Boats and jet skis cost $10, effective August 2020 kayaks are now $5. Pedestrians or bikers without a boat are free. There is one porta potty in the parking lot. This is considered a US international border so the gate locks at 10 PM and there is a penalty if you are not out in time. Dogs are allowed in the fishing park and boat launch. Poop bags if you're lucky. There is a gate attendant to take your money and enforce rules. You are not Allowed to swim or wade here, nor would you want to because it is filthy. One mile south is the Edsel and Eleanor Ford house, bird island, and the grosse pointe woods park. This is the southernmost public boat launch until Detroit. It's kind of hard to find, drive east on 9 mile until you can't anymore. Drive between fishbones restaurant and the Mobil And keep going. If you feel like you are about to blow a tire from all the potholes, you are on the right track. I do not recommend kayaking in this area if there is northern wind above 5 miles an hour or southern wind above 10 mph. I also recommend getting off the water by 11 AM when the jet skis get out.

Get a jet ski on the right day and you can sustain top speeds for a good minute or two before having to turn to stay within the jet-ski boundaries (plenty of water to cruise). From the get-go, the carburetor needed to be replaced. Three times in less than three months all the gasoline leaked out and I had to have that repaired. The gas gauge registered empty when the tank was full. The turn signals stopped working. The whole thing shut down. I bought the motor scooter in March and wound up, in frustration, donating it to Kars4Kids in July. I am 75 years old and thought I would have a nervous breakdown or heart attack if I kept bringing the motor scooter to the shop to be repaired.

We watched a 15-20 minute video on how to use the jet skis then signed the waivers, got our life jackets on, and we were off! It was my first time on a jet ski and at first I was riding slow and kept taking my hand off the throttle but once I got the hang of it...there was no stopping me! It was a blast!! The views are great driving up to and under the ambassador bridge and by the GM building. Just the idea of riding a jet ski between two countries was so cool! I will definitely be going back next summer! I can't wait!!

Afterwards, we received a brief demonstration and were on our way! There are no escorts like a lot of companies use, it was just my wife and I on the lake! Cost is comparable to other jet ski rentals in the area, but if you're a returning customer, you get 30 extra minutes for free. The equipment was very nice and the jet ski was in great condition. They also take their time to familiarize you with the operation of the ski. This rental lets you take the ski out on your own and the area is the entire Sandusky Bay. Riding the skis in Sandusky Bay is very fun and the waters are protected from the larger waves that are out in the open Lake Erie. The number one reason to visit this place for your jet ski rental is the family run ownership. Dave and Lisa are incredibly nice! My daughter and I really enjoyed meeting them. All of our future rentals will be from this establishment.
