If you have seen one Sheetz you have seen them all. Still This Sheetz is literally in the middle of Emporium and is a good place to stop by if you happen to be just walking around town. The staff is usually very friendly. Also, as with most Sheetz stores in the area, they have a Fee free ATM.

This Sheetz can be described using the word ODD…read more I came to this Sheetz yesterday, and there was a delivery truck in the middle of the lot unloading various food products. No back door, no delivery receiving. Odd. The way the store is laid out, too, is odd. Those waiting in line, submitting MTOs, perusing the cookie cabinet, and those waiting in anticipation of their MTOs all share about 40 square feet of floor space and trip on each other. It wasn't immediately apparent what each carousel was for. Odd. I had the appetizer sampler; a bunch of popcorn chicken, three mozzarella cheese sticks, and three macaroni and cheese wedges for $5.30. A deal, but would have liked 1-2 more macaroni and cheese wedges. Everything was piping hot and came out in about seven minutes. Odd isn't a bad thing, in this Sheetz's case, maybe 'dated' or 'small' would be better adjectives.

We're to blame for not starting off with a full tank, but we're not perfect. This gas station and mini mart rescued us on what was a really hot/humid summer day. As another yelper has written, there are few options available in this neck of the Allegheny's thick woods. So, thank you, Nittany MiniMart. After fueling up, we walked inside to what's a well-stocked convenience store that's fairly large, with the "Nittany Cafe" staring us in the face and good smells coming from its kitchen. Sometimes after a stressful experience, a bit of food and drink is what's needed to recover. Had a tasty turkey sammie combo, expertly made and toasted, and reasonably priced. The menu is pretty extensive, actually. There's 2 seating options: an inside dining area with good AC or outside, with picnic tables and umbrellas. Bought more provisions before departing (with a full tank this time). And a new lease on the day. I won't forget, and am grateful for, this place!

There are many convenience stores in this wonderful nations of ours. Sheetz sets itself apart by a…read morebusiness model of "do what the other stores do, but do it better." Specifically, these stores usually offer fuel, tobacco products, cold-water beverages, and snacks. They also offer meal options, "made-to-order" as they advertise it. Most locations also offer alcoholic beverages, although inside Pennsylvania, those locations are not selling it as of yet. As for hot food, all you do is approach one of their touch screen terminals, tap what you want to order from the interactive menu, print a sales slip, and take it to the register. Then, you pick up your food, and that's as simple as it gets. No wait staff, no kids' playground area, just simple, good, quickly made food. They also offer decent varieties of coffee, although I'm not a big fan of fancy flavors or brews. I like mine plain, black, and bitter. Pros: convenience store with a lot of extras to set it uniquely apart from the rest Cons: not much by way of "dining-in" options in most locations. Also, it could do with a little aesthetic updates. The design is a little dated and traffic flow from the order terminal to checkout and back is a little cumbersome at times.

I wanted something quick…read morewithout having to backtrack to where I was and put Sheetz into my GPS and this was the nearest to me. And I do have to say it wasn't as near as you would think. Getting here was half the battle. I have never been to this area in my life and see why now. It is a bit of a cluster to get here and navigating the lot can be a bit confusing. I'm assuming that Sheetz is at the crossroads in the downtown region of this town. Which is good, that means you will have to pass by here in your travel. Going inside I was was in need of something to drink and use the facilities. I also thought why not get a small snack while inside. It was busy and customers were everywhere. I was able to accomplish all I came here for, except I didn't master one thing, as I rarely use that machine. See, I had bought a lottery ticket, which I don't do often, and it was a winner. According to the kiosk. I was like, great, I'll take it to the register and get my money. Well, I didn't know you had to scan the ticket, get a voucher, and then head to the register. When I was at the register the lady asked me if I knew how to use it, and I was honest and said no. She went out of her way to walk me back to the kiosk and show me how to do it. I thank her for that. She then walked me back to the register and did the transaction for the winning ticket. After that transaction she rang me up for my other items and I was on my way out the door to try and figure out which street I needed to then go down.

Yikes and away, at the time it was $2.44 which is complete crap compared to what I pay at home. PA's gas prices blow thanks to the prior loser governor who gave us the highest gas tax in the land but even with that I figured the only way I would pay more would be to go to LA or the Yukon Territory. Ooops, I was wrong by over a dime a gallon. Did I trip over any random tire shards, radiator parts or left behind wing nuts? No, the fueling area was pothole and animal carcass free. Easy on/off to the highway/road of my choosing? Check, this place is in town right on Washington Street so no problems there but a word to the wise would be if you're running low stop here because this area of NY in general is boonies central and the next station might be...? It was introduced to me as a great place to stop for all things tobacco and gas, with a nice sideline in convenience store items. These days I tend to go to Ron's instead, but every so often we still stop in here. It's a pleasant establishment with friendly staff and an inviting atmosphere. The parking lot is always kept immaculate and I've never seen the inside dirty or unkempt. Their bathrooms are comfortable, clean, and well-lit, and there's an ATM on site. They have a small deli that provides the pizza they keep in their hotbox. My experience is that their food is utterly unremarkable, but don't mistake that for it being bad. If you expect convenience store level food then you won't be disappointed. Overall it's a convenient place to get food and drink and gas up your car.
