Then, those that did work were really slow and made odd noises. Maybe the sounds of an imminent gasoline pump death. I went inside to maybe buy a soda but the clerk was in an argument with a customer. I don't know what it was about, who was right or who was wrong. I just knew I was not going to stick around for it.
