I purchased a radon detector (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H2VOSP8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and it was showing readings from 5 to over 8 picoliters of radon. 2.5 picoliters is considered safe. I contacted Home Heating and several other radon mitigation services for estimates on mitigating it. 3 of the estimates were in the $1,500 range just for the radon mitigation. Home gave me an estimate $200 to $300 less, and included a new sump pump. TJ and Paul came out to do the install. They did great work, and cleaned up after themselves. The sump is now sealed, and the radon seeping into it is being vented to the outdoors. The radon detector is now reading between .37 and .74 picoliters, well under the recommended safe levels.

They worked with the city to solve how to fix my sewer line on a historical street and with little delay on the process. Kelly called cleaning crews to take care of my house, and this was while I was on vacation. Kelly went above and beyond what was necessary to take care of my house during the process. I highly recommend Kelly and his Best Plumbing team to anyone in the Red River Valley.

Typical story, drain backed up in our laundry room and our basement shower so of course we hopped…read moreon Google to see who could solve the problem. Roto-Rooter is all I'd ever heard of but mostly because of their commercials, not reviews. Looking at some online experiences, people were estimating $300-$400, my jaw dropped! Instead, I first called a local company who didn't give me the time of day and was very rude so I decided against them as well. (A little side note here, I can't stand when you tell someone that you just want an estimate and when they give you one, and you say, "I'm gonna call around and get some more, thank you" they go on the defensive and start bashing every other company in town. To me, that's just childish; tell me what sets you apart from other companies in the area and be dignified about it.) Ok, back on point now... I called A-1 a little past 10:00pm and the man I spoke to (I wish I remembered his name because he was great) gave me an estimate and explained what he thought might be the issue. He answered all my questions and said he could have someone out at 8:15am the next morning. I was surprised because the last place couldn't even get me in the next day. Morning came and Tyler from A-1 showed up on time, assessed the situation and within 5 minutes, was laying down drop cloth and rolling in his machine. About an hour later, he was done and now everything drains correctly. The best part, the price I was quoted, was the price I paid! I won't give specifics, but let's say it was probably a little less than half of what I would've paid with Roto-Rooter. Bottom line, a great local company that knows how to talk to customers on the phone, show up on time, and get the job done at the price that was quoted.

After reading many reviews, I gave A-1 a call. The receptionist was very courteous and knowledgeable about the pricing and services. I was able to get them over within just a couple hours. When they arrived, they were all set and ready to go. Gave Travis a run down of what the issues were, general thoughts and what had been done already and minutes later Travis and Terry had everything hooked up, rolled out a towel and got to work. Job was done, in and out, less than an hour. Fast, knowledgeable and friendly service. They took the time to explain what was really going on and talked us through as they worked. Turned out the issue was far less severe than I anticipated. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a good honest local company. Cost of service and time required was exactly as quoted by their receptionist.
