After a bad experience with…read morean extremely painful mammogram at another facility 2 years ago, I came in expecting that I will be in severe pain during the procedure and stressed about it all night. It took me several months to even schedule the appointment, because I was still traumatized. The technician was very friendly and explained the procedure. I told her that my first experience was a really bad one, but she reassured me that it will be fine. They have a newer 3D machine that doesn't have to be clamped down super hard. I held my breath for the first clamp, preparing for severe pain, and was so surprised and relieved when it was just discomfort. After my mammogram, the radiologist reviewed the images and I had an ultrasound. Again, great sonographer who explained the procedure and took thorough pictures of the entire breast plus lymph nodes. I am very happy with my experience today. Wait time was minimal, everyone was welcoming and professional. Scheduling was a little tricky and my appointment was postponed, but once I came in at my scheduled time, I was done in a little over an hour. Highly recommend this facility, especially if you have extremely dense tissue and have suffered through excruciating mammograms elsewhere.

They stated he would now need both an MRI with contrast and without contrast even though we had an MRI without contrast already completed 3 weeks ago and our physician's order always showed MRI with contrast clearly on the paperwork. Bait and switch last minute to make more money on unnecessary testing and further delay my son's treatment plan and PT appts. for him to get better. The woman who called me this morning didn't even try apologizing for any confusion and rather stated that we couldn't have this test done today without both MRI's being completed at the same time. Then on top of that sales pitch, she said there was also no Dr. available today for the MRI w/contrast test so we had to reschedule anyway - wtf??? This is what was the physician's order that was officially approved by them always clearly showed for our appt today. BTW, this is a highly sensitive medical issue for my son and we wasted 2 weeks waiting to be lied to and treated unethically by this organization. Don't make the same mistake as they are also disgusting to work with having 45+ mins hold times to schedule appts. that they don't even adhere to the day of the test. Language barriers also a BIG problem as they are broken english speaking agents. The authorization lead for BrightLight Imaging, John, spoke with me last night at 5pm to confirm all insurance approvals were received and my son could have the test completed today. It's amazing how fast that changed in less than 10 hours with their deceitful upsell process and lies. I will be contacting CIGNA to ensure they review this organization for unethical practices and take them out of their care network. The staff was lovely- the initial call with Cecilia who did all the leg work with my referral and insurance. Then to the vascular ultrasound tech Jose who was such a calming presence and explained everything during the procedure. And finally a consult with Dr. E. who was very knowledgeable and went through all the next steps. Clean, modern office- free parking- coffee. My patient experience was just perfect. Rarely does a Doctor answer their own phone or take the time to clearly and patiently explain technology and procedures. Friendly, as well. Wish all doctors were like Dr. E rather than rock stars. If he had an MRI machine, I would not need to look further.

Nice bonus having Jarosch Bakery next door too, as you can grab coffee and a pastry after your test.

I was a patient for many years and luckily I had good insurance that covered the fee of $650+ per service. All of a sudden I receive a generic letter that states in network patients will only be seen if they pay a $390 "membership fee" on top of whatever co/pays one has. It was also noted that out of network patients don't apply to this rule. Out of network doesn't apply because they have to pay the full amount of their visit to Diagnostic Imaging. This letter was very easy to read between the lines what this facility wants.

Dr. Makris and the staff was super nice and caring - they checked in on me the next day and gave good insturction for the post procedure care. I was treated on a Monday and I went for a RUN on Thursday and I didn't need to miss any work. The bruising and pain were surprisingly minimal and my leg feels and looks great now.

I recommend choosing a different provider that is more transparent with their billing process unless you enjoy unexpected invoices for hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars months after you've already paid. It's also worth nothing that their "billing department" is simply an overseas call center so should you want to discuss these discrepancies, you're out of luck as they're equipped for little more than reciting a script and regurgitating the same figures you've already seen on your bill.

They didn't seem to realize the people in the waiting room could hear their casual conversation. They also don't seem to know basic manners in terms of addressing patients using formal titles and last names, just assuming an informal first name use, and raising their voices to talk to anyone middle aged or older as if assuming dementia. I understand that it's hard to keep staff on hand, and no one has time to train front-end workers in civility and proper manners, the quality of the screening is what is truly important.

The ICU staff on the 2nd floor were exceptional--kind, professional, and attentive. They consistently checked on us and treated both patients and family with care and respect during a very difficult time. However, after a few days, we were moved to the 3rd floor, and the experience changed significantly. During overnight hours--around 2 AM--the environment has been surprisingly loud. I heard staff using profanity, watching videos or news on their phones at high volume, and openly complaining about long shifts. I understand healthcare is demanding, but this is a hospital setting, and patients (and their families) can hear everything. My relative is here receiving end-of-life care, so I stay overnight. At one point, a nurse questioned my presence rather abruptly before knowing the situation. To her credit, she apologized once she understood, but in moments like these, a little more compassion upfront goes a long way. One of the nurse was rude and jist keep using profanity and stated this is who she is. Wow, Loyola use to have professional nursing staff, what happened? I also noticed interactions where staff spoke to patients in a very casual, sometimes inappropriate tone. Maybe I'm a bit old-fashioned, but professionalism matters--especially in a place where people are vulnerable, grieving, and trying to find peace. My takeaway: There is clearly a strong, compassionate team here--as seen in the ICU--but consistency matters. Professionalism, awareness, and respect should be maintained across all floors, especially during overnight hours. Hospitals should feel calm and supportive, not loud or chaotic. Patients and families deserve that--especially during life's most difficult moments. I will give a 4 star due to our first encounter here and the kindness nurses such as Nicole and Quand and Jordan. Very kind d and attentive. And I just heard 2 nurses use profanity to another nurse. I am sincerely flabbergasted that they speak like this so openly and there are patients present in their rooms. They could have told us that on the phone and saved us a 6 mile trip but it's loyola and they don't do anything to make your visit pleasant. They would not even let her sit in the lobby. We had to turn around and leave. I don't know why this hospital is so terrible, not family friendly, it's a shame. Terrible hospital. I need my ppo insurance again so I can attend Northwestern where they treat you like a valuable human.
