BEWARE!!!! Do NOT BUY FROM THIS LIQUOR STORE. They sell expired products. I bought an Ocean Spray from there not checking the date till I got home and it had the date 3/26/2014! It is 10/9/2019 that is over 5 years old. BEWARE!! The only thing the manager had to say was "I'll give u back your money" not even a apology or anything. then he goes on to say "what do you expect?? for me to give you a $100?" How about asking me what I am asking for instead of being a prick in ur own establishment, I never asked for $100. But your whole approach to the whole situation rubbed me the wrong way. If your not someone who buys liquor often, DO NOT COME HERE! They literally price gouge. They take advantage of unsuspecting customers. For instance I was in today to buy a bottle of Blantons which normally runs around $60 a bottle. I come here and they are charging $149 a bottle. In fact everything they have in that glass cabinet is 2-3 times what you would normally pay. Lucky for me Siguels is right around corner and I was able to buy the same bottle of Blantons for $67 With tax changes coming we have got to be wise with our coins and frequent businesses who truly care about their customers instead of trying to take every dolla they have. read more

I've been coming to this place for years. Today is the first time I've had such poor customer service over the purchase of some incense. How are you working as a cashier with a calculator and can't count. I purchased a certain amount of the incense and the employee still had to count each stick. Other than that they are usually one of the stores to have what I was looking for for my family. The older person tried to smooth it over however the more they spoke, the less I wanted to hear. The older person was pleasant and kind, even to the point saying that the other cashier was in the wrong. I thanked the older person and left. I will come back again. I chalk it up to the younger person not working there long. read more

I call and there is no real number because it goes straight to VM. I'll stop in tomorrow to see what the deal is? SMH because they were very friendly. Is it possible for one liquor store to stand out amongst the rest? I laugh at myself for truly believing that this is the BEST liquor store ever! First of all, if you've ever gone to a liquor store in the area south of downtown it's kind of an ordeal...a scary ordeal. I used to work and live off South Lamar (at South Side on Lamar to be precise) and was very timid at first to venture out in my neighborhood. I'd always find myself going to the liquor stores north of downtown so I would not get accosted by the homeless/crackhead population that can sometimes congregate in that area. One day when I was feeling particularly adventurous, I decided to go exploring and see where one might find the cheapest bottle of Kettle One in Dallas. I first ventured further southeast down Lamar to some liquor store right around Corinth & Lamar...bad, bad, BAD. After being yelled at in the parking lot, when I went inside literally everyone stopped what they were doing to stare me down. The worst part was that the prices were just as high as uptown. Next please. Then, I went to Scotties (at the corner of Lamar & Cadiz) which turned out to be too "expensive" as well AND had a shady conglomeration of people milling around in the parking lot. My last option? Well, clearly the best was saved for last! River Cut Rate definitely has the best prices by far. However, that's not the only reason that makes this star shine...you want the latest copy of a movie just released in the theater? Or How about a nice bootlegged CD? Look no further than the parking lot. After you purchase a DVD (who can resist??) and you make your way inside you'll notice that there are always free samples of some liquor being passed out...don't mind if I do! Plus, every bottle of alcohol one could possibly desire is at your fingertips AND after you've made your purchase, what other store offers to go cups and ice?? Finally, all the clerks knew me when I walked in..."Hey Azul!" was their greeting as they smiled and welcomed me inside. This place for reals is the bomb .com. So fittng that my 200th review is a liquor store! Free cup of ice with any purchase?? Bootleg movies? Reminds me of the liquor stores back home! I just happened to pass this place on my way to a huge Yelp party in Dallas- I don't normally venture over this way, but I'm glad I did! This place is friggin cheap! I don't know how they do it- or maybe everyone else just really jacks up prices. And they have all the variety you can find at larger liquor stores. They don't have anything crazy exotic, but who wants that anyway? LOL The biggest part of my experience was by far the customer service. I was greeted with a cheerful "Good evening! Let us know if we can help you find anything!" Followed by a sample of some random rum I had never heard of- along with letting me know it was on sale. This is the perfect example of a sketchy liquor store. They have a great selection, but if you want any of the nice bourbon it will be priced 3 to 5 times retail locked away in a cabinet. This place is higher than secondary market on a lot of things. Go down to Sigels or something else and spend your money there and support a good store. read more

Staff was helpful and the items I got were a bit cheaper than other liquor stores I went to in the Downtown Area. Other than the Tequila.... Pricey. ILUVEME SOME DON JULIO ANJEO :-) But I made it work!!! The only thing is I do not know my way around and With all the crazy construction going on it was not very easy to find. We came in late as we were not familiar with the area & there was a lot of construction that delayed our arrival, so we literally had to RUN in to get our purchases before closing time. There were a whole bunch of people doing the same thing, LOL trying to beat that 9PM deadline. They had several registers running & got everyone out as quickly as possible.
