Roto-Rooter is all I'd ever heard of but mostly because of their commercials, not reviews. Looking at some online experiences, people were estimating $300-$400, my jaw dropped! Instead, I first called a local company who didn't give me the time of day and was very rude so I decided against them as well. (A little side note here, I can't stand when you tell someone that you just want an estimate and when they give you one, and you say, "I'm gonna call around and get some more, thank you" they go on the defensive and start bashing every other company in town. To me, that's just childish; tell me what sets you apart from other companies in the area and be dignified about it.) Ok, back on point now... I called A-1 a little past 10:00pm and the man I spoke to (I wish I remembered his name because he was great) gave me an estimate and explained what he thought might be the issue. He answered all my questions and said he could have someone out at 8:15am the next morning. I was surprised because the last place couldn't even get me in the next day. Morning came and Tyler from A-1 showed up on time, assessed the situation and within 5 minutes, was laying down drop cloth and rolling in his machine. About an hour later, he was done and now everything drains correctly. The best part, the price I was quoted, was the price I paid! I won't give specifics, but let's say it was probably a little less than half of what I would've paid with Roto-Rooter. Bottom line, a great local company that knows how to talk to customers on the phone, show up on time, and get the job done at the price that was quoted.

Then they said they would come back and do some work, it might even take two more days: at $1250 for travel. They charged me $1550 for that first visit, $300 for the two of them to snoop around. I paid them, because I honor my bills, but I HIGHLY recommend you AVOID these guys. They'll probably delete this review, but i will leave it elsewhere where they can't. I called another company, they were very professional, came and found the problem within minutes, returned within days with all the supplies and buttoned it up within hours. No problems since. And it cost me LESS than it would have been to pay these guys for travel, ie. close to $4,000 to get them here three days, AND it cost less than this company quoted me for the actual repairs. So I wasted $1,550 on these guys and was saved additional thousands by getting someone who knew what they were doing and were fair and conscientious in their work ethic.
