"Procrastination makes easy things hard, hard things harder." -Mason Cooley…read more I had ONE job: get my suit dry cleaned. Even though I was given at least two week's notice before an event, I just had to make an easy thing hard. So there I was sitting in my car on a hot afternoon desperately calling every Sugar Land dry cleaner, looking for any that could possibly have my clothes ready before the following evening. After five or six attempts, Kristi's was the answer to my prayers. When I arrived under the Christmas-themed neon signs, they informed me that rush delivery would be an additional charge and I of course obliged. The damage: ~$6-7. Wait, what? There must've been some mistake, I thought. I quickly paid and got out of there feeling like Dillinger. As promised, my suit was ready the next day by 2 p.m. and I've been coming back ever since. There is no fee schedule posted, but from my experience, Kristi's is significantly less expensive than other places. This is a cash-only business, which helps keep costs down. So what keeps me from awarding this place that fifth star? The mini anxiety attack I have every time I pick up an order. For whatever reason, there always seems to be a customer whose order just doesn't want to go home. All of the paper receipts are kept on some sort of board on the wall and older receipts are filed in a giant scrapbook of sorts. Most of the issues I have overheard pertain to orders that have made the transition from the wall to the book. I thought I was bad about putting things off, but a lot of people apparently leave their clothes here for more than a month. On one occasion, I was given someone else's clothes in addition to my own. They clearly did not belong to me because that shirt is SO tacky. Who wears cheetah? But first, let me take a #selfie. One can never have too much good karma, so I returned the rogue garments. Alas, Kristi's is sorta kinda on my way to/from the office, has rush delivery available and does satisfactory work for much less than the competition. I will continue doing business here as long as Lady Luck is on my side.

1 star -- lost my slacks, then lowballed me for a month…read more Lost my $125 wool dress slacks and turned the fallout into a 3-week runaround. "Check back in a week" -- three times. At one point they even asked me to search their own facility for my own clothes. I did. Found nothing. When I finally got an offer, it was $40. Then they promised to push for $50 "with the manager" -- after another week's wait. I came back 10 days later and got offered $30 instead. Less than before. When I asked for the manager, I was told the person lowballing me the whole time WAS the manager. Disorganized, dismissive, and not worth the hassle. Take your dry cleaning elsewhere.

This is my husband's choice dry cleaner, and I've started to use this one too. He gets great…read moreservice here. We've never lost a garment here. I've only had one fancy dress damaged here, but it was a risky move to have it dry cleaned and I think it would be damaged anywhere. I like how my loose belts would be neatly tucked and shrink wrapped to my outfits. This shows how much care goes into each piece of garment. The prices are not cheap but cuts down the wear and tear on my clothes, so still a bargain compared to how much I spent on my work clothes. You get what you pay for.

My aunt's been coming here for the past year for all her dry-cleaning needs, and I've actually…read morestarted bringing items here, too. It's $1.59 for most garments, though for every order you place, they add an additional 25 cents to the cost. I'm pretty sure there are places that are a little bit cheaper than this one; however, (1) this one's seriously a 10-minute walk from home, (2) your stuff is ready by the end of the day if you bring it in before noon, and (3) compared to the dry cleaners I take my stuff to back in Cali, this place is dirt cheap. I haven't found rips, tears, or signs of wear from the dry-cleaning yet, so I'm deeming it a safe place for all my fancy stuff. :-) Oh, and if you've lots of dry-cleaning in one go, you'll probably find it convenient that they have a drive-thru option for pick-up. You just drive your car around to the side of the building, hand them your receipt, and they'll bring your things out to the car and hang them up in your car for you. Now that's service.
