I think they spelled their name wrong. It should be Right Hook, as in sucker punch. After a breakdown on the road and a police tow to a safe spot, my Insurance/Roadside company arranged for Rite Hook to tow the car to my preferred mechanic. They showed up, but didn't tow the car, and didn't tell anyone they didn't tow the car. Four hours later I reached out to my Insurance company who indicated the call was in progress. When pressed, they couldn't tell me exactly where the car was, so they said I should call Rite Hook. I did. They informed me that they could not tow the vehicle because they had brought a Flat Bed truck and the car required a truck that could lift the front end off the ground to tow it, a "wheel lift" truck. Reasonable, because the ball joint had failed and the left front wheel wouldn't stay straight for them to pull it onto the flat bed. They indicated I should call my Insurance company to arrange a new tow. So I did, and indicated what Rite Hook had told me, that they needed to dispatch a wheel lift truck. And I quickly got a notification (that I had not gotten the first time) that a dispatch was made, and that they had dispatched ... Rite Hook. Just to make sure all was OK, I called Rite Hook to make sure they were bringing out a wheel lift truck. They said yes. Then, I asked them why they didn't just send a wheel lift truck after the first time they were out. I'll paraphrase their answer, but they said: "I can answer that question for you. I'm not going to tow your vehicle. Call your Insurance company back to arrange a new tow." It took me two days to get this straightened out. Sounds to me like they were trying to double-dip my insurance company, and I told my insurance company that. Total piece of work. My recommendation? DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THESE FOLKS. I made a claim alittle after eleven pm last night only to keep getting eta times later and later. First time I called the guy sound like he was incompetent on the phone and told me to hold on and then hung up on me. The second time I called he sounded like he had shit in his mouth saying they are gonna be there in fifteen minute! Never showed and I finally had to leave my car where it was at three am in the morning. Worst customer service and I made sure I turned it in to the BBB and my insurance company. Do not use this company and if you are insured with geico make sure you tell them you don't want their service because they will leave you stranded. They definitely need more training and phone communication skills. The only reason they get one star is because it won't allow you to make a review otherwise they wouldn't get one, I wouldn't even give a half! read more

I managed to blow out a tire out in Voorhees in the middle of the night and needed to get a tow. This was the company picked by my roadside assistance plan, and I was hoping against hope that it wouldn't be as bad as the reviews suggested. Unfrotunately, the fears were fully justified. No complaints about the start though - the tow driver came within an hour as was communicated, gently hauled the car onto the truck, tied it up and taken off to the 'secure lot' for keeping overnight as my dealer was closed for the night and couldn't accept the car for storage. Before leaving, I was told the car would be delivered as soon as the shop opened in the morning (by 9am). Come 9:30am the next morning, I give a call to ask for an update, and I was told they would not take the car out of the lot without a call from the roadside assistance who got me setup with them in the first place. Fair enough. I call and get a text saying the ETA was 12:45. 1:30 - no updates. I give them a call and was told that the car had only been planned to be sent out of the lot and would be delivered in an hour. 2:45 - Still no updates. This time the awful person on the phone (probably the owner?) tells me he 'doesn't know where the driver is' and when pressed for a rough estimate of how far away he could be - says he has no idea. I was told the driver would call me. The driver didn't call me. 3:45 - By this point, I was worrying. My calls were being sent straight to voicemail which made me furious. At 4:15 I get a text saying it would reach in 40min, so it was almost 5pm by the time the car was delivered. What added insult to this whole experience was the fact that my 'car tracking app' happened to work at 4:10pm and I saw that the car had only just then LEFT THE LOT. Which meant that the owner/person on the phone was downright lying to me all the while and has absolutely no idea what's going on at his shop. Although my car was delivered without any unexpected damage, do yourself a favor and try to avoid this place! read more

I contacted the tow company at 11:50 AM and was told it would take one hour to pick up my car. No one reached out to me and after an hour and a half I called and they kept telling me 20 minutes multiple times. After all that I waited until 3PM when a truck showed up. After all that his tow truck was having mechanical issues and we had to wait until he was able to fix the issue. One of the worst service received. read more

My car broke about half a mile from my home. I used this tow service through my Roadside assistance. I was a little nervous because the reviews weren't that's great, but I wanted to stay optimistic. The said the driver would be there in 90 minutes. I called the number and spoke with the dispatcher who was a little on the rude side and asked them to call me when the driver was there. 90 minutes later I got the call. The driver was so friendly. So my friends and I were stranded off of exit 13 from the NJ Turnpike with car troubles. I called my insurance for road side assistance and they connected me with Rite Hook Towing. It was the worst service I received from a towing company. They took long, way past their estimated time. When then called back after it was another 20 mins past the initial time the gave us and the man who picked up had a serious attitude and asked "why do you keep calling?" It's easy to see that way when you're comfy wherever you're at and your customers are stranded in a state that they're not from. The guy they brought out is incredibly rude. The tow truck first of all took their time. I asked they call when they were 10 min away and I never got a call. I called and they told me he had been there already. He wasn't because I had been waiting in my car. When the tow truck finally arrived the guy asked me which car was mine even though I was already sitting in my car. Then he paused, stared at me and yelled at me "Do you mind getting out and pushing the car!" Since I assume he needed space to get the car onto the hook. After I finished pushing the car with the guy I asked, "Do you need anything else from me?" He walked away from me. I sat in the truck when I got in and sat he yells out, "HEY!! Scam artist! Do not use them. My mother's car was pick up and was suppose to be drop off at the service department at the dealership. Next day I call the dealer no car. They were closed the day of pick up and the drive never bother to call us and took it home he said. This is after calling the main office with no answer and answering machine full the next day and calling the drive multi times. When he called he had the car for 27 hours already. Had to report it stolen to found out the weren't going to deliver it till storage fee was paid! Storage fee? What? CRAZY! DO NOT USED THEM. The only reason they get a star is because I can't give them a falling star. I called for roadside assistance and they sent these guys. The driver tells me I would need to sign a waiver in case the my car gets further damaged on the transport. No problem. The driver gets in his truck presumably to get the waiver. This dude does a U-turn and drives off without a word. I'd rather he'd say he couldn't/wouldn't do it. Instead, like a chump he just leaves. Rite Hook? Please. Unprofessional and lack of resolve. I waited the estimated time and then some for them to show up, and I called them to ask what the hold up was. My call was denied 4 times before they answered and told me it would be another half hour on top of the 2.5 hours i had already waited. No thank you. If your insurance sends them, reject it and have them find a new company to tow your car. I had an issue before with them where the driver was 1 hour late, then proceeded to tell me that I ruined his night and complained that he had to work the whole time he was fixing a simple flat tire. Should be avoided in any kind of emergency, better push your vehicle for miles than deal with this company. The most unprofessional, verbally abusing experience I have ever seen from one company. Tried to extort me making up reasons for it (through AAA South Jersey with who I placed the call, which is also group of incompetent people that should be avoided), by jacking price 100% more than anyone around them. Thinking I don't have any choice (believing incompetent group from AAA South Jersey), I have accepted the extortion. After 1hr of dealing with unprofessional group, they don't set ramp on truck on correct angle, drive my vehicle too fast on the ramp and smash the back bumper breaking the paint. After asking what they are going to do to rectify damage on bumper, they take my car off the truck, and run away. Literally run away. So if you want to be verbally abused, because you are asking for professional service, and have your vehicle damaged, this is perfect company for that. I had to call my extended warranty for roadside assistance because my car was not running right, luckily my car was at home. I was parked in a way he could not back the tow truck up to put it on the flat bed, and the battery was so dead we could not jump it to try and move it. We had to push it out of the spot, and I do not mind helping out people who are helping me. He got it to the shop in a timely manner and put it where the shop owner wanted it. Terrible service. I was contacted by them before arrival and told there was a $50 out-of-pocket charge. My motor club has no such charges. I called BP to verify this and was told, as I expected, nothing should be charged. The representative said to have the driver call if he wanted to charge me. The truck arrived more than a half hour past the 2315-2330 window I was given. The driver again asked for the $50 and when I asked him to speak with the motor club, he got back in his truck and left. The worst ever. When you call someone answers like they are sleeping and they say hello and not very nicely. You have to ask is this Rite Hook and They mumble an answer or two and hang up. Or you can call and get a recording that says the voicemail is full. WHAT??? I thought this was a 24/7 365 service. Then I called the North Jersey office because no one could find my car and they told me basically it wasn't their problem. When I had to call back that mailbox was full!!!! Was on a emergency call when woman flagged me down. Her car was broke down, she was from out of state and it was 11 degrees out. She was waiting for this company to come pick her up (70 minute ETA) and wanted to know if they would pick her up at nearby business so she could stay warm. Her phone was almost dead (6% charge), so I called from my phone. Told the guy who answered I was with this lady and I was on a fire call when she flagged me down and then didn't even let me start to ask her question. He cut me off and said "You f*cking guys try to do to much. Always trying to save the world. She got her estimated wait." and hung up. My daughter's car just stopped in the middle of an intersection while driving home at 11:00pm and luckily an very pleasant police officer helped her move the vehicle to safety. She called her insurance company who dispatched this piece of crap company to her rescue. They gave her a time of arrival and never showed up, never called to say they were stuck somewhere else and never bothered to let her insurance company know either. She tried numerous times to get in touch with the driver they provided and he never answered the phone. She is a fairly new driver to the roads and this is completely unacceptable. I then had a call back AAA and they sent me another towing company with a flatbed I arrived at fire stone. Five minutes to closing and the guy told me that he does not have a technician that would be able to change the tire intern I had to get a Rent-A-Car ($309.82) for a one way drop off and drive home to South Carolina all because rite hook towing is a sham towing company! that doesn't follow direction if you read their reviews you would understand they should go in the bullshit business rather than the towing business but basically the same business. read more

This place is awful. My family ordered a tow truck and needed to get the car to a shop by a certain time to have it repaired on the same day. They promised to be there by a given time. I called 15 minutes after they didn't show up at the agreed time and was told that it was simply an estimate. I then said they need to do better than that since I need to get the car to the shop.
