Davidoff of London - Absolutely my favourite in the world

They just laughed and welcomed me in. They understood vacation troubles. They were so kind and helpful. Took their time and treated me the same if I bought two sticks or two boxes. Great place. A must stop if you're in London.

No one was quick to help me they just started at me and looked like they didn't want to be at work it was very disheartening considering how excited I was to be there. Once I actually asked someone to help me in the humidor I noticed that the sommelier wasn't helpful and when I picked out a very expensive cigar he picked one out that was cracked. For a $200 cigar I expected a perfect one which there was in the box but he gave me a damaged one. This place is also over priced. After leaving Davidoff of London I went to James J. Fox about 1 minute away and the staff was very helpful and enthusiastic to help me. Their cigars were all in great condition and cheaper than Davidoff of London. I felt like an idiot for over paying for the cigars at Davidoff when I could've purchased better condition and cheaper cigars at J. J. Fox. I heard about Davidoff on Kirby Allison's channel and he speaks so highly of them and grew to love them as well but unfortunately that love is lost. My advice would be to train the staff on hospitality it's clearly lacking, do a better job with quality control, and adjust your prices to be competitive with your neighbors.

You won't know you are actually outside. Large cigar list, including a few with prices so high you can get a headache just by looking at them. These include a 50th Anniversary Cohiba for a mere 10,000 £. They also have many normally-priced cigars in the 35-65 £ range. Service is outstanding as behooves the markup on the cigars and cocktails. Cocktails are well-made. A nice selection of wines by the glass, including several champagnes they are not outrageously priced. It is not inexpensive, but all things considered one of the best places to have a stick in London. If you want a good cigar in a comfortable spot with stellar service, I highly recommend the Garden Room.

The room itself is…read moreactually an underground outdoor patio, but with the heaters and club-like leather chairs, it's as good as smoking inside in your favourite gentlemen's club with a slight draft. As it goes, smoking inside is a thing of the past here in England as a result of the smoking ban enforced beginning in 2007. The garden room is a bar and cigar lounge. The prices are pretty high, but ensures that the rowdy crowd stay out. The minimum charge being 25 pounds. The hotel keeps a wonderful selection of liquor from vintage cognac and whisky to vintage ports and burgundy's. The cigar menu is one very long list with just about anything you can think of from all the cuban cigar makers, from fresh cigars to vintage cigars. The environment is top notch, and the service provided for cigars is of a very high quality. Although, it is not necessary to purchase cigars from the premises to smoke them there, their walk-in humidor is perhaps one of the best maintained in London ensuring optimum smoking pleasure. They open until 11pm, or 1030pm on Sundays, but I stayed until midnight and never felt rushed; I was never told to leave. I highly recommend the Lanesborough as one of the best heated smoking venues in London; an excellent place for a light business meeting or just to relax with like-minded friends over a good cigar. While smoking, the waitresses also bring around handmade chocolates - these compliment cigars very well. I had a Cuaba Piramids Limited Edition 2008, it was smooth unlike any Cuaba I've tried in the past, and the notes of cocoa were very evident. A relative bargain in the cigar world at 20 pounds. I paired this with a glass of sherry. A torch lighter service is offered by the Lanesborough, but I prefer to use the wooden match method, warming up the cigar with the first match, charring the cigar on the second, and finally light the cigar on the third.

We went with three different options from their tasting menu/cocktail tour, and were wowed away by each and every round of the molecular cocktail experience! There were a range of flavours, temperatures, liquors, flavours and modes of "drinking" each of the rounds. Situated in the Shoreditch area, the location is great! The decker is also very trendy with the dimly lit speakeasy vibe. The service was great. Cannot wait until I'm in London again to go back and try another one of the options on the tasting menu.

The space isn't a true speakeasy as there's a clear entrance you go to, vs finding the secret entrance and all that jazz. Aside from that, the vibe is moody and chill. Menus are in the books at the tables. They offer ala carte drinks or you can choose their 5 drink tasting menu which is popular. We all got the tasting menu, every person getting a different theme. Drinks are creative, whimsical, fun and playful. I'm not much of a drinker so I was concerned this would be a bit much for me, but this is about the experience, the drinks werent too big or overly boozy, or anything. The themes from the 39 euro tasting menu are: 1. Cocktail history. This is the most traditional drink direction 2. Naughty childhood. Drinks are candy and dessert based. Not necessarily overly sweet so don't worry about that. 3. Nature. 4. West meets east. Asian themed drinks. This was most creative and I wish I got this one. 5. Gourmet. French themed. This is the one that didn't get chosen from our group. 6. Get ready and go. London themed. All the drinks were super creative. There was so much thought around presentation put into them. And they update their drinks regularly. I'll definitely come back so I can try more of the other themes. Note. They have very very minimal snacks available so make sure you eat ahead of time.
