Fruit Tartlette: served with Italian meringue, raspberry sorbet, fresh berries & roasted white chocolate
Aya's take:
We were a large party of 40 so we had a set menu where everyone got the same appetizer, entree, and dessert. Although I think it is the most efficient way to serve 40 people, the quality usually suffers. The Hot Smoked Salmon Rillete was a bit dry and tasted too fishy (as if it wasn't fresh). The presentation was nice but after the first bite, I knew I wouldn't enjoy it so much. The Beef Tenderloin was a bit tough to cut through. The potato puree and garlic butter were delicious but considering the tenderloin was the main event, it completely missed the mark for me. The Fruit Tartlette also felt a bit amateur-ish in terms of flavor. I was not a fan of the Italian merengue on top and the flavors clashed with the raspberry sorbet. The best part has to be the view here! It had been raining all day and was dark when we arrived for our 8pm reservation, but I can see this being a great location in the Spring/Summer! read more
