I am amazed at this local, woman owned business in Highland Park! She gave me the exact cut I wanted based on the questions asked. The salon is clean, welcoming, and easy to find, and the vibes are exactly what you want when trying a new salon out. The No Tipping was new for me, but only makes sense. You pay for your services and don't walk away confused or feeling like you overtipped or undertipped bc you didn't. Highly recommend this salon and their website for your best hair stylist match . read more

If you are searching for your next stylist, look no further! The last few years, I have been trying out different stylists but I just didnt have reasons to return. This time, I was pretty intentional when looking for a salon and it definitely paid off. The stylist was really good at making me feel comfortable and confident from the moment I walked in, through the decision making all the way until I was on my way out. I usually get a haircut once a year - this place makes me want to come back much sooner. I love my cut and color and I definitely will be back!! read more

We have been here a few times already to get the kids haircuts and Mindy the owner is so great. She knows how to talk to the kids while she's cutting their hair. The haircuts are great and they love getting their hair cuts! It's a plus for us that we can walk here but even if you have to drive it's well worth the drive. read more

Anthony was awesome! He cut my hair and suggested a toner that made such a difference--I left feeling so happy with my cut. He was friendly and made both me and my friend feel really welcome and comfortable. The salon itself was really nice and had such a homey vibe, right down to the music. I highly recommend him and will definitely be coming back. Thank you, Anthony! read more

I'm hooked and won't be seeing anyone else! Sheena (@sheen.shades.shears) has been the first one I have whole heartedly trusted with my hair - those who know me know I don't do this lol I've also never received so many compliments on my hair in my life - family, friends, acquaintances and random people on the street. I loved it so much that I cried because I've never felt so truly seen and beautiful - she took what I was feeling internally and made it external for the world to see. read more

I finally decided for make over and this is the perfect place. They took me in last minute my stylist Anthony did an amazing job. I got my hair washed, highlights and a cut! Meli is absolutely fantastic! My color and Brazilian Blowout Free is perfect! Words can't describe how glad I am that the Brazilian Blowout Free is just as good as the old Brazilian Blowout was. Meli is the best. She truly knows how to take care of her clients and their hair. Both she and Alexis are great. Great hair care and a chill vibe at the salon. What more can you ask for? read more

Came back after downing 4 Japanese lagers at the local brewery down the street while my wife was getting her hair did. Came in, got a fresh cut from Mindy and feeling like a million bucks. I also drank my 6th (and 7th) beer at the salon to keep the party going. read more

Extremely happy with my new balayage by Meli that I got today. I was looking to brighten up my light brown wavy hair. The salon has a nice laid back vibe with beverages galore and WiFi. Parking was easy and I loved the products that were used in my hair. I'll definitely be back... read more

Meli (one of the owners) is my hair stylist for life. When we moved from New York I probably tried half a dozen hair stylists before I met Meli. I won a haircut with her from a charity auction and was THRILLED with my cut. Not only was my haircut amazing but talking to her felt easy and natural! I always walk out feeling like a million bucks and months later my hair is still easy to style. She also never pressures me to color my hair which many, many other stylists have always done. Thank you Meli! As for the salon, everyone that works there is professional and friendly. It's designed really well with comfy seating--my neck doesn't even hurt when my hair gets washed. The products they use and sell have been superb too! I HIGHLY recommend River and Reign! read more

This place is my official go to for hair & nails Hair - my forever stylist is Jessica E. She takes your lifestyle and hair habits into consideration when cutting and styling your hair so that you can replicate it on your own. I wanted to change my hair color but didnt want to commit so she suggested a gloss. In my opinion, it's like "spray tanning" your hair. I got a darker shade that lasted a few weeks. I dont cut my hair often but when I do, I always go to Jessica. (This post is long overdue so I do not have any hair pix) Nails - the nail tech that did my nails was Cathy. I told her I wanted my nails as short as possible and she delivered (I personally do not like long nails). The entire process took two hours which included removing old gel (that was done at a different salon), painting the different coats/colors and finishing with cuticle oil/lotion. She is very meticulous and I appreciated her attention to detail. Although I was not a client of the other nail tech (Christina) I know her work is great as well. Both ladies do awesome work but they do book fast so I suggest booking at least a month in advance. Love supporting small business, esp. Ones that are women owned. Great environment with a chic, clean interior. I usually park on the street right in front of the salon. I highly suggest this place! read more

I cant express how happy i am with my service here . Natalie has been my stylist since my first visit and her attention to my needs were met. Im always scared to go to salons because when i ask for a certain cut they end up doing it their way . I told her what i wanted and always stopped to make sure certain areas were what i wanted . I felt like my hair was dry and i came back and she gave me an amazing treatment and advice plus suggested product and im so happy with the health of my hair and so thankful for her . Thanks NAT read more

Warning : long review ahead!!! The moment you walk in, the staff gives you the warmest welcome. As soon as you get checked in they offer you water or coffee and offer you a gown. I have been with Christine (the best color specialist) for many years now and I don't trust anyone else with my hair. Christine makes your vision come true and never disappoints. She is also the sweetest person! But also all the women in the salon are the most positive and caring towards you even if you're not their client. They literally check in on you every ten minutes to see how you're doing. This is a women owned salon and it is empowering to see all these women strive and have happy clients. They are all the BEST!!! read more

Mindy is the only person I trust with my hair. Whether it's a cut, color or gloss (or all of the above), she always gets it right. I'm so happy she's at River + Reign now. It's super cute and only 15 mins from my house! read more

I LOVE this place!!! Came in for a Brazilian blowout (obsessed). Decided to do brow lamination. Finding a new brow person is like finding a manicurist- you keep trying till you strike gold. If you've never done lamination please do! I highly recommend her. I will definitely be coming back! Thank you Natalie, you're the best. read more

This salon is amazing. I have been seeing Meli for a few years now, and knew I'd come see the new space as soon as I had the chance. Meli was booked out for a few weeks so I opted for "first available" knowing that anyone that Meli has be a part of her salon would be great. I was not wrong. I had Jessica, who did a long cut and CBD treatment for me. I had performed a number of unfortunate trims on myself during the past year and Jessica managed to bring life and style back to my crown. The CBD conditioning treatment is so legit. I gave birth in January and my hair has been ravaged by the ups and downs of my hormones. The treatment has given me back a lot of shine! Jessica's skills were no joke. She has such a friendly and open vibe. She took time to gently explain what was working for me and what was not. We decided together the best route to go. She gave me some beautiful long layers that blend beautifully and cleaned up the mess I had made. The salon itself is beautiful and clean. Their safety protocols and sanitation made me feel very very at ease. I highly recommend this salon!!!! read more

This salon is super cute inside and parking is really easy to find on the street or around the corner! I love that they have nail stations inside. The nail techs are really talented and can do all sorts of custom designs. I got a hair cut from Jessica E. when I found the salon's Instagram and checked out her page! She was very informative about her styling process, and gave me cute curtain bangs along with my cut. read more

Booked a haircut here and couldn't be happier! I was greeted immediately and was welcomed in to sit for an on point barber cut. Patricia sent me home with a clean fade and she was very in tune with the look I was going for. Definitely booking again. read more

Fantastic local salon owned by two women who clearly know what they're doing. Not only do I get my hair cut here but only trust Meli with my son's curly, long hair as well. Super positive, welcoming environment. Highly recommend! read more

This salon is my absolute favorite everyone that works here is so sweet and the front desk girl is always very helpful! Meli is the only person I will let touch my crazy hair. She gives me the most amazing cuts so that my hair doesn't take any work to style. Blowdries or air dries like a dream! She also does Brazilians and bayalage to perfection. read more

Horrible experience. The stylist threw the extensions I bought away and lied about it and when I spoke up about it she got belligerent and said she didn't want to do my hair anymore. I also paid for 3 wefts but she only put two in. So someone else is wearing the extensions I paid for. Games and lies. Beware! read more

Meli is really the best! She is one of the only stylists I have ever been to who actually listens to what I want and brings it to life. She is a color genius and her custom hair painting has been far better than I ever could have expected. Yes, it's pricey, but she cuts and colors in a way that is far lower maintenance than most other stylists. I am so grateful to have found her! read more

I booked a curly haircut only to be canceled on literally the night before my appointment. The appointment was made at least a month n a half in advance. My appointment was for Labor Day weekend...felt like the hair stylist just wanted her holiday weekend free at my expense. Very disappointed. Very unprofessional. If it was the other way around I would've been charged 100%. read more

Waited 45 minutes (no explanation until I asked, no apology at all) for a bad hair cut that Meli spent less than 10 minutes on before she moved on to her next client. $150 + tip. I'm looking for a new stylist to fix this crappy cut. Never again. read more

Beautiful beautiful salon! I first came here when I was struggling with my uneven red hair color. I was definitely looking to get it fixed, however, to my surprise, my stylist (Korinthia) said it wasn't possible. That I had to lift my color altogether in multiple sessions or go darker. I then chose to go darker, but I remember feeling super judged as it was just a "bandaid decision" for now. To my surprise, I ended up really liking the darker color and was happy with my decision despite feeling pressured to lift my hair. They said they would write down the mix for the next time I got my hair touched up and in the end I walked away satisfied with how everything turned out. Fast forward to today, I drove all the way to Pasadena from West Hollywood to get my hair done again. I showed up to the salon, and Korinthia greeted me again. She's VERY nice. However, when she asked what we were doing today, my response was the original color she mixed up for me last time. She then proceeded to say that she couldn't find the formula nor had she written it down. She said she was willing to come up with a new solution.. and my response was a simple question, asking if there was any way possible that she could call her manager to help with the situation (as she helped with my color solution my last visit). She wouldn't even do that, and then proceeded to express that she wouldn't be taking me on as a client that day because she "felt" that maybe I wasn't the right fit for her. I walked away from the chair feeling very confused. And I am very disappointed to say the least as I drove all the way out to this salon only to be turned away from the chair. It felt like it was a really big slap in the face and very unprofessional, as all I had done was express my concerns. I felt she (Korinthia) took it very personally INSTEAD of professionally. I believe, it's how you handle moments in conflict that show who you are as a stylist and she unfortunately did not handle this situation well whatsoever. read more

I came in and got a haircut by Jessica. She has been doing my hair for a few years now and I love the results every time. During this particular visit I wanted something a little different and came in with pictures. Jessica was able to give me some insight as to what would look good on me while keeping in mind what I really wanted. The salon itself is clean and in a great location. I personally feel safe with their COVID safety protocols. read more

I got the chance to see jessica E. for a layered haircut. My hair is super flat and have no volume whatsoever. Jessica managed to bring life into my hair. It was super low maintenance (exactly what i asked for) and gave me what I wanted, volume. I would definitely go back for their hair treatments. Ive been following their instagram and they are also excellent at hair extensions. Trust me. Its really hard to find a reliable hair salon that will actually listen to what you want and deliver. Thank you jessica! I will definitely come back! read more

Very nice and my daughter enjoyed her first hair cut. Communicative and let me know as soon as an appointment was open.

I really enjoyed my experience here. The personnel is very friendly and nice, the salon itself is super cute and modern. I went for the WASH, BLOWDRY + STYLE. In about one hour after I left the salon, all my curls that I came for were gone [crying], so maybe next time I'll just go for a haircut or something simpler. Loved the place, will be back for some other services. read more
