Claustrophobic to say the least. These new open MRI machines are really nice. No closed in feeling. Folks at Westbrook Open MRi are great. I got in, waited maybe 5 minutes and was taken back to the MRI room. Got on the table, was slid back into the machine and away we go. My 30 minutes was over in no time. They have lockers for your personal affects while you are having your MRI done. I would definitely recommend Westbrook to anyone needing an MRI. Cheers!

Here's my experience at the facility within my medical group: I breezed in for my MRI, they place a cage over my neck which snapped into the bed, put headphones on (the procedure is loud), then rolled me in a "tube", my nose was only inches from the wall and it was a bit dark. I'm somewhat claustrophobic, but this was awful, immediate panic attack! I tried for a moment to stay in the tube, then asked the tech to pull me out to catch my breath. I tried it again, the procedure started, but I just couldn't lay there for 20 minutes and asked her to stop and get me out. I was trembling afterwards for awhile, and affected by the whole thing for days including nightmares. I could have asked my Dr for a Valium but that's not for me. I researched online and found Westbrook Open MRI close to me. I went in apprehensively, expecting the experience to be a little better than my last one (I also needed to get the procedure done!). I met with the tech, she was wonderful! She asked questions about my condition leading me to get an MRI, walked me into the MRI room and explained everything and what to expect. The machine is open on the sides, the canopy is still close to your face, but there's a light inside which helps tremendously. She kept asking if I was ok, and gave me tips I could do to feel better. I got thru it and even calmed down while in the procedure. I will definitely go here again if I need to!!

I did not have too much time to find a caregiver, so I called a few places that happened to be at the top of the list when I searched for "Home Health Care." I like to think of it as Home Health One found me instead of the other way around. They were the 3rd call I made. The first 2 companies had recordings and I was on hold most of the time. When I finally did speak to someone, you could tell they were trying to speed up the process more-so than I was, so I felt overwhelmed and pressured and hung up. When I finally got to Home Health One, I was able to speak to a real human right off the bat. She answered every one of my questions thoroughly, was extremely patient with me being a newbie to the process, and assured me my dad would be in good hands. That, she was absolutely right about. A nurse was in my living room with my dad the next day. Assessed him and even made him smile, which I haven't seen in a while... I don't normally spend time writing reviews, but this was a great experience and I felt that I should share it, as I know most of you are currently in the same boat as I was.

I have to give Edward Health Center a great deal of credit, they do a wonderful job…read more All of my physicians are in this network. I've found it's just easier. I have a patient portal where all of my records are, I can pay my bills, I can schedule appointments- one stop shop. Much easier. I went to this location for a mammogram. It was a nice experience. The office was designed to be relaxing for patients. The staff is kind and friendly with each patient. The staff is also great at explaining what is happening, next steps, etc. this is important if you are getting tests run. There is a Starbucks and cafeteria built in - both are nicer than your standard hospital cafeterias. They seemed to build this place with the patient experience in mind.

Couple weeks later I receive a $1,500+ bill. I was SHOCKED!!! For a yearly checkup and to get birth control is what I asked for. NOT for additional testing. Unfortunately I had to go back in October 2018 because my BC script wouldn't be filled without going back to the doctor for the yearly check up. I also had a HMO plan, so Dr. Acharya was my PCP. At this same time, I requested Dr. Acharya refer me to a specialist due to a health concern and he referred his colleague Dr. Afridi. The bill was over $850!!! Just for a yearly check up and refill of BC. UHC initially paid a portion and ended up reversing it - meaning insurance covered NOTHING due to whatever codes Dr. Acharya inserted. Nothing was diagnosed so I have no idea why they would code my check up as a diagnostic. Fast forward to one week later... I have my referral appointment with Dr. Afridi. She sat down with me and we spoke regarding my concerns. She recommended taking some blood so I went to the other room so they could draw blood. I waited for my results in the lobby and there were no signs of cancerous cells and I didn't book another appointment. Same situation as before, I was charged $1,618... insurance initially covered a portion, and after an audit due to the codes Dr. Afridi entered it was classified as a diagnostic meaning UHC insurance wouldn't cover ANY of the bill and reversed the payment UHC originally covered. How are my doctors visits classified as diagnostic when nothing was wrong? UHC reversed the payments on their end on May 16th and Edward Elmhurst sent me to collections the first week of June. Neither UHC or Edward Elmhurst had contacted or tried to communicate this matter to me. I will not be returning to this doctors office. This place is a scam recording whatever codes they want to collect money.

I want to be very honest with this review of Loyola University Medical Center…read more We arrived on Easter Sunday night after being transferred from another hospital, and I was truly grateful we made it. The ICU staff on the 2nd floor were exceptional--kind, professional, and attentive. They consistently checked on us and treated both patients and family with care and respect during a very difficult time. However, after a few days, we were moved to the 3rd floor, and the experience changed significantly. During overnight hours--around 2 AM--the environment has been surprisingly loud. I heard staff using profanity, watching videos or news on their phones at high volume, and openly complaining about long shifts. I understand healthcare is demanding, but this is a hospital setting, and patients (and their families) can hear everything. My relative is here receiving end-of-life care, so I stay overnight. At one point, a nurse questioned my presence rather abruptly before knowing the situation. To her credit, she apologized once she understood, but in moments like these, a little more compassion upfront goes a long way. One of the nurse was rude and jist keep using profanity and stated this is who she is. Wow, Loyola use to have professional nursing staff, what happened? I also noticed interactions where staff spoke to patients in a very casual, sometimes inappropriate tone. Maybe I'm a bit old-fashioned, but professionalism matters--especially in a place where people are vulnerable, grieving, and trying to find peace. My takeaway: There is clearly a strong, compassionate team here--as seen in the ICU--but consistency matters. Professionalism, awareness, and respect should be maintained across all floors, especially during overnight hours. Hospitals should feel calm and supportive, not loud or chaotic. Patients and families deserve that--especially during life's most difficult moments. I will give a 4 star due to our first encounter here and the kindness nurses such as Nicole and Quand and Jordan. Very kind d and attentive. And I just heard 2 nurses use profanity to another nurse. I am sincerely flabbergasted that they speak like this so openly and there are patients present in their rooms. The level of unprofessionalism is amazing, and i am really saddened by this as this hospital was once top hospital. Being part of the joint commission will definitely reflect not only my review, but how I move forward. This is really upsetting me.
