I called to make reservation for Father's Day, my dad's choice. I had never been in before. The phone line was down and couldn't get through to make reservation. The hostess was extremely friendly and she had me wait just a very short time for a table , while also mentioning she heard the phone was down for a short time. Our waiter seemed annoyed. I understand it was a holiday , but it wasn't crazy busy. We were very nice and kind and he was not feelin it lol. I tried to order a to go order, ordering halfway through our meal and he said it would take an hour. I said noodles and alfredo? No meat? He said yes . Go OUT OF YOUR WAY to eat here!!! Off of Dixie Hwy North, just before the light at Grange Hall Road, between Clarkston & Holly Twp. We went there this last Thursday eve with same day reservations for a family party of 10, plus two little ones. It was close to a rental house we were all at. I looked at the menu online and looked like good selection and reasonable pricing. Welp, we ended up being a half an hour late due to Baby logistics and they were kind enough to hold our table and accommodate us...Thanks. We got a selection of Appetizers, and our favorite was the Spinach/Artichoke dip, the boneless wings were good too...they waved the price for chips and salsa and gave us two big bowls for free, assuming because of the size of our party. We ordered a variety of Entrees, including the Filet, Perch, Bourbon Salmon, Pot Roast and other...All of the food was just perfectly prepared, presented and delicious...All of our plates were cleaned! Great Selection and Something for everyone... Our Waiter Ron was just so nice, regularly refilled everyone's beverages without being asked/brought out the little ones food in advance/was organized and fun and pleasant and a REAL Professional, considering he had other tables to run to across the restaurant...He even took family photos for us at the end...and without any notice, arranged the most delicious dark chocolate Torte cake to be delivered with candles to our three Birthday peeps, and we sang and had so much fun. The Robot Food delivery was just a highlight that thrilled all of the kids as well...totally unexpected. The ambiance was amazing. We went Friday night at 6:30 and were seated close to a fire with plenty of space for us and our baby stroller. The food was quick and tasted great. The fire was roaring and it was well attended with fun chatter around us. They also had a peaceful live band with stand up base that set the ambiance and tone even more for the evening. The porch was closed but can't wait to go back and check it out in the spring. Log cabin in the inside and white table cloths made for a nicer Friday night dinner. We have frequented River Rock a number of times. The food has always been good, we like the ambiance and the wait staff always seem to be friendly and more than willing to get us what we need. It has been awhile since we drove up from Waterford but went last evening. Everything was pretty standard; prices were about for what we would expect in a nicer place. We were very dismayed; however, when we got the bill. The initial bill was just a touch over $100 for the meal with one drink apiece for us and we both had dessert. The drinks (vodka for him, whiskey for me) were $12 a pop...which we felt was a bit high. But the real kicker came when the bill came back with a service charge for the use of a credit card. I get that the facility is billed by the bank for the use of the card (that is an entirely different discussion), but I am not inclined to tip the wait staff for a service charge. We ended up deducting a portion of the tip to pay for that service charge. Unfortunately the good wait staff is hurt by this policy and I think management needs to review it. Not sure how soon we will be back. read more

Of all the things that stick out however was the bill at the end. Our party of eight had some Bourbon drinkers, two of the men liked it neat (no ice) for me, I wanted a cube. Hey, I am willing to pay for it too. But, when the ice is the same ice you put into your ice water or pop and you charge me $2.50 for it, well, there the lies the issue that ruins a night of good fun, food and drinks. As I stated to our wonderful waitress, no reflection on her (she was tipped over 20%) that management needs to review their shitty policy, like bigger rocks for $2.50 Because as for myself I won't buy premium alcohol here and my overall experience has been hindered because of this. Had dinner at this restaurant tonight and it had the absolute worst service i have ever had at a dinner. It took us 25 minutes to get our first round of drinks period then, they agreed to give us 30% off the dinner tab at the end and then upcharged us for a side salad of $6.75. When I questioned them about it, they had the audacity to go back into the kitchen where it could be heard calling me a b**** and saying, Hey, we got her. If I were anyone going to this restaurant I would first check my tab because they will s**** y** on anything. They will up charge you for everything, and the service sucks. I don't know why the customer has to deal with bad service. And then get called a b**** because they are questioned on their bill. I asked for a low table due to brining my very petite 87 year old, 5 foot grandmother and it's not easy for her to get into the tall chairs. We were hungry so we took the tall table and less than 15 seconds later, the same hostess sat a couple at a standard table right behind us?! We ordered the calamari and it was the SALTIEST, worst calamari we've ever had. The portion was pretty pathetic for its price so we just decided to cut our losses and leave. Food was OK, but not worth the price. Overly expensive just because it's the only spot around. Be careful if you want to upgrade the alcohol in any drink, you'll for sure be over charged. I got the Rockin' Rita, which was good; but upgrading the tequila costed me $12 more. A party of 12 - 4 tables. One waitress. Poorest slowest service. They added gratuity to my bill when I received the shitty service. A friend called up here prior to the dinner to find out about handicap accessibility and she was pretty much hung up on... not sure if she would be able to have easy access in her wheelchair so she couldn't come. I spoke to Taylor who has waited on me in the past and is the only thing phenomenal about this place at the moment. While I was talking to Taylor the pathetic server who had my table and the other three in our group walked up behind me and started back talking me. Excuse me!!!!! Taylor went to get Kimmie the manager for me to speak to. I explained all the different negative bullet points from the phone call asking about handicap accessibility to the lack of pride in our server to make sure we were taken care of. In the end the manager asked me if she could give me a 20% off coupon for next time I said I wasn't sure if I would be coming back. Kimmie made one excuse after another and took absolutely no accountability. This is the worse customer service in a service related venue I have been to in a while. Within about 10 minutes of speaking to said manager, I walked back up to Taylor and asked her to let Kimmie know that I would take the 20% off coupon but that I wanted it given to the husband of friend of mine who didn't attend the party because of the wheelchair issue. Kimmie stated to Taylor I offered it to her once she said no and I am not offering it again! To top it off the food portions are small, the wait for your food was over an hour, to get your server to take your order was close to an hour! Saturday April 23, 2022 was our first time at River Rock. We stopped in for an early dinner before a concert nearby. Absolutely awesome food and service. Ahi Tuna and Prime Rib were among the best we have ever had and very reasonably priced. June explained menu choices and her recommendations and service were spot on. River Rock goes to the top of our list of restaurants and we'll definitely make the easy 10 minute drive from Grand Blanc again. read more

Ordered three entrees from their keto menu. All were fantastic. Glad to see a restaurant with a menu that includes some keto items.

I have passed this place several times and it looks great from the road. Inside matched the outside - it reminded me of being in a lodge up north. It was nice. They have a nice bar and several TV's. The fireplace in the corner is very nice and cozy as well. Service here was okay. Drink refills were pretty lax and the waitress didn't check on us at all. She seemed busy setting up the tables for the next day. Food was just okay as well. Nothing over the top and the prices were a little more steep than I am used to. The potatoes were salty (I ordered mine without potatoes and still got them - it looks like the chef didn't know how to plate it without putting mashed potatoes on the plate). The vegetables that were included we a mix of broccoli stems, cauliflower and carrots. I would have liked to have broccoli crowns instead of the stems, but maybe that's how people like their veggies in this restaurant. I would probably come here again to enjoy the bar and watch a game... maybe order an appetizer. That's about it. read more

My coworkers coordinated a large work dinner in the banquet room and the staff did a great top ensuring everyone was tended to. The appetizers were on point and actually better than the meal. Granted our party had a fixed menu, all the options sounded delicious and I was quite pleased with my filet mignon. There were a variety of options for dessert, however they were all cakes and it would have been nice to have a few other choices. That being said I did enjoy my peanut butter cream pie. At 9pm, they have live music so if you have an event going on be prepared to have louder music in the background.
