social media and that covered most of it. Dr. Dobbert -a UW Madison Vet School grad- did the surgery and was very sweet, gave excellent care for my girl and made a tough experience better. After getting some not-so-great results from the lab they work with, Dr. Dobbert went above and beyond following up with me on the phone multiple times afterwards, especially seeing that I was having a really emotional and rough time. He took the time to get more detailed information on the tumor results from the lab oncologist so that I had the most thorough understanding possible. Now that's what being a true doctor is all about :) The vet techs did the same to comfort me and just try to keep me as at ease as they could. Ervin was such a sweetheart to the both of us before surgery and went I came to pick her up. The techs are very kind, knowledgeable and deserve more praise than I think they typically do. What would I change? Well, we all love our pets and want to fight for them -I wish it were possible to make payments if your credit was good because some treatments are very expensive but it's still the medical field, I get it. It's a pricer vet compared to others we've gone to. My little girl is going to an oncologist Dr. Dobbert recommended and I'll keep fighting for her. I'm sure they'll follow-up. Great facility, lovable resident cats, caring staff. Five stars and wagging tails for Hill-dale.

Well they sold to a corporate store and the new place says "no, we have to administer them so you need to make an appointment every time so we can charge for an office visit but we usually book out a week or 2 in advance so you have to make an emergency visit so we can make more money or let your dog suffer for a week or 2" so we switched to this place. This is the ONE AND ONLY reason we switched. They told us multiple times that they too, need to administer the meds but I don't even need an apt. I can bring her in at anytime and someone will give her the ear meds and we won't even be charged for an office visit. We'll this was 100% a LIE! Yesterday my dog had an ear infection and we called to be courtious and they told us she has to suffer for a week or two. Now we have to switch vets all over again because this place LIES to their customers! They do not care about your pets!
