River Roost is a bar and lounge located at Disney's Riverside Resort, directly next to Boatwright's Dining hall and right off the lobby. This is the spot to hang out and lounge, grab a drink in the evening if you are staying here. This is not the most popular lounge, meaning people are not flocking here who are not staying at the resort as they do for the deluxe resorts. However, it is the home to the famous Yehaa Bob, which does draw people here. My wife and I worked for Disney for many years and never got to see this show. We had dinner at Boatwright's so decided to stay for the show. It is on the larger side for a lounge, with a few seats at the bar and then many tables around the lounge. Not every seat has a great view of the stage, so if you are coming to see Yehaa Bob, you need to grab your seat early. We sat very close to the stage but got there an hour early and just enjoyed a couple of drinks while waiting. There is a menu with a few special drinks, but there is also a full bar and you can order pretty much anything you like. There is also beer on tap, bottles and wine. There is a food menu, we were very full so we didnt even look at it, but I did see someone order chicken wings. You could also bring in food from the quick service location down the hall which a big table did. We did however, order dessert. We ordered the Banana Cream Pie Cheesecake which had Toasted Meringue, Caramelized Bananas, and Banana Liqueur-Caramel Sauce. This was one of the best desserts I have had and I do not even enjoy sweets. But this was really good! Drinks we just ordered our favorite cocktails, nothing from the menu. Drinks were fine, no issues. Unfortunately Yehaa Bob was off so we had his sub, but he was amazing. He sang great songs, engaged the audience and gave a great performance. We decided to make it a night and had dinner at Boatwrights next door and then finish the evening at River Roost. There are a few seats at the bar and then many tables. If you want to see actually see Yehaa Bob, I would suggest getting there early. There are two different shows and it filled up quickly. Luckily we were there about an hour early but again absolutely worth it, our seats were fantastic, right near the stage. They do have a drink menu with a few special drinks, but they have a full bar so you can order your favorite cocktails, beer and wine as well. They also had a food menu, which we did not look at since we had just finished dinner. I did see people ordering wings though. The quick service location is right down from the lounge, so you could also get food there and bring it into the lounge. We did order a dessert, and went with the Banana Cream Pie Cheesecake which had Toasted Meringue, Caramelized Bananas, and Banana Liqueur-Caramel Sauce. This was fantastic even from my husband who does not even enjoy desserts, really enjoyed this one. It was really delicious, had caramelized bananas and was a great dessert. For drinks, we just ordered our favorites, a lemon drop martini, wine, old fashioned. We did not order any of the drinks off the menu. All of them were really good. We had no complaints. The piano singer was also amazing, he sang great songs, engaged the audience and was a great show. I highly recommend adding this lounge to your list! read more

A friend of mine is a server here and I decided to stop and say hi and grab a drink. I also met a lovely gentleman who is my bartender his name is Myles- I asked him how he makes his martinis and he said he normally uses olive brine and I asked him if he had any pickle juice and he is going to make me a pickle martini. My friend that is the server his name is Chris. River roost is the same location that is a bar they also have a light apps from 5 PM to 10 PM. This bar is located at Riverside one of the Disney properties their sister resort is the French Quarter. The Pickle martini was out of this world!! This is also the same restaurant/bar that also does YEE HAW BOB. Hopefully I will be out of the bar before yee haw Bob starts. read more

I was staying at the hotel for a week and hit up this place 3 times. I sat at the bar all 3 times and the service was perfect. Very attentive and friendly bartenders. I went right at 5 when they opened so it was empty. It's pretty quiet but I know that later in the evening there is some live entertainment with singing and piano playing so it might get kind of loud. The selection of food was pretty small but that's ok because I think this is more of a grab a drink and go kind of place. I ordered the charcuterie board it was tasty. All in all, a great place to grab a drink when you get back from being in the parks all day. read more

In the evening we ended up back at our room but decided we wanted a drink so we walked over to the lobby bar, River Roost. The service was good and it appears that sometimes they have live music. Drinks were good and just what we needed. We ended up staying for another drink and decided to order food before the kitchen closed. We got the charcuterie and it was fine but pretty basic. We also ordered the pimento cheese fritters and they were really good. Def order some with your drinks! read more

Got to see Yeeha Bob Jackson and he was so entertaining! He made the experience personable by visiting the table before his piano set and getting to know everyone by where they were from and if anyone was celebrating anything. Our waiter Mark was amazing and quick! My mom and I got the Watermelon lemonade and it was delicious! My boyfriend got the Chocolate Martini and it was extremely too strong for my liking, but he enjoyed it. The Cajun shrimp were delicious and so was the charcuterie board. My mom has not stopped raving about the Banana Pudding as well! Cannot wait for our next trip to come back. Very family friendly vibe and one of the best Disney Bars and lounges. read more

For someone having never stayed at Port Orleans Riverside I sure have visited the River Roost a few times and there are three reasons for me making the trek here voluntarily: great craft beer and cocktail selections, amazing wait staff and bartenders, and last but certainty not least: Yehaa Bob Jackson. This lounge, located in the main building of Port Orleans Riverside, acts as the go-to cocktail point of the resort and during the daytime this area seems quite chill and calm but as the evening inches closer to 8p you will notice this space come alive. That's all thanks to Yehaa Bob, resident piano man. If you are trying to catch Bob's show plan to get there early, especially if you have a larger group. Bob sings, plays, rocks the house, and be warned there is quite a bit of audience participation. Not only do they have an amazing set of craft and macro draft beer options, but also wine (by the bottle available) and some great cocktail offerings. Staff has always been incredible, even at their busiest times the servers here are top performers and our table never goes without or has any kind of extended wait. Bartenders know how to pour a mean drink and seem to be having just as much fun as the audience each night. Being local we love bringing friends here when they visit for a fun, non-park, evening of cocktails and revelry. Check it out but if you end up running around the Roost and dancing, don't say I didn't warn you about audience participation. read more

Put a guy next to a piano with a load of talent and watch the crowd. I am sitting in a comfy couch and watching a bunch of people do Head, Knees and Toes. This is a lounge with great drinks and sensational food. I haven't even gotten to the servers. When Yeeha Bob is off, the room is quiet. When he is here, the room comes to life. Ordered a Smoked Turkey which is a bourbon. A few sips in, I started singing with the crowd. Yo, ho, ho, ho, a Pirates Life for Me. We came back late from Disney Springs, exhausted but still wanted a place to have a drink before we went to bed and River Roost was still open. This place was hopping! There was some live entertainment but I'm pretty sure it was not Yeeha Bob. It was another guy that was playing a keyboard and singing, not bad though, and the crowd enjoyed him. The bar stools were all taken and we decided to sit at a table close to the bar. My boyfriend was about to go order drinks up at the bar but before he could do that a server came over and took our orders. He got a I ordered an Antioxidant Lemonade (acai-blueberry vodka, odwalla lemonade, pomegranate juice, Sprite). Man oh man, my body was healed and cleansed after drinking that. He got a Raspberry Mojito (raspberry rum, lime juice, mint and raspberry puree, soda water) which was much tamer than mine and was pretty tasty. He did not like mine as he said it tasted too much like cough medicine but I enjoyed it. We arrived too late for food so we missed out on that but we were happy with our drinks. We were here a month ago to see Yahoo Bob and eat. We loved the wings, Cajun fries, and boudin balls. We loved everything, so we revisited , raving about the food. We brought my brother and sister in law. After a long wait 1/3 of our food came out(cold). Fries were not seasoned. 20 minutes later the rest of food came out ICE COLD. Very small selection of food but amazing amazing wings and seriously one of the best burgers I've ever tasted. Something called "bacon jam" comes on top besides the cheddar and other stuff. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and I felt spoiled having this bar available for our enjoyment. On the few nights when we were in the mood for a night cap, after a long day at the parks and before pouring ourselves into bed, River Roost hit the spot. They have ample seating options available, including bar (obviously) and regular and tall tables, as well as comfier chair and couch options a bit farther back from the stage area and near a nice fireplace. We were always able to find a table, or belly up to the bar, and the bartenders and servers were all so nice. They have a great drink selection, including classic cocktails, beer, and wine. I enjoyed trying a few Florida IPAs. They also have food available during certain hours. The piano guy is a bit manic for my taste, although I appreciate his ability to engage and fully entertain a crowd of people of all ages. There were many moments where he had everyone singing along. He is immensely talented and performed a mix of Disney favorites, as well as other crowd pleasers. During his later show, he shifted a bit to more adult-, less child-, friendly numbers. He even works in time for photos at the end of each set. It's worth checking out at least once, especially if you're staying at this hotel. read more

This place is so fun! Trivia every Tuesday night really brings in a crowd so if you plan to come for that, be sure to get there early! Super friendly and attentive wait staff. We tried he hummingbird cake. An extremely dense carrot-cake-like flavor with a bit more freshness. Extremely dense and packed with nuts and all sorts of mix ins and finished with a nice thick frosting. When they bring it to your table they pour a hot rum sauce over the top and it really makes the whole cake. One of the better Disney World desserts I've had in a while! read more

This is a great lounge with the trifecta- good good, good drinks and good entertainment! We prefer to eat here over the quick service or Boatwrights. Their wings are among my favorite at Disney. My favorite were the Himalayan Zing flavor at the Hangar Bar (Disney Springs), but they got rid of them! The burger is super tasty as is the charcuterie board. We also love the Loaded Potato Puffs! The highlight of this location is YeeHaw Bob who plays from around 8:45pm-midnight on select nights (he has a website- check to see if he is playing before you commit). Get there early to snag a table. Families start getting here around 7-7:30pm! Stake your claim- order some food and drinks and make a night of it! Speaking of drinks- everything we have had has been great. They have the standard fare offered at every resort plus some specialties- Hurricane, Sazerac, and Rum-a-Rita. A nice little bar inside Port Orleans Riverside resort. The in-house entertainer kept everyone very lively and fun - anyone who can bang out "Livin' on a Prayer" on the piano and have the crowd sing along will be good in my books! Their Pirogue platter (which, despite what its name sounds like, is not a platter of pierogies. It's essentially a meat and cheese plate) was pretty good, with my favorite part being this sweet and spicy jam of some sort that I couldn't quite figure out what fruit it was. We also had their Nawlins nachos that came with their toppings off to the side, which is actually a nice step since a lot of time nachos can get soggy quickly if too many things or placed on top. Those two plates and one drink each came out to a little over $60 after tip. Overall, it's a nice place to visit if you're staying at Port Orleans Riverside resort, but it's not a must-visit if you're staying somewhere else at Walt Disney World. read more

We really loved the River Roost - and honestly we came to hang out here several nights while we were staying at the Port Orleans Riverside resort. Located adjacent to the lobby and just before both Boatwright's restaurant as well as The Market - it was certainly a hotbed of activity for couples and families alike. Let's start with their drinks. I didn't have one drink that I disliked at River Roost. All of them were well done, not overly powerful, and not watered down. I tried something different every night. We also had the same waiter most nights - but all of the waiters and waitresses were fantastic. They checked up on us often, made sure our drinks were full, made great suggestions and were really friendly. Many nights there was also entertainment. It was the same guy, doing the same songs ever night but he really got everyone, especially the kids hanging out with their families going. He'd send them on marches and dances throughout the space and engage them in song and dance. It was really nice to see everyone getting along and enjoying themselves. We only ordered food once - the nachos. They're the only reason that this review is four stars instead of five. They were pretty gross, even for bar food and well under Disney standards. We picked at them, and then left them. Otherwise though, I definitely look forward to coming back to Port Orleans to hang out here - it was a great time! read more

It fits with the antebellum theme they have going on, and I guess several nights per week a hugely talented performer named "YeeHaw Bob" performs. This place is a great time if you're spending a night relaxing and not going to a park. Live piano music, great bar and cocktail list, and a fireplace in a cool lounge. But most importantly, it has the best and most hidden burger on Disney property. The bacon bourbon burger here is nothing like the frozen, well-done hockey pucks you're used to throughout Disney property. This thing is juicy, fatty, and flavorful. I wouldn't have known that this place was called River Roost until I looked at my receipt. At that time, the color drained from my face, my credit score fell, and in the distance the sirens began. River Roost is evidently the name of the place where you eat when staying at Disney Orleans Riverside. You might be better off thinking nothing of the substantial cost and (if possible) just charge everything to your conveniently debt-encouraging Disney bracelet. There's a value to those bracelets: at the end of your trip, all the vacation-ruining sticker shock comes at the very end, allowing everyone else their happy memories. You, the payer, get the same happy memories, happily partitioned from the price-related PTSD. As for the food, it was sub-mediocre. I speak here of the "pub" food. The chicken wings were a 3/10. They were small, dry, but flavorful. The chicken fingers were small, moist, and flavorful. 6/10. The nachos were pure rubbish, seemingly microwaved. 1/10. The price was... Well, you know the drill. Understaffed! A full bar with 2 bartenders on duty not keeping up. The service is just awful, but it's not the staff's fault; they're working as fast as they can. The management just doesn't seem to have enough people working here. The best Pina Colada I had anywhere at WDW, except for the Lava Colada at Coral Reef. The Pimento Cheese Balls with sweet diced peppers were top-drawer. The place fills completely by 7:30-7:45PM for Bob's 8:30PM act, so plan accordingly. This is a great place to have some good food and a lot of fun watching Yeeha Bob! The main reason for the visit was to see Yeeha Bob and enjoy his performance and audience participation songs. But the food and service were also great. I had eaten earlier but I couldn't pass up the fried pimento cheese with pepper jelly. It was great! My friend who was with me ordered a cheeseburger with fries and she loved it. This is a great place to spend and evening for some relaxing family fun and great food. The 3 stars are only for the waitstaff. The entertainment deserved 5 stars but it's not just a review on him. He was entertaining and very nice guy. However the waitstaff left everything to be desired. We had to track him down at first and we had to keep tracking him down. It took over an hour for him to come back and ask for another drink. He was even harder to get a hold of when we were ready to leave that I had to go find him. The drinks were good especially the strawberry lemonade but he left everything to be desired. read more

Pricy as you might expect for a Disney resort. What you'll find absent though is the "character" you encounter at regular intervals from the other resort employees.
