He seems unaware of sub factors like stress at work, ability to pay bills or actual housing situation. All other factors seem to be disregarded all together. Furthermore; having to write an evaluation or doctors note seems to be an inconvenience to him, also including irrelevant opinions based on how he feels unrelated to medical evaluation. He may be a good doctor for some but i encourage anyone to look elsewhere if they don't feel Dr. Hwang has their best medical interests in mind. Patient centered care at it's best. I don't walk out the office confused. - Yes he takes time to get to you, but it's because he spends time with patients. Not one of those 8 min, you're done type doctor visit. - He does his own vitals. Not his M.A. or nurses. Even if they did, he rechecks it. What not to love about this doctor. I've been meaning to write a review of Dr. Warren Chang for some time now. He is my father's…read morenephrologist (kidney doctor). My family and I truly cannot thank Dr. Chang enough for his life-saving work. In summary, a few years back my father's kidney function had declined significantly, which his primary care doctor had failed to inform him about despite blood tests etc. (this is a whole other story...). After several stints in the hospital and ICU, I searched frantically for a seasoned nephrologist and found Dr. Chang. He and his colleagues from Westbay Nephrology came to my father's aid and made repeated visits to the hospital to monitor my dad. The primary care doctor never visited my father once. Thanks in large part to Dr. Chang's expert care, my father's kidney function improved to the point where he did not need dialysis. Today my dad is stable and continues to see Dr. Chang regularly for his thorough care and expertise. We are so grateful for Dr. Chang.

I was told by the receptionist (this was 16 days ago) that the doctor would review our request and I would hear back from them the next day. I didn't. So I call back and another person tells me that "it can take several days for the doctor to make a determination about a new patient. She has lots of things on her desk". At this point I already have a bad feeling about the doctor and her staff if it takes them several days to get back to a new patient. But I thought I would perhaps get a call after a week. Nope.. Two Weeks? Uh-uh. It's not two weeks plus and no call-back. The doctor might be wonderful with patients. Unfortunately, for me the process of getting in to see her was a major turnoff.
