It took me several months to even schedule the appointment, because I was still traumatized. The technician was very friendly and explained the procedure. I told her that my first experience was a really bad one, but she reassured me that it will be fine. They have a newer 3D machine that doesn't have to be clamped down super hard. I held my breath for the first clamp, preparing for severe pain, and was so surprised and relieved when it was just discomfort. After my mammogram, the radiologist reviewed the images and I had an ultrasound. Again, great sonographer who explained the procedure and took thorough pictures of the entire breast plus lymph nodes. I am very happy with my experience today. Wait time was minimal, everyone was welcoming and professional. Scheduling was a little tricky and my appointment was postponed, but once I came in at my scheduled time, I was done in a little over an hour. Highly recommend this facility, especially if you have extremely dense tissue and have suffered through excruciating mammograms elsewhere.

No matter the time or situation, whenever I called, Kira was there prompt, attentive, and fully committed to helping me. Her reliability and dedication gave me a sense of comfort and security during a very difficult time in my life. What sets Kira apart is not only her professionalism, but her genuine compassion. She didn't just do her job she cared. She made sure I was comfortable, supported, and never alone in moments when I needed reassurance the most. Kira represents the very best of what healthcare should be. Her kindness, responsiveness, and unwavering support deserve recognition and deep appreciation. I am truly thankful for everything she has done for me. Thank you, Kira, for your outstanding service and for the heart you bring to your work. You made a difference I will never forget. Samuel Adam

I want to be very honest with this review of Loyola University Medical Center…read more We arrived on Easter Sunday night after being transferred from another hospital, and I was truly grateful we made it. The ICU staff on the 2nd floor were exceptional--kind, professional, and attentive. They consistently checked on us and treated both patients and family with care and respect during a very difficult time. However, after a few days, we were moved to the 3rd floor, and the experience changed significantly. During overnight hours--around 2 AM--the environment has been surprisingly loud. I heard staff using profanity, watching videos or news on their phones at high volume, and openly complaining about long shifts. I understand healthcare is demanding, but this is a hospital setting, and patients (and their families) can hear everything. My relative is here receiving end-of-life care, so I stay overnight. At one point, a nurse questioned my presence rather abruptly before knowing the situation. To her credit, she apologized once she understood, but in moments like these, a little more compassion upfront goes a long way. One of the nurse was rude and jist keep using profanity and stated this is who she is. Wow, Loyola use to have professional nursing staff, what happened? I also noticed interactions where staff spoke to patients in a very casual, sometimes inappropriate tone. Maybe I'm a bit old-fashioned, but professionalism matters--especially in a place where people are vulnerable, grieving, and trying to find peace. My takeaway: There is clearly a strong, compassionate team here--as seen in the ICU--but consistency matters. Professionalism, awareness, and respect should be maintained across all floors, especially during overnight hours. Hospitals should feel calm and supportive, not loud or chaotic. Patients and families deserve that--especially during life's most difficult moments. I will give a 4 star due to our first encounter here and the kindness nurses such as Nicole and Quand and Jordan. Very kind d and attentive. And I just heard 2 nurses use profanity to another nurse. I am sincerely flabbergasted that they speak like this so openly and there are patients present in their rooms. The level of unprofessionalism is amazing, and i am really saddened by this as this hospital was once top hospital. Being part of the joint commission will definitely reflect not only my review, but how I move forward. This is really upsetting me.

I had a mammogram there on August 23 by someone who clearly was not interested in her work. Did a fast slip- shod job. I had to return for a diagnostic exam today ( 3 hour ordeal) . Even though I requested to NOT have this technician again: guess who was assigned to me? Same lack luster zombie. So it was no surprise that I had to endure more testing . I will be contacting my insurance company. A dozen other women were return visits as I was ! Hire some qualified staff. Too bad because it's close to home.

The extreme pain I experienced during my mammogram at West Suburban wasn't necessary. I'm not sure if it's their old machine or the technician. I had a bilateral diagnostic mammogram elsewhere and felt discomfort, but absolutely nowhere near the excruciating pain that literally takes your breath away. Also, the ultrasound here only focused on the specific complaint area, not the entire breast, so things could have been missed. I don't get how this place can call itself a breast center with an old torturous machine. Ladies, it doesn't have to hurt THIS bad, we deserve better.

He's since split away and gone out on his own. My first experiences with this practice date back to when it was Trinity Orthopaedics. Dr. Sheehan was an exceptional doctor and Dr. Romano keeps to that tradition. He is thorough with his exams and spends a lot of time interacting with patients and understanding their concerns. I like that he seems to focus more on rehabilitation than surgical intervention, instead favoring physical therapy, sports medicine, and other non-invasive approaches. At the same time, he's not going to ignore the need for surgery when it will get the job done. I trust Dr. Romano to take care of me and do a do a good job. He's an all-around excellent surgeon. One thing that stands out about Dr. Romano is his unique diagnostic approach. He focuses on root causes. He explained to me about one patient who came in wanting shoulder surgery, but he was able to trace the cause to the mid-back. When he treated that, the shoulder pain went away. Had he operated on the shoulder, it probably would have continued to hurt because the shoulder was fine. I went in for an injury and he was quickly able to pinpoint the cause and get me to physical therapy. The physical therapy department in his office, led by Dr. Nugent, is excellent. The guy is really smart and cares a lot about his patients. The only downside is that you may wait a while to be seen. His thoroughness comes at a minor cost. The waits can be long some days, but I'd rather wait for good service than have a doctor spend 2-3 minutes with me on a half-assed exam but be right on schedule. I understand they limit the number of presenting concerns you can bring in a single visit, but that makes sense.
