I am a tea drinker. The one point that confuses me is they have the hot water spouts about 4 inches from the drain. YOU CAN NOT fit an extra large hot cup under them. Am I not allowed to have a big cup of tea? Why do I have to waste a smaller cup to get hot water into a bigger cup? Anyhow... I like the Sheetz... they just need to get their Sheetz together a bit.

This place is a typical gas station convenience store with a serviceable diner (Lander's River…read moreCafe) attached to it. The convenience store fills a need, being open late and selling beer, cigarettes, snacks, ice and such. It's an OK place. The diner is also OK, offering typical diner food at typical diner prices with friendly service. Just fine, but nothing to write home about. One thing that makes Lander's River Cafe better than a typical diner is the view out the window: you can see where Callicoon Creek is about to flow into the Delaware, and from the angle out the back window the two bodies of water appear to be flowing in opposite directions. It's beautiful. Here's where Lander's River Mart excels: in the convenience store part of the establishment they make sandwiches. Not fancy sandwiches, but good subs. Their Italian combo (at about $6) weighs over a pound and a half and easily feeds two hungry people. It might be the best deal in Callicoon; the cold cut to bread ratio is obscene. Three stars on the strength of that sandwich alone!

So my catfish was soggy, the fries and onion rings. But I imagine in the restaurant itself these things are perfect, as the flavor was THERE! Two is that the jerk wing dinner came with 5 wings. I don't know if it's just me because I'm a big back or if others would feel the same, but I want probably 8 wings. We just ordered it to share so it was fine but I would have been sad if it was all I ordered. I loved the Mac and cheese it had a little funk to it, my husband wasn't a fan, but as the fatty I am, and someone who makes a mean Mac and cheese also, I can say it was yummy! Hubby did however adore the red beans and rice. All of the food is just comforting and yummy. Would definitely recommend to others!! & Will order again, maybe next time we go in person!

I definitely do not get to Scranton that often and even less here since I tend to gas up at Sam's Club. On this occasion, I needed a quick splash to get me back home to Harrisburg and grab some beer while I was there. The price was one dollar more than sheetz for a 12 pack of Michelob ultra, so that was pretty good and saved me another stop. This particular part of Scranton appears to be a little on the rundown side and that's pretty accurate for this part of the Hill Section and Mulberry Street. It tends to be busy and has a small parking lot and gas pump area. Decent location and convenience store with gas and beer
