I needed some charcoal for my glamping experience over at Parker Dam State Park. I struck out up the road at the Minit Mart but they told me that this DG should have what I was looking for. I walked in and sho'nuff there is a Kingsford display in the outside foyer before you even get fully into the store. I picked up my two bags and walked inside. No one was at the register but they have this lovely plastic pig on the counter which has a sign on it that says something to the effect of "Squeeze me for service." Two oinks later and I was in business. The associate quickly rang me up and I was on my way. I have no idea what else is in the store as I have never been in a Dollar General in my life and I never got past the register in this one. They had what I needed, the store looked new and the service was fast. Perfect. (Open daily 8am-10pm)

This store is perfect for this small town. Because of it's location many vacation travelers are…read morevisitors. They recently re-vamped the check out area and it is much more efficient. No other store with this variety is nearby. I know when I'm in the area I make at least one stop. Don't forget to hold onto your receipt for weekday purchases. A $5.00 off coupon toward a $25.00 purchase for the following Saturday is attached on the bottom. Couple negatives- sometimes when you get up to the check out the clerk will say "I'll be right back" and then she will disappear for a while so you have to wait to pay. This location also asks to see your drivers license if you purchase throat lozenges. But it's OK to make U-turns in the middle of the road...I see the locals do it all the time. Also, lately I noticed they escort you on your way out of town (to make sure you're OK) by following behind your vehicle for a little while going very slow. They usually have their high beams on, even in the daytime. That's how they let you know it's them. So sweet!!
