I was connected to this company through my roadside assistance coverage. I was not by my car at the time, and there was a 30min window of time where I could not be by the car. Once I received the confirmation text with tow company's contact details, I immediately called to explain the situation and was rudely told that they do not work around my schedule. I tried to explain my situation again and was rudely told that if I was not there when they arrive then it's not their problem. I had my roadside coverage cancel the order with Rite Hook and use a different service. read more

Towed my vehicle and when it reached its destination the driver locked the keys in the car. When i called the office to make them aware the dispatcher said "ok have a nice day" no apology no concern and not a care about the situation. Did not even ask if I needed assistance to retrieve the keys. Very UNPROFESSIONAL and i do not recommend this company. read more

Very disappointed with this company. They needed to take my undriveable van 4 miles to a dealership service center. The lot was locked so they took it behind the Hooters which was next door and dropped it in a gravel parking lot associated with the dealership, locked the key inside and never told anybody where the vehicle was. They hung up on my insurance agent and the supervisor to the towing Assistance service. When I called to let Rite Hook know that it took 25 hours for my vehicle to actually be delivered where it needed to be he was very unapologetic and very ignorant. I would never recommend this company to anyone who cares about their vehicle. It was a horrible situation for myself, my husband, my insurance company and the dealership. Was in a car accident and needed a tow. Was told 45 minutes. Kept calling every 30 minutes to say he's be there in 20 minutes. 3 hours later I called and reamed out the operator and the tow was there in 15 mins. Dishonest with timelines. My guess is they told the insurance company an hour to get the job and figured they would just leave the customer hanging until they got there. I would not recommend using. Also shared this information with the insurance company so they don't use them again. read more

This company is horrendous. Every positive review you see is by someone associated with the company in a desperate PR move to Bring light to the company. Like the other 29 reviews before me, they're notoriously late to ETA's and in my case a "no show" with no update phone calls from the company in regards to whereabouts. If you need a tow, I highly recommend Rite Hook. I had a flat tire and was stranded in Camden, NJ. Wanted to go through my warranty since it offered roadside, it took them a few minutes to find a tow company since they reached out to a few but I am very happy they found Rite Hook. Within 30 minutes of my talking to the dispatch (Diamond was the name of the dispatcher), the driver, Joey, was hooking up my car and was professional throughout. Rite hook was intentionally lying to aaa and myself about their eta. Arrival time was supposed to be 2:20pm, actual arrival time was 4:15. My initial call to aaa was 1:10. (Aaa stated they will never use rite hook again) on my first phone call to this company I was greeted by a coward who took advantage of my dilemma and threatened to cancel the tow if I didn't stop yelling. I had two sleeping kids in the back seat and I'm not a yeller. the treatment and service I received was completely unnecessary and unbecoming of a aaa company and I hope aaa drops them. The guys tried to be friendly, but they were totally inexperienced for the job of towing our two vehicles 160mi via highway, in the dark and rain, and put our family and property in danger. Our driver did not know how to safely operate the tow truck, and broke numerous laws while towing us, including speeding at 75mph (at 3am in the dark during a pouring rain storm), repeatedly swaying across multiple lanes of traffic, crossing medians, and holding/talking on a cell phone to take a personal call (including Facetime!) while barreling down the freeway doing all of the above. I repeatedly had to ask the driver not to use his cell phone (there is a hands free law in states we drove through), to watch blind spots, and to slow down and make legal turns and lane crossings. I would NEVER use ritehook again. read more

Reviewing places that you really never want to use is tough.. Especially when your trusty Jeep just dies on the highway right before rush hour, in the beautiful city of Newark, when you were actually on your way to the dealer to get a recall completed - which is the reason for my trusty Jeep to die last night.. So, here I am, stranded on I-78 West in the express lane at approximately 4pm. I called my insurance company, finished that most enjoyable phone call and, "Rite Hook Towing" was assigned as the company two tow my jeep from Newark to Butler.. Yea, about 40 miles away... So, being rush hour, it did take them a little while longer to get to me, but when they did, nothing but a professional, outstanding job was provided. The driver was Pedro and even though he was doing his job, he certainly took great care of my Jeep, hooked it up, and brought it to the dealer. We had great conversation along the way and even in this awful experience, I was able to keep a smile on my face. Thank you so much Pedro for your professionalism and care. You hear horror stories about tow companies and the people who come help you out, but nothing but professionalism from this company and tow driver. Highly Recommended!!!! read more

I just had my car towed by Rite Hook tonight. After reading the horrible reviews, I was petrified. They were assigned to me by USAA Roadside Assist. They told me it would take 90min to get there, but it took 120min (which was a long time to sit in a car in the rain on 295), but the only available tow truck was all the way up in Elizabeth, NJ. So, I completely understood why it took him so long to get down to me in the Medford area. Gabriel was the driver of the tow truck and he was truly an angel. He was funny, kind, and so helpful and efficient. He was quick, and very skillfully moved my car. I would recommend him a million times over. Thanks for being my angel tonight, Gabriel! read more

Flat tire on a Sunday afternoon, 2 miles from the dealership; just a simple puncture to plug. The guy who picked up my car was professional, not overly friendly but no problems. I was told the car would be delivered to the dealership by 9:30 am the next day. Nope. It didn't arrive until 1:30pm. On my second phone call the manager said, "we'll get it there when we get it there." Really? On my third phone call he said, "You should have taken Lyft or public transportation if you wanted to go to work. That's not my problem." That's the manager! Very rude. read more

Today, I'm stranded and need my car towed about 20 miles to my husbands dealership. I call my roadside assistance and they connect me with Right Hook Towing - great, I've used them before and everything was good. First, the estimate was for 60 minutes, and they took over 90 minutes to get to me. Then when the guy finally gets to me and out of his truck he tells me it'll be $56... I tell him my insurance company told me $1.70 (The roadside assistance pays the first $100). The driver says "Not my problem" and literally jumps in his truck and drives off! I didn't even get a chance to get the $56 because I'm stuck and he's here. Or the opportunity to call roadside assistance back. He just left! So then, I call Right Hook Towing myself to see what's going on. The guy who answers the phone tells me he's "too busy to listen to me complain" and he hangs up on me! I call back and ask to speak to a manager, he says he's the owner. Wow! What a way to do business. What's sad is that I've used Right Hook Towing before... heck, they are less than a mile from my house! Guess I won't be calling them anymore... read more

At around 11pm 07/19/2015 Saturday nite, after exiting on to route 70 west, My wheel lugs on my passenger tire snapped off.fortunate for me,I was driving about 15 miles per hour at the time. And wasn't killed ad well ad any other motorist. I have Geico roadside and this company was dispatched to my location.My driver Joe was AWESOME he completely EXCEEDED my expections & went the extra mile for me and located my tire that shot like a rocket into a bushy, grassy area with a lot of bugs and insects. He towed me to the mechanics place close by and dropped me off. At my place.It took a while, but it was Saturday nite and was very thankful he helped me .If the owner of RITE HOOK TOWING is reading this,PLEASE take GREAT CARE of JOE he's a super person and Exceptional driver and was very professional!!! I was at a convenience store, at the air pump. The stem valve broke off, right there. The tire went flat. AAA sent Rite Hook. First the operator insisted on parking some yards away, instead of backing up to my vehicle. I told him he would damage the tire driving on it. He insisted and said he knew. Told me to get in the truck. I did and tried to put on the seatbelt. There was no place to plug it in, the bracket was broken off. Only a piece of metal remained. When the person got in, I said there was a problem and I wouldn't ride with him. It was unsafe. First, he told me he'd already loaded the vehicle. I said that was not my problem. He called his company and told them he'd been having trouble with it, today. When he said I didn't want to ride in the unsafe truck, the person hung up on him. He then managed to pull the lap belt across me (Shoulder strap behind me) and push it into the bracket on his seat. I said he would not have one and and his response was he didn't use it. He called back and told the person on the other end he'd solved the problem. I heard the voice snarl, "Unload her." I got out and he drove the vehicle back to it's original spot. I called AAA. They expressed surprise and remorse and gave me a supervisor who said I would never have to deal with Rite Hook, again. They said someone else was 13 miles away and on route to me. 45 minutes later, another Rite Hook truck showed up. By then I was very upset and told the person that I'd been promised I would never have to deal with this awful company. I called AAA again. With more apologies for Rite Hook, they sent a lovely fellow in a truck with seat belts. He backed immediately up to the back of my vehicle and pulled it on. ASK AAA if Rite Hook is the contractor before they are sent. I called at 6:56 PM for hep. By the time Rite Hook was done wasting my time, the AAA truck picked me up at 10:05. Over three hours on a week nite, in good weather. Plus I got to pay for a new tire......the old one was damaged. It was not when I called. It was flat because the valve broke off. Perhaps they prey on desperate people willing to get in their unsafe vehicles (Truck #20). Who knows where the second person went in the 45 minutes it took him to travel 13 miles. AVOID RITE HOOK. Trust nothing you are told from this place. Pack a lunch cause you will be waiting far in excess of the times given to you. I was told multiple lies in twenty four hours. They even explained a delay with "traffic" problems, yet google maps shows no significant delays anywhere to be found. They delivered my car to the shop five hours after promised- causing a delay to the repairs and costing me more in rental car fees. Tell your car insurance company not to contract with them. Worst experience ever!! On 12/11/17, my daughter had a tire blowout on Rt. 38 in Cherry Hill NJ. She's coved by Honda's road side assistance and called for service. The initial call to Honda was made at approximately 8:30 - 8:45 AM. She received a text from Rite Hook of Cherry Hill that said their ETA was 9:50 AM. An hour or so wait was more then reasonable. Unfortunately they never arrived. I met my daughter at her car, sent her off to work and called Rite Hook at approximately 10:15 AM. I was informed by Rite Hook that they never received authorization from Honda. I was instructed to call Honda , which I did. In speaking with Honda I was informed that they did send over an authorization. Honda said they would re-send the authorization, which they did. At this point it was now 11:00 AM and still no show by Rite Hook. At 11:15 AM I called Rite Hook, and again they insisted no authorization was sent. I called Honda again. They insisted that an authorization was sent. At this point Honda said they would call another Tow Company. The new Two Company contacted me and said they would be there within the hour, which is a standard answer I guess. Fortunately the second Tow company did arrive within the hour, which was 12:45 PM. The final insult was, Rite Hook called me as the second Tow Company was in the process of lifting our car on to the flat bed and asked "if I still needed a tow." What should have taken 2 hours (to be reasonable) took 4 hours because Rite Hook didn't do their job. Never again and I hope Honda take them off their list of approved Two Companies. read more

I wish i could them them ZERO STARS. They are horrible. I needed emergency road service (a tow) and this was the company dispatched by my insurance carrier. I explained the situation... lost car keys and needed the car put on a flat bed and tow it to my driveway. I kept calling Nationwide road service and I got the "any time now" line. .They claim they showed up and could not tow the car because they did not have a key. NO KIDDING !!!!!THAT WAS WHY I NEEDED THE TOW. I have written to Nationwide and advised them to remove them from their list of service providers. They did not have the curiosity to tell me they could not handle this simple job. IDIOTS... how do they stay in business??? . Oh did I mention their published number goes right to voice mail which of course... has a full mailbox.After THREE HOURS I called another tow company and had my car (which was about 22 minutes from my home) in my driveway within an hour. I contacted Progressive Roadside Assistance when I had a flat tire. They sent a company called Rite Hook from Cherry Hill, NJ. I handed the tow truck driver my anti-theft lug nut key and requested he place the old tire in the passenger seat of the car when finished. He had significant issue from arriving at the site without a working jack [needing to use the manual jack that came with my spare] to not being able to remove the wheel [after the lug nuts had all been removed]. It was taking a long time and I went inside my house [the flat occurred less than a mile from my home and I had driven home on the flat]. The tow driver called me when he was finished and I came outside. I asked if I needed to sign anything and he said no & walked away. A few days later the local tire store was trying to put the new tire on my car and discovered the Rite Hook tow driver never put the lug nut key back in the glove box. Due to the design of my wheels, no one, including the car dealer [Dodge] will attempt to remove the locked bolts. They told me the bolts are too big for universal lock remover[s], the way they're inset into the wheel make them impossible to saw off [except for the spare] and there's less than a few MM between the bolt and the wheel - which doesn't allow enough space for anyone to accept the liability of damaging the wheels trying to remove the bolts. The local Dodge dealer [Performance Dodge in Woodbury] told me if Rite Hook doesn't return the lock key - I can never ever change the [remaining 3] tires on my car ever again. The care is basically worthless without the lock key. Rite Hook told the Roadside Assistance that they "either handed it to me or put it back in the glove box". In other words - they can't be certain WHAT they did with it and cited their policies for Progressive instead of just admitting they'd taken it by accident and returning it. [I wouldn't have care or bothered writing a report here - or with the BB]. Someone was able to remove the spare & replace the tire I'd originally gotten flat because the spare didn't have the same wheel. I'm afraid to drive the car as I've been told a subsequent flat will not be able to have the spare put on [on 3 of the 4 tires]. I now need to go through the hassle of finding / hiring an attorney to file a law suit against these a$$holes & the roadside assistance company for the maximum amount of damage possible when having the lock bolts removed [as no repair shop will attempt to take them off without assurance they won't be held liable for whatever gets damaged in the process] which I will be adding on my court costs & attorney fees - because of a $10 bolt lock key these guys couldn't admit they took by accident and just returned. At this point, I wouldn't care if it 'mysteriously showed up on my front porch. From the sound of the other reviews, they might as well have left it on the side of some street with the top of another reviewer's jeep. If your roadside assistance says 'Rite Hook' is handling your service call - ask them to cancel it and send someone else. These people couldn't even get the wheel off the car AFTER THE BOLTS had been removed. It took the guy over an hour to change a tire in front of my house. His own equipment wasn't even working when he arrived at the site. Most inconsiderate, lazy, unknowledgeable, amateur hack job unprofessional towing company I have ever had the displeasure of having to deal with. They think they have washed their hands of the situation as if my driving around with no ability to ever remove 3 of the 4 tires on my car is a perfectly acceptable thing. As if I am not filing a suit, filing complaints with the BBB, FTC and every news agency in the tri-state area. This is NOT OK. You can not do this to people. If anyone from Rite Hook is reading this . . . I WANT MY LOCK KEY BACK !!! read more

I had a horrible experience with a driver today. We were driving toward each other on a narrow street. I pulled over so he could pass me, but he stopped where he was, which was in the middle of the street with cars on both sides of his truck, and proceeded to begin jumping a car and beginning the process of moving it onto his flatbed. Had he already been in the process of attaching the car to his truck bed when I approached, I would have understood, but he saw me while he was still in the driver's seat and opted to begin the jumping and towing process knowing that I was blocked. He blocked the road for about 10 minutes, did not approach me to explain, or apologize, ignored me when I got out of my car to ask how long he would be, and made a rude gesture when he moved the truck and I was finally able to move my car past him. I understand that we all have jobs to do, but we still need to recognize that our actions affect others and treat others with at least professionalism, if not kindness. read more

My car broke down yesterday and I called my insurance company to get me a tow, it was assigned to rite hook towing. They came within an hour which was fine and when they got to me it turned out that my insurance company communicated the wrong address to tow the car to. They told me I had to fix it or they wouldn't tow it. I told them I would call State Farm right away and they refused to wait and said that they have to quickly go fix a tire 1 mike away and would be back by the time I got the address change taken care of (about 20 minutes). I literally was on the phone with my insurance company for less than 5 minutes to fix the problem and a half hour passes and still they haven't come back. I tried calling the original guy that called me and his phone was out of service. I called my insurance company back to see what was going on and they called rite hook to see how much longer it was going to be. Rite hook told my insurance company that they were not coming back even though they said they would. My car was then assigned to big pop towing company which took another hour but at least when they came to tow my car they had good customer service. Avoid this company at all costs they are such liars!! They could have waited the 5 minutes for me to call my insurance company rather than leaving me stranded. read more

The absolute worst service I've ever experienced. After waiting almost an hour and a half, I was called by their tow operator to say they were close by. When I told them to take their time as I was not with the vehicle, they asked if there was physical damage and I replied no. They said they'd have to call dispatch they probably wouldn't be able to tow vehicle and abruptly hung up. A few minutes later, they called back to say they could not tow my car as I was not with the vehicle. I informed them that I live in Philadelphia over 45 min away and there was no way I could drive to the car in a timely manner. I questioned why they couldn't tow my car anymore as roadside assistance should have told them I was not with the car as I indicated on the request to which I was told "I'm only the driver". I attempted to call their main office number over 5 times with no answer. I called the operator back to ask for a better number. I was told that was the only number and when I asked why no one would be picking up since he JUST spoke to them he replied agitated "I don't know I'm only the driver". I continued to call the "office" number and at this point my calls were being declined after 1 or 2 rings and going to voicemail - a FULL voicemail. I don't know who runs a company this way but they should be ashamed of themselves. I would not recommend this company to anyone!!!!! Absolute disgrace and poorly handled situation. read more

Wish I could give this company zero stars. My elderly father got a flat tire on a Saturday night and called Liberty Mutual for a tow. Apparently they sent this company out to tow his car to the car dealership on route 70. Since he's never used this service before, he called the insurance company to find out how it worked/cost while in the tow truck. Once they got to the dealership, he was told the credit card machine wasn't operational and he had to get cash. I met him at the dealership and took him to the ATM and he was charged an extra forty dollars for wait time. The driver apparently claimed he had to wait 40 minutes (and charged one dollar per minute) while my father called the insurance company which was untrue as they were already en route when he called. My father requested a receipt and I provided my email address to the driver who was supposed to email me the receipt when he returned to the office and he did not. Hours later, my father called to inquire about the extra charge and the receipt and whoever answered was extremely rude to him and gave me a number to text to get a receipt. I texted the number with my email address and didn't receive a receipt. We called back and were told we would get one the next day. We never received the receipt on Sunday and on Monday morning i texted again. I received a response saying I would get one by 3pm. Here it is Monday evening and we still have not received a receipt. We've filed a complaint with the insurance company because this business is horrible!! I hope they discontinue a business relationship with them. I will be calling again until I get a detailed receipt for the services provided. These people are predators that are extremely rude and unprofessional. If this company shows up to tow your car you should decline and ask for another business unless you want to be taken advantage of. read more

Very unprofessional thiefs that give our profession a bad name. They towed my jeep when it arrived without the hard top all they wanted was the money for the tow. I asked the driver what happened to the top. His response " i was wondering that too" after asking them to retrace the tow route and find it i was told i needed to pay for the tow or they would keep my jeep In the end i ended up driving back the way the came and found the top smashed on the side of the road.
