Had multiple bad experiences with this pharmacy. Was overcharged for a prescription by more than double what Walgreens and CVS charged. I spoke to the pharmacy manager, Taymaan. He was rude and started yelling and tried to blame me for not reporting the over charge more quickly. I reported this to Maysoon, the area manager and to Melinda in Rite Aid corporate, but nothing was resolved. I would rather drive 30 miles out of my way to fill a prescription than to return to this awful place. I remember when Rite Aid/Thrifty were well run, fun places to visit. Absolutely the WORST pharmacy I've ever been to. BLATANTLY ignoring the DOCTORS ORDERS!!! Not to mention I get put on hold and hung up on constantly when I try to call. The manager is the worst to deal with. Yet everyone seems to need his approval for things. No one is EVER happy or even crack a smile. Hell they don't even make eye contact. Just moved here from another state and hope this Pharacy doesn't represent the good people of Ojai. Met with a new Dr here last week which was a great experience, had my prescriptions sent to Rite Aid. Pharamsit was rude, and dismissive and offered no solutions just a snip " we don't carry that prescription" no eye contact, and just walked away. this pharmacy has absolutely gone downhill since the last couple years. There are many workers there who just seem to absolutely hate their job. Especially when you're walking around and trying to find some thing and you ask someone what aisle it's on they just look at you like how dare you ask them. Pharmacy on the other hand. I've always been polite to me and I don't see many issues except for the lines gets so outrageous and there only be one person working the front. I really think that with the amount of cash registers they have back there and the downtime they get during the day they could find a way to be more efficient in running the more busier hours whenever I have to go pick up my prescription I know I'll be there at least 45 minutes. read more

All the rest are mom and pops which have lame business hours and are not open Sundays and that is how things are in Ojai and that is why I don't live here. This is a small Rite Aid, but they've usually got what I need, and I find that their prices are lower than other similar stores I go to in Ventura or Oxnard. cashier was so rude. we were standing behind the customer who was checking out for around 5 minutes with no line and then when they finished checking out we stepped forward and the cashier yelled at us for not being in a line that wasn't there, there were no signs and no people there so how are people from out of town supposed to know? the cashier again tried to embarrass us in front of the entire store. and she called us rude. we weren't talking because the person i was with is hard of hearing, so when she accused us of cutting the line another customer came and defended us and the cashier argued with him. it was just really upsetting and we felt humiliated. read more

Just received great service over the phone transferring prescriptions from out-of-state. The pharmacy tech was very friendly and helpful.

Great stop for last minute items. It's like a smaller Target minus the clothing. It has alcohol, ice cream, hardware, a pharmacy etc. Lines are rarely long and service is acceptable. The only downside is everything is considerably over priced. I guess you pay for the convenience. Particularly in Ojai where the only other option is a Vons, you're stuck with paying the higher prices. Parking can be a pain in the tush at this location at times. I came here twice and had to constantly fight to get to open spots first. Service is great and the people that work here are helpful. read more

I was very disappointed with the service here. We came here to buy basic items that were needed. We went to checkout and there was a problem with the credit card machine. The manager was called over to see if she could fix it. She realized quickly that it wasn't going to be a easy fix, she asked the cashier to take us to the other lane. The cashier's response "No, it would take too long to ring them up again". I was blown away by this interaction, one, she didn't do what her boss asked her to do, and second she wasn't concerned about how long we stood there, just that she didn't want to scan less than 10 items again. We quickly made the decision to switch to cash and get out of this place. I don't know what the manager would do if we didn't change our method of payment, but I do hope that she gave her employee a lecture about customer service. read more

This is seriously the worst pharmacy and convenience store. Prescriptions are never ready when they are supposed to be and even if it is ready to be picked up, be prepared to wait a long time in the pick-up line. The pharmacist is rather unfriendly. I recently had some photos printed here, had a confirmation email, and the photos were no where to be found. After the person helping me told me to go home and upload them again, I had to call corporate myself to have the photos printed without going home and repeating the process. Their baloney about not giving narcan (opioid overdose antidote) is absolute hooey. If I was overdosing on their front step, they wouldn't let you purchase narcan unless you're already a narcotic user who gets your prescriptions filled at this location. RIP me. They always have what I'm looking for. Pretty good selection of items. The lines can get long, as it's the only big drug store in town, and they do have their share of register issues, but I've never had a horrible experience here. It pains me to write this because for the past 6 years I have had a fantastic experience with the pharmacy at this Rite Aid. Every employee has been friendly and helpful, always. Unfortunately, there is a new male pharmacist working here now. He "wears" surgical masks that do not fit securely on his nose so the top of it is at his upper lip 99% of the time. The other 1 % of the time he is fiddling with it and pulling it up. This is a disaster because he is the main pharmacist at the biggest pharmacy in Ojai. He comes into contact with more sick people than anyone in town...and we are still in a raging pandemic. There is literally no excuse, and I mean no excuse, for any of us, let alone a PHARMACIST, to have not found masks that fit securely covering our noses and mouths fully two years into this pandemic. Is someone at Rite Aid sees this review and if I notice improved mask wearing by this pharmacist, I will update this review. If not, assume no news is good news. Do better, Rite Aid pharmacist. My girlfriend needed a prescription filled and called early in the morning to have it sent from our university's health center to Rite Aid's pharmacy. She confirmed with them that the prescription had been sent, but Rite Aid didn't say that they received it. One pharmacist immediately got extremely defensive when I decided to probe with a simple "are you sure" question and asked them if they could double-check the spelling of her name and her date of birth--he said, "I'VE BEEN IN THIS BUSINESS FOR 35 YEARS AND I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING AND IT'S -NOT- IN THE SYSTEM!" His tone was really confrontational and it really ticked me off. Our university's health center is really on top of stuff and it makes me think that something went wrong on Rite Aid's end and they refused to admit it. Make-up department out of everything, one cashier for a ridiculously long line, managers who stand around and do nothing etc...Don't they realize how bad it looks to a customer who is waiting in a long line to see a manager just standing there? I've lived in Oak View over three years, and have used this place ever since. Registers can get a bit crowded, but I've never been in line for over 10 minutes. As far as the pharmacy: they are always fast. Again, over three years, and we're a family of four. Lots of meds! You can't ask on the phone anything about Vicodin supply, but that's the law, not them. When you drop off an Rx, if it's for you or a fam member, give them YOUR cell number so they can call YOU when it's been filled while you're at Starbucks next door. They called my wife within ten minutes--that was fast! But I came back 15 min later, expecting a page indicating it was filled. Already done, they didn't call out loud or my phone--they are maybe TOO efficient. I like this pharmacy a lot. Friendly, fast, and articulate. My daughter wishes their freezer stocked Medieval Madness ice cream tho! read more

This Rite Aid is adequate overall. I would have given it a better rating if it weren't for the workers. The customer service is terrible and unprofessional. As I was walking in, I smiled at the worker closest to the door, who returned my smile with a blank stare, watching my every move as I entered the store. I had let that awkward situation leave my mind as I shopped, until I got to the checkout line. Another worker, ringing up my items, didn't say a single word to me except "Your total is..." Wtf???? No "Hi, how's your day going?" Or even "Thank you, have a nice day" after she handed me the receipt? So rude. And not to mention, during this bland interaction with the checkout worker, the same worker who glared at me as I walked in was standing diagonally behind the checker, continuing her glare at me and my purchase items. The service at this Rite Aid is some of the worst I have seen and I've been in many. I saw the manager (a young man) get into an agreement about the price of a small item and finally tell the senior citizen to not come into the store ever again. The worst experience I've ever had as a customer anywhere. I went in tonight with my boyfriend who hurt his foot and is on crutches. I wanted chocolate and he wanted a foot scraper for the calluses on his hurt foot. The one he liked only had the display one. So we went to the front for help to find one to buy. I asked the employee behind the counter with grey hair named Cindy for help. Later found out she's the supervisor. She didn't understand. So instead of coming over to help or asking me to describe what I needed, she yelled at me and my boyfriend on crutches in the store full of people "what do you want?! Well I don't even know what you're talking about!" And among some of her rudeness towards us she then directed it to the young coworker of hers shouting "just go help them find it!" We've never been so embarrassed or insulted in public. But the worst offense was there are endless signs (including 3 in front of the door) saying to wear a mask at all times while inside. Cindy throughout the whole 20 minutes we were there never wore her mask. It lay on her neck under her chin as she rang up customers and yelled at some. The other girl couldn't figure out how to get the foot scraper for us. We both agreed we didn't want to spend our money there. So we left and spent our money elsewhere and are not coming back. Will follow up with corporate possibly about this employee of things aren't changed. Worst pharmacy ever. Prescriptions are NEVER on time. Called in a refill for ONE prescription at 8 am, they said it would be ready by noon, having had previous prescriptions not ready several times prior I waited and went to pick it up at 5pm. Come to find out it wasn't even started. Had to wait over 20 minute for it to be ready after standing in the pickup line for 15 minutes. Granted I'm very pregnant so standing around for one medication that was suppose to ready 5 hours earlier is not fun. Do yourself a favor and go to ANY other pharmacy. read more
