I ignored the reviews, the low ratings and I went ahead and purchased from these guys and I can't express how deeply I feel that it was one of the most stupid mistakes I've ever made. The abundance of bad ratings make it clear that my experience was not an isolated incident, but rather a pattern here and it ain't pretty. Here are a few examples of how incompetent these clowns are. Guy comes out, measures the area to be carpeted but FORGETS to place an order for one of the rooms. They eventually removed the old carpet, but discovered they didn't have the new carpet so they just left nails sticking out of the ground creating a very dangerous situation. The same doofus, who measured a hallway, got the measurements so wrong it was laughable. Especially when you considered prior to coming out I gave him the measurements I had made to use as a double check for his work. I stressed the importance of getting in the missing carpet ASAP. When they finally get it in they FORGET to call me and tell me it has arrived. So I was waiting for the carpet while it was sitting around in the warehouse. I got tired of waiting for them to call so I checked myself only to discover "Oh yeah, we got that in" So buyer beware, do not purchase from these guys. There's lots of other options available. Recently had carpeting installed and so appreciated the service from start to finish. Matt was so helpful in choosing the carpet and the selection best suited for the area to be done. Went in on Monday and the carpet was installed by Friday! My interaction with Larry the manager to the gentleman who did the installation meant a lot to me. read more

We tried RiteRug with three projects. The first installation LVF was done incorrectly. It took two separate tries over weeks to eventually get it correct (e.g. hot glued the transition on top of carpet so when the carpet moved so did the transition, thus it was not flush to the floor and wobbled; the planks were stacked instead of a variation of sizes and seams). Mark was phenomenal to deal with, so we tried their store again when we were prepping our condo to sell. Our second and third experiences were in November 2020 during COVID. The first experience was prior COVID summer 2019. Our second experience included LVF again, and we were promised by Mark it would be a better installation team. That experience went well. Then came the carpet. We had brand new trim installed the day before. RiteRug damaged nearly all of the brand new trim. We spent more money replacing the brand new trim than we spent initially on the brand new trim. The company response was to offer us $100 with the confirmation that damage to trim is expected and acceptable as a normal installation. They only consider it damage when it fully breaks the trim in half. It took over a month to finally get a response as they lost our first complaint and never followed up. Not only did they damage literally every wall and section of trim in the the bedroom, hallways, living room, dining room, and office, but they left two bloody finger prints on the painted new walls (during COVID). We sent them photos of the damaged walls, trim, broken trim, and bloody finger prints. They support their policy, so we want to make sure any potential customer understands and are informed of that policy before they spend thousands of dollars on installations and potentially damage. We were unaware of this policy when we enlisted their services. I also think it's worth noting that after they incorrectly installed the first LVF we decided to go with someone else to install the carpet. We had custom Amish made trim installed throughout the house, and were recommended by the company to have it placed before the new carpet so that they could tuck the carpet under the trim. They did not damage a single spot. They installed carpet in every room except the kitchen (LVF), and did not damage a single piece of trim. I cannot imagine how upset we would have been had RiteRug destroyed the custom trim like they destroyed the trim throughout our condo. Mark is phenomenal, so we can only recommend purchasing from this store and through him. We cannot recommend their installations, their policies, customer service, or quality control. They have a nice selection and competitive prices, which is why we chose to try their store again. We will pay more elsewhere before we again give this company business. Simply, we would have paid less overall with higher prices from somewhere else than the additional time (time to find contractors to redo work) and money we spent fixing brand new work we had just paid contractors to complete. It took us nearly two months to get our condo on the market after it was literally set to be listed several days after the carpet install. We even had an interested buyer in November waiting for the place to be listed. It was a nightmare, and their policy and response to the damage they created was incomprehensible. They did not address or officially acknowledge the bloody finger prints. Though, they did at least say it was gross when we told them. I attached photos of what they consider normal damage to the wall and trim for a carpet installation. This is not even a quarter of the damage throughout the house. These walls were just painted with BM paint and the trim was literally brand new. They offered us $100 for the trim that was literally broken in half. Buyer beware. Identify the installation policy and threshold for the definition of damage before you use any business. read more

Our salesman (Aaron) was awesome. However, sales has no control over installation so it actually too MONTHS for them to complete our installation. Not only months but they had to do it in three steps: Flooring, transition strips, quarter round. We are happy with sales and with the flooring but I would never recommend them because of installation. It's too bad because overall the flooring is quite nice. read more

Well, I am a previous customer that gave a low rating the first review. I wanted to update my review after my overall experience. While I was upset that I felt I was just given a canned install timeline, now that my floor has been completed, I love it! Both my installers were prompt and courteous and I had even went back to my salesperson, Mark, for more flooring. So in the end, I was happy with RiteRug and Mark, it was worth the wait. My wife and I wanted to replace the carpet in our living room, dining room, stairs, landing, bathroom and master bedroom. We were concerned because the new carpet would be abutting the old in three places and the installation was tricky. We selected RiteRug as we had used them before and their installer, Javier, is an artist with carpet. At RiteRug Shawn Pope was excellent. He recommended a carpet color and material that complemented the existing carpet perfectly. Then Javier and his assistant did their usual professional installation job with no hiccups. We paid them on Oct. 5 to install a floor in our family room. It is now Feb. 16, and the floor has been installed for months, but Rite Rug will not finish the job -- they will not install a transition that we paid them to install, and the floor looks bad. We have complained many times -- via phone, the main corporate website, email and Twitter. They keep telling us that they are working on it, but they never finish. read more

Larry is a very nice salesman. And so is that fair skinned, blond headed guy. However, there was a dark haired guy in there last year (I wish I would have gotten his name) who seemed to be maybe the manager who told me to, "get out of my store" or he would "throw me out". He told me he "you are lucky I haven't 'thrown' you out already". "You come into my store all the time, and just throw samples down on the floor all the time"; get out of my store". I had recently had 2 major surgeries and finally had the energy to come back in so I could continue my rental house project. I had been in one other time since the surgery, but didn't purchase that time. I had used Rite Rug for a project in the past. but Larry was on vacation this second time for my current project, which I hadn't been able to finish because of the surgery and the fact that I work full time as well. I was looking at several samples this day last year; i put them on the floor to see how they looked down, but I couldn't pick them back up. I honestly didn't think they would mind. I was taught in my MBA program that the customer is always right. And I wasn't damaging anything; I mean I wasn't throwing anything around or otherwise destructive. I wasn't angry or verbal. There were no other customers in the store at the time. The blond haired guy wanted to answer my question and was very nice. i went up to the desk to tell them I had already had measurements done; but did I need them again? The blond headed guy started to respond back to me nicely, and the manager spoke very loudly and said, "No" we are measuring, and get out of my store, NOW". and threatened me with bodily harm. I've never ever been thrown out of a store. I said, "I'm going". He said, "And don't you ever come back". I said, "I won't", and I didn't even yell even though I was hurt very very badly. I wrote the company, but they never responded back. All I got was a call from Larry saying, "Come in, and I will help you". read more

Wish I had read all the reviews and complaints BEFORE purchasing carpet from this company. First, installer broken down vehicle cannot come. Second installer came later than promised, then ran out of carpet before job complete. Third installer says he's waiting for AAA with his blown tire, but will call back. Never called. Service manager says will have another installer at house first thing in morning. NO call, NO installer, NOTHING! But wait, I was told the silver lining to this whole situation is that all this extra labor and materials isn't costing me anything!! Really?? How very kind of you! MY TIME IS VALUABLE and I've lost tons of it!! Job still not complete. read more

Interesting to read that another person experienced an incompleted project in their home! At the end of May, Rite rug installed vinyl flooring in 3 rooms of my home but forgot to order the quarter round. After 2 weeks they brought the quarter round. However they stained it using the wrong type of wood. End result being it didn't match my woodwork. Two weeks later, more quarter round was sent out but this time it wasn't stained at all. It is now July and I still have an incompleted project! I tried to contact the sales rep and was told he's on a two week vacation. I personally stopped in the store, explained the situation to another sales rep and was told he couldn't help me. Guess I will have to wait for the sales rep to return from vacation before anything can be resolved. I might add that Rite Rug requires full payment BEFORE they will install which makes you vulnerable to any errors or mistakes they make. I was thinking of replacing my flooring in the kitchen but I will not be using the services of Rite Rug! read more
