What a find! Went here for a works dinner out. Menu was straightforward with some "posh" options. You cannot grumble for £42 for 2 courses and £48 for three courses on a Friday night in Soho! Service was great, poor waitress was running around like a loon, but she did an excellent job! The prawns for starters were blinking delicious, the Chateaubriand was melt in the mouth amazing. Cocktails well tasty! Only slight meh was the deserts were a bit naff and not up to par. The evening we had live jazz / smoky singer, until around 10:30, then "sing-a-long" favourites until the DJ kicked in at 11pm. Definitely going back to this place! Lunch surprise! To be honest I wasn't expecting much, and walking in during a weekday it was very empty except for the entry atrium. However I was pleasantly surprised as they offer a vegetarian menu which was top notch. There's a nice pool table which I imagine is used a lot in the evenings. read more

Date of Visit: 04.08.18 Time: 7.30pm Review: A really nice place to visit a venue with all you need from a good night out. Food, Drinks, Music, People....From the moment you enter you feel like a star entering a hip venue which would not be out of place in the middle of Mayfair to be honest. Add this to a reasonable priced food menu with various set menu and course options to boot you cant go wrong. Good place for couples as well as groups and a nice crowd and mix of people which is also good. Even when you leave you enter the hustle of Soho which you have to experience on a Friday and Saturday night. The venue also have their own photographer so when the venue turns from bar to resturant to club you get a nice dance floor areas as tables are cleared and photographer is also about to take your group shots...A great place for all so worth a visit. Dress Code: Told there is a strict dress code of no sportswear but on arrival looks like some bypassed this rule but most people were dressed well and ready for a night out. Cuisine Type: Modern European Parking: There is an NCP car park within easy walking distance and one of the few in the area. Decor & Lighting: Low lighting which looks good but not good for any photos of your group or photos so make sure to bring a flash. Great decor and I have been during the day as well as evening and looks good both times. So please do excuse my photos which are not as good as I would like as next time I will take my DSLR in order to cope with the low light levels as my photos don't really do the venue much justice. Heating and Cooling: The temperature fluctuated from good to hot at times. Ambience & Acoustics: Very noisy place and you can hear the people you came with but you have to raise your voice and it depends where you sit as there is a stage area where the sound will be 10 times louder... Service: Well on a positive note the staff and manager are all very friendly and from the outset it is professional in that people at the entrance know your booking and where your group is seated so this is a smooth service and you have a cloakroom which is also good. Servers nice and friendly but then when you are having dinner the training is very sub-par with staff not knowing the basics of clearing down a table and cleaning surface after a course as well as not being attentive and always having to be chased. A very slow service with the wrong level of training for service staff which is the only let down. They really could score 10 out of 10 if they pushed their service level up. DB Level: We had corner booth and still hitting 90db Drinks: No cocktails on the menu but if you drink you will be ok. We had the following: Mixed quinoa & cauliflower tabbouleh hazelnuts & cranberries - A nice portion and really fresh salad, I know most will like the cranberries but as I am not a fan this was a little overpowering to me but i still enjoyed the dish. 225g fillet of beef, roasted cep mash baby onions, bordelaise sauce - Really well cooked and I substituted the bordelaise (red wine) sauce with peppercorn which was not an issue and glad this was possible. Also the dish came with a roasted mushroom and to be honest the mushroom and sauce and mash along with the baby onions just all cooked to perfection and all the elements of the dish worked well and complimented each other but giving the steak the main focus still which is the way it should be. I will be going back just for the steak for sure. Green beans, chilli, red onion - A must extra to go with your steak as the infusion with the chilli and red onion works so well with the steak dish it really should come with it as it is that good. Warm chocolate fondant, pistachio ice cream - Not bad at all, arrived warm and very soft with good visual appearance also. Bill / Cost: £350.00 for 5 people including drinks but set menus only at £30 and £42 so reasonable on the food. Conclusion: I like the venue for a number of reasons from the bar upstairs and down to the great resturant downstairs that has live singers and bands which really makes the day and turns into a live band club with dance floor and then DJ later. So the venue has it all for your night no need to move onto anywhere else and a nice crowd. I would recommend a visit and book to ensure you get a good seat and if you like live music ask to be seated near the stage. You also have private rooms and VIP areas so really nice touch. The other thing to note was the food was good...Also a few vegetarian options as well as many fish courses so a well put together menu to cater for all. read more

This was a great find for lunch! The lunch menu available from 11-3pm is absolutely delicious. The interior of the restaurant is great aswell! For starter I had the crispy squid with chilli and lime followed by ribs served with a side green salad. The portion sizes were a lot bigger than expected for the lunch menu which was a great surprise! For dessert I had the molten chocolate which was absolutely delicious. All of this for £12.95 (one of the best finds yet)! I would definitely recommend. This lunch was followed by a game of pool at the back of the restaurant! Lovely lunch! The first thing that I'll say about 100 Wardour St is that they've done a very good job with the refurbishment. Heading downstairs to be greeted by the house band is a nice touch although depending on where you are then sat it may be the only glimpse that you get of them. The dining room itself looks pretty classy with a very good finish although the main reservation that I have with it is the amount of light. Where I was sat was particularly dark and it made looking at the menu and seeing the food correctly a little bit more difficult than it should have been. First things first and it was time to choose some wine. Our waiter was very helpful with the questions we asked and was happy to make recommendations. Unfortunately they first 2 wines that we decided on were not yet in stock. Luckily the 3rd bottle was and turned out to be delicious. With wines ranging from £19 to hundreds there should be something to suit everyone's budget. After ordering a few starters to try and taste as much as possible as well as mains we waited for their arrival. Turns out that the small starter plates were slightly bigger than expected and were hit and miss. Highly recommended would be the queen scallops, pork belly and the marinated Basque steak; one to avoid would be the aubergine dip. The fillet steak main was one of the best I've had in London and the french fries were a nice accompaniment however the yellowfin tuna was a bit of a let down and not something I would order again. Even after all this food there was still room for a little bit more. There usually is! We decided to plump for the french toast which was very nice but incredibly rich and I'm glad we decided to share as I wouldn't have been able to eat the whole thing. The other choice was the pineapple carpaccio which was a very good dish indeed and what I would heartily recommend finishing your meal with. 'Ok' sums up this Soho restaurant / lounge club / bar. It's impressive when you walk in with low-lighting (great for dates) and two choices of restaurant (an overpriced one upstairs and a reasonable one downstairs). You could start a night with dinner and then watch a band and never have to leave the venue. But when a place tries to do too much, they don't do anything particularly well. Food was alright, with a nice portion size of cod and same of chicken but nothing on the side so you have to pay a lot extra for veg and carbs (ie chips). Cocktails are expensive and the band wasn't terrible but not majorly captivating. You'll probably get in without a reservation as its massive so it's good if you're in the area and don't fancy queuing for better food. I think I'd rather brave a queue next time. Came down with some friends for the Latin night event with live Cuban band which was amazing and beautiful carnival ladies in skimpy g-string outfits. There was also a couple that did a salsa dance number, then lots of people got on the dance floor to dance to the live band. It was an open bar which was great but it seemed like 10 years before we got served so my friend and I ordered double drinks. The free canapés were very sparse. The service from the waiters in the dining area were pretty poor. I asked several waiters for help with something or even a menu to order food and they would say they'll be back in a minute and just didn't come back! But all in all the live music was amazing, 10 out of 10 and we had quite a good time. read more

I've been here twice and this review will reflect my overall opinions. Both times I've been here I've been part of a large group, and this venue is large enough that it attracts a lot of groups. It makes its very loud which is fine but don't expect an in depth catch up with your friends. The service was ok-ish. It's slow, and they will push you off the table as soon as your allotted time is within sight. They have a lot to deal with so I can understand why it's not amazing service here. I would advise knowing what you want to eat and drink before arriving because you may run out of time if you're hesitant to order (like me!). The food is not for me. It's trying to be something special and it's failing miserably. It's also horrendously expensive. I would rather spend my money in pizza express because frankly the food is nicer and better value for money. Drinks were good and I think place should primarily been seen as a bar, but I wasn't as keen on the atmosphere. I wouldn't choose to go back. read more

I came for the Wednesday Latin Nights which they had just started every Wednesday from 9pm. I invited a group of friends down as two friends were having birthdays on that day, and we had a great time. There was a live band and they started the evening with an act from some salsa dancers, which was really entertaining and vibrant, before everyone else got on the floor to dance too. The cocktails were a little more expensive due it to being bang in the middle of Soho, at £10 a go, but the beers at £5.50 and £19 a bottle of wine is on par with most West End clubs. The bar was pretty busy so took quite a time to get served. There was a restaurant area near the dance floor but this was quite empty, I did not see many diners. Our group sat at the low tables and soft seats nearer the bar, where it was ideal for drinking and chatting. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I absolutely would. The customer service is absolutely horrendous here. I came here to celebrate my friends and I birthday, and we very excited to try it as we heard great things, however it was by far the worst customer experience I have ever received in a restaurant. The wait staff were incredibly rude and kept rushing us throughout the meal even though we were well informed of the 2 hour limit. They would not let my friend order the preset 3 course menu, the waiter kept saying we would not have enough time to do so because they needed the table in 2 hours instead of trying to accommodate us, or even allow us an option to order and take home what we wanted. We got interrupted twice for no reason throughout the meal by the booking manager, just to remind us that we had a 2 hour limit without making any amends, just rudely interrupting us as we were trying to enjoy our dinner. No other table was being harassed the way we were with waiters and managers did with us, just rushing us and taking away what was supposed to be enjoyable experience. In addition, the menu was limited and they did not even have what we wanted, and the online selection was very different to what was actually being offered. On top of all this I tried to speak to the manager (working downstairs on Saturday October 2, Hispanic male), and instead of being understanding and trying to apologize he was incredibly rude. He just kept demanding that we pay immediately and that he needed the table and that we had to leave, and threatened to get security. Which was absolutely uncalled for and highly rude and offensive. I asked to speak with him about the matter, and he said we had to leave the table first- again just demanding payment, and that he would meet us at the bar, in which we waited for him and he never showed up to meet us, he saw us and walked away. We went upstairs to try to speak with another manager, Anthony. He was no better, he basically belittled what happened and actually said that the customer is not always right, and did not apologize and said, that there was no point being here all night complaining and insisting that I get on with my night and that nothing could be done at this time to rectify this in I quote. I asked about who else I can get in contact with regarding this matter, and he was very dismissive. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I would not recommend this place in the least. From the waitstaff all the way up to management they do not care or value their customers and I would not recommend giving this place any business. There are so many other great restaurants in London that actually care about their customers and offer excellent customer service, that is better off going to then this place! read more

For my birthday we had friends over at 100 Wardour Street from 7pm onwards. We got a table and spent approx £400 on food and drinks. Our group had a large ratio of girls to guys. We had 5 more friends wanting to join later in the night, around 11pm, when a bunch of other people were entering just for drinks- but the "GM" at the door would not let them in for no clear reason, even though it was 2 girls and 3 guys. I was ready to spend another £1000 just to get them in as I had invited them and felt terrible watching them wait outside, which I repeatedly kindly and very humbly tried to request and reason with the manager, but the he would not let them in, despite the fact that the lounge (2 entire floors) were half empty and he was clearly letting other people in. He kept telling me, "why should I do you a favour". My friends ended up leaving. The manager seemed like he just got joy out of not letting decent people in. Having lived in London for many years, I know how things can be when trying to go to an exclusive night club where a doorman randomly picks his/her patrons to enter. But I didn't expect this from reasonably chilled out bar in the middle of Soho, which happened to be half vacant as well. Safe to say, I wouldn't recommend you host any event at this venue. There are far better and more decent and reasonable places in London where you don't have to deal with an unnecessarily difficult and arrogant manager. read more

I visited the restaurant with a group of friends. On arrival, I was rudely asked by the bouncer if I had a reservation and told to go and "stand there and wait". I eventually spoke to the host who told me my friends had arrived, but she gave me no indication of where the table was. Now this place is over 2 floors and is pretty big. After 5 minutes I finally found them. Not a great start, having already been spoken to in a very rude manner by all staff I had approached. I then sat with my friends and looked at the menu. The waitress came over and demanded to take our order, rudely and abruptly announcing that we only had the table for 2 hours. Now I'm used to this type of set up, so I had no issue with the time limit. But the waitress was extremely unfriendly and made me feel like a burden rather than a paying customer. Her poor service didn't end there. When my main arrived, it had been mixed up with my friends, which we only realised later. I had ordered my steak medium rare and this is not what I was presented with. Having paid £28 for the steak alone, I would expect it to arrive as ordered. My side sauce which I had also paid for was missing. When I asked about the sauce I was ignored and it never arrived. After initially being pestered to order our food quickly, when it came to ordering dessert we waited a while to order, and then 20 minutes for it to arrive. This left us 5 minutes to eat and pay. Low and behold half way through eating dessert the waitress was back with the bill, telling us we needed to pay. We were given no time to receive the bill and were told we needed to take our wine (which was ordered at the same time as the dessert) and pay at the bar. I've never felt so angry! The delay was not our fault yet we were still forced to move. The waitress was condescending and when we told her about her rude and awful service, she seemed shocked!! Mouthful of dessert and wine in hand, we moved through the busy restaurant to the even busier bar area to pay the bill and get out! It gets better. The waitress disappeared and we waited 20 minutes, eventually paying with another server. We could finally leave! But no, a security guard stopped us all and shouted at us for not paying the bill. We told them we had the receipt which she snatched from my friends hand like an angry toddler. I could not believe what I was seeing. The manner in which she treated us was appealing. She may as well have then processed to escort us out because that's certainly how it felt. I have never felt this way when dining out and will never be returning to this place. read more
