Buildings out of view of potential residents haven't had landscaping around them for years. Once you move in, the staff treats you like they're doing you a favor by allowing you to live there. The management close down the amenities to residents and use them for their own parties. They have outdoor movies with the sound up so loud it shakes your walls -- during the work/school week so it doesn't interfere with the staffs' days off. And don't bother complaining. They ignore any concerns the residents have regarding their lack of management skills. It also is not truly gated. The gates are left open or are broken more than they work, but even if they are working, the property is wide open. There was even a police car chase on the grass and sidewalk around the pool. There are car break-ins and thefts all the time. But if you enjoy the smell of pot, it's absolutely the place for you. Their maintenance man Joe is outstanding, though. He is the gold standard. The rest of the staff should learn from him.

There are no visible security measures in place no cameras, no patrols, nothing to make residents feel protected. For what we pay in rent, safety should be a priority, but clearly it is not. MANY residents have spoken up after my experience and told me the same thing happened to them I have the screenshots below. If you're considering moving here, be aware that your vehicle and personal safety are at risk. There was also a recent arson issue that was swept under the rug. Management needs to step up with real security solutions before this place can be considered a safe home. They didn't even reach back out to me about my vehicle OR send out a mass email like other apartment complexes that warn their residents about things like this. Update to below managements response : Thank you for your reply, but I want to clarify my experience. There were no visible security measures in place at the time of my incident no cameras in my section of the community, no patrols, and no communication from management after ANY car was stolen or broken into not just mine. Saying "events are rare" doesn't help when it happened directly to me, and many other residents ( which I will attach receipts) nor does it address the fact that other serious issues (like the recent arson) were also minimized and not communicated with those who LIVE in the Community. What I would have expected is transparency, accountability, and communication. A community that prioritizes safety should notify all residents of thefts, provide updates, and take proactive steps rather than downplaying concerns. Residents deserve more than a generic response we deserve action.

I am deeply disappointed with my experience at Flintlake Apartments, primarily due to their…read moreirresponsible and negligent pet policies. While I understand the appeal of allowing pets, Flintlake Apartments' decision to permit two dogs per unit, each weighing up to 100 pounds, has created a significant safety and noise issue for residents. The sheer size of these dogs is a major concern. A 100-pound dog is larger than most children, and their presence poses a potential danger, especially for families with young kids. I have witnessed numerous instances where these large dogs are left unchecked, creating an unsafe environment. The noise levels are another major issue. The sound of these large dogs running and playing upstairs is comparable to the noise generated by unruly children. The constant thumping and barking make it impossible to enjoy any peace and quiet in my apartment. It is incredibly disrespectful to those of us living downstairs, as it disrupts our daily lives and rest. Moreover, Flintlake Apartments fails to enforce local South Carolina and Horry County laws regarding leash regulations. I have multiple videos showing dogs running around the property unleashed, which is not only against the law but also highly inconsiderate to other residents. On several occasions, these dogs have ventured onto my patio, invading my personal space, and causing distress and harm. (I have video evidence of intrusion of space and personal harm). To the management: Do not show cowardice and laziness by hiding behind the usual response., " You can contact the Customer Cares Line at (877) 385-1878 or email CustomerService@druckerandfalk.com." Instead, be proactive and address my concerns directly. As onsite management, you are expected to do your job and ensure these issues are resolved promptly. Do not pass your problems on to someone else. The management's lack of enforcement and oversight on these issues is unacceptable. It is evident that Flintlake Apartments prioritizes accommodating pet owners over the comfort and safety of all residents. This lack of balance and disregard for the rules makes living here a constant struggle. In conclusion, if you are looking for a peaceful, respectful living environment, I would advise avoiding Flintlake Apartments. The persistent noise, safety concerns, and management's failure to uphold basic regulations make this place far from ideal. While apartment complexes may not automatically be liable for every incident involving an unleashed dog, failure to enforce leash laws can certainly expose them to legal risks, especially if it leads to injury, property damage, or a significant nuisance to residents. Residents have several avenues to address such issues, including documentation, formal complaints, and legal action if necessary.

I can honestly say that I will NEVER live here again, and I would never recommend these apartments to anyone. We have been dealing with a refrigerator that does not properly cool for almost an entire year. Think about that--almost a YEAR dealing with a basic appliance that is supposed to be provided and maintained by the property. We have had to throw away groceries only days after buying them because the refrigerator stops working. Every time maintenance comes, we are left waiting for weeks, only to be told that we are somehow using the refrigerator incorrectly or doing something wrong. They get it working temporarily, we think the problem is finally solved, and then shortly after, it stops working again. On some occasions, we were told we had to wait nearly THREE WEEKS for an LG specialist. Meanwhile, our food is going bad and we are the ones paying for it. We even asked for a small temporary refrigerator so we could at least save some of our groceries while this ongoing problem was being addressed. That request was denied. We also asked management for some type of rent relief, discount, or reasonable accommodation because of the inconvenience and money we have continuously lost, and we couldn't even get a response. This is completely unacceptable. A refrigerator should not take almost a year to fix or replace. The constant back-and-forth, waiting weeks for maintenance, losing groceries, and receiving little to no meaningful response from management has been beyond frustrating. I would strongly advise anyone considering living here to think twice. If management cannot properly handle something as basic as a refrigerator, I would hate to imagine how they would handle a more serious issue. We have gathered all the necessary documentation, including records of the maintenance requests, communications, and the losses we have experienced throughout this situation. We are taking this matter seriously, and management should expect to hear from my attorney soon.

RENTERS BEWARE!!!! We moved into Palmetto Pointe on June 26,…read more2026, and before we had even gotten all of our belongings/boxes inside, on June 27th, I informed Sydney that I had noticed roaches. I was assured they were "outside bugs" and that they would handle it. Weeks went by before someone finally came out to spray. In the meantime, the problem continued to get worse. I begged and pleaded with management to please do something because we could not live like this. Instead, I was repeatedly sent back and forth between several different people trying to get someone to take the situation seriously. Someone would come in and spray, but nothing changed. We were told to remove boxes, and we did exactly that, but there was still no improvement. The bugs were crawling on our bed, walls, ceilings, and coming through the drains. We have lived in other homes and apartments before this and have never experienced anything remotely like this. We have never had an issue with roaches or an infestation at any other place we have lived. This began almost immediately after moving into this apartment. I repeatedly told management that we had an infestation, but that was denied several times. We eventually got a second opinion, and they immediately confirmed that there was, in fact, an infestation. At that point, we simply could not handle living there anymore. I spoke with Julie about moving out because the situation had become completely unlivable. I told her that we would pay the last month, September, and that she could keep our security deposit so we could simply be done with the situation. We were there less than 3 months. We paid them $1,770 on September 8th and told her she could keep our $1,650 security deposit so that we could just move on and be done with everything. During our conversation, she told me that it would be at most $200 for one room to have the carpet replaced, as we had done a walk-through together. We have now received our final move-out statement, and it says we owe an additional $1,217. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. The property was presented as a resort-style place to live, but our actual experience was completely different. We spent the worst 3 months of our lives dealing with this apartment, the infestation, and management. I have pictures documenting some of the things we had to deal with, and I have every phone call, email, and interaction with management saved. I even tried to resolve this without leaving a negative review. I simply asked if we could end things without me having to leave a review and if we could just wash our hands of each other. Unfortunately, they chose not to do that. So now I feel obligated to share our experience and let other renters know exactly what happened. Our move-in balance was $4,490. Our move-out balance, including what we had already paid to them, is $4,637. Add in August rent, and we have paid well over $10,000 to this apartment complex for an apartment we didn't even get to live in for 3 months. I strongly urge anyone considering moving here to do your research and think twice. What may look like resort-style living from the outside can be a very different experience once you are actually living there. I wish I had known all of this before signing a lease. I hope sharing our experience helps someone else avoid going through what we did. Renters, please do your research before moving here. I have the documentation and pictures to back up my experience, and I will be happy to provide them to anyone who needs more information. Update : Julie has now informed me after going through our walkthrough together Tuesday after I turned my keys in that there was additional damages to the carpet that she apparently didn't notice while we were doing our walkthrough. This is a joke!! Please read previous reviews as this has happened to a previous tenant as well!
