I changed pharmacies to Rite-Aid in Desert Hot Springs because my old pharmacy was unable to refill my prescriptions due to supply issues. I am so happy with both the ability for this pharmacy to refill my prescriptions without any problems, and the staff in this pharmacy is outstanding. My interactions with both Terry and Yegor (as weel as the rest of the team) have been excellent, as their willingness to spend the time assisting me both on the phone and in the store has absolutely exceeded my expectations and surpassed the service, kindness and empathy I have received at other pharmacies. The staff took the time to talk to me about immunizations that are available to me, and I will definitely be getting the immunizations available to me on my next visit. It is very refreshing to find a pharmacy that takes the time to talk to you, goes out of their way to be helpful and treats you with kindness and respect. Keep up the great work!! read more

I would avoid the pharmacy at all cost! As someone who works in the healthcare profession, there really is no reason for the bad attitude, in accurate and careless service. This is the second time that the pharmacy has botched a simple prescription. It wouldn't be so bad if they would take any accountability for their actions. Instead they have a "we don't give a crap" attitude And their advice was to go to another pharmacy!!! Usually come here for toiletries and these coconut cashews in a purple package! It's called Dreamhouse Toasted Coconut Cashews, and I can't stand coconut and those nuts are good! Your normal Rite Aid, very big inside and always clean. Sometimes the customers are sketchy but I enjoy their product availability and customer service! Went to this rite aid tonight to pick up my 5 year olds antibiotics and nausea medication , and i asked the lady ( Denise ) if she can grab children's Tylenol ( i was in the drive thru because my daughter has strep throat and i didn't want to take her in a store ) and she says " no, you will have to order it through the app or come in ." I responded " it doesn't say that here on this window , it states to ask for what i need " and her response was " well it depends on what we have going on back here " I'm guessing she meaning she's too busy to get it . Well i didn't say anything until she finally came back with my daughters medication and i stated to her that i will be contacting management because i wouldn't expect you guys would want someone in your store with strep throat and her response was " okay but there is a car behind you, and u have a good night " she was so so rude .. especially with me asking for CHILDREN'S Tylenol i would think they would have SOME sympathy . This review will not be where i stop , i do intend on going higher until someone hears me out . This place sucks! They told me my prescription plan card was expired and I told them it was not and to please run it again and she said I can't run an expired card ..... I was shocked and looked at my card it's not expired ... she said code was expired whatever that means ... somehow everyone else I hand my card to at other places seems to figure it out Also every car in the drive through takes 10 minutes to get through line and like 2/3 cars in front of me were screaming cause their prescription got messed up. I want to thank the staff and the woman pharmacist for their help Friday. We were in crisis over our doctor and insurance company getting my husband's new prescription for insulin. They were very helpful and kind. After 2 hours of of trying to get prescription I decided to pay cash instead of taking my husband to the hospital again. His blood sugar was 300. The store is fine but the Pharmacy sucks. They are too lazy to call another pharmacy to have a prescription transferred. Two times I've done an online transfer and when I go to pick it up I'm told they can't call Walgreens bcuz they aren't open everyday and their hours are always different. That's a bunch of B. Me and my wife both went to urgent care today she had her prescriptions sent to riteaid on sunrise my single prescription was sent to dhs. She had her multiple within 45 mins and it's been 4.5 hours and they said it's almost ready. I called a 1.5 hours ago and they said in an hour it's still not ready. I sat here watching the disfunction and inefficiency that this place runs. The gentleman that's the pharmacist is very rude to customers who were upset ahead of me. read more

Rite Aid used to have a decent pharmacy, 6 months ago, their performance took a sharp hit, long wait times & incompetent employees (my opinion), so I transferred my $10k in annual drugs to another pharmacy. Today I went there for the 4th covid shot (2nd booster) after having registered on line and answering questions about how many shots, etc. & immune system status, for an appointment. The pharmacist refused saying it was not approved. WTF, then why did their web site approve my appointment? The bottom line is this, Rite Aid here in DHS sucks, no other way to describe it, today there where two of us in the prescription line, inside one was handling the cars and the other at the front cash register was moping around as the pharmacist helped a customer, 1 year ago that cashier would have had the 2nd register opened and started on helping the next customer. Plan on waiting for at least 30 minutes to pick up medicine; also if your doctor calls in or sends via fax or computer call them to make sure they are in receipt of it and don't wait until 4:00 pm when your doctors office close . read more

I let some time pass before I called to check on the status because I'm am pretty damn sick. No answer. Called about 10 times and not 1 answer. Waited another couple hours and called again. Finally got someone to answer and he told me that my prescription would be in between 4-5pm. Waited until 4:30 and called, no answer again. Called another handful of times and no answer. My wife finally went down to check just to have the woman at the front counter give her a huge attitude. My wife asked if it can be transferred and she said yes it can and Vons can call right now we will pick up (yeah fucking right). All this bullshit just to check on a damn status of medication that is NEEDED. You guys should be ashamed to call yourself a pharmacy and have some compassion for people that are not feeling well. Will be transferring my patient's prescriptions to another pharmacy after today. This is not the first time, waiting at the drive through for over 10 minutes and no one comes to the window. You can see a couple of pharmacy clerks walking behind the counter, but NO ONE comes up to the window! They were not assisting anyone that was indoors in line either. While I appreciate the response from the business owner, I will not be contacting Customer Care because, after reading the other reviews, I see there is no point. Rite Aid hasn't resolved the long-standing problems at this store yet, why would they do so now? There was no reason for the pharmacist to be so incredibly rude to us. The only thing I can figure is that maybe he treated us poorly because we were there for Covid testing. But, as a "professional," he should understand that not everyone who gets tested does so because they're sick--for instance, we wanted to make sure we weren't carrying it before we visited an elderly family member. Even if we had been sick, that is no way to treat your customers. But our one experience is just one of many examples of bad customer service here. What about all the complaints about the pharmacy consistently messing up people's prescriptions, and rude staff ignoring customers or laughing at their problems? I took my son to urgent care this morning and the doctor prescribed him an antibiotic for BRONCHITIS I called 30 min after just to confirm the prescription was received this was about 9AM the girl who answered was very helpful and told me that the prescription would be ready by 11 AM I told her that was fine I should be barely getting into town by then. I pull up to the drive thru at 11:08AM and Janet I'm assuming pharmacy cashier told me it was not ready she gave me 2 options 1. wait for 20 minutes INSIDE their lobby or 2.come back after 2pm I told her I wanted to wait but could not come inside because my SICK 2 year old was sleeping in the back seat she told me to come back after 2 I told her I wouldn't be able to come back at that time and her response was to come inside then. I again tried to explain to her that my son is contagious and sleeping but she did not care. I WENT THRU THE DRIVE DRU FOR A REASON NOT BECAUSE IM LAZY IS THIS NOT WHAT THE DRIVE THRU IS FOR? Anyway of course I go inside with my sick child and wait in line to let her know I'm in the lobby so that they can work on the prescription. She said ok. I browse the store for the needed OTC products like Tylenol and electrolytes etc and I made sure to take my time to kill some time.. after I check out I go back to the pharmacy and I'm waiting to see some urgency from anyone but most of the techs or cashiers are just chitchatting with the delivery guy and some are ringing each other out for water bottles .. like I said absolutely NO urgency from anyone. After knowing for a fact that I waited for 30 minutes now I ask the same girl from the drive thru if the medication is ready she asked me what the name was again and said it's not even close to being ready... "they haven't even started working on it" At this point I snap and ask how much longer, what do mean they haven't started? she responded with "I don't know I gave you the option of waiting in the lobby for 20 min or coming back in 2 hours". OK and I chose to wait for 20 min and she knew that 30 MINUTES AGO? She said she wasn't responsible for that and that's not on her to do that part of the prescription She gave me no apology or resolution..nothing I asked to speak with a manager or who ever works on prescriptions that CAN get it done and one of her coworkers stepped in and confirmed she'll get it done in 2-3min. They took another a few minutes, and no consultation was provided. I tried to talk to her because I wanted her to know that my reaction would have been a lot better if she just apologized and said they were busy vs I had the option to come back. I worked behind the counter I know how busy pharmacy's can get and how stressful it is to work back there so I have a-lot of patience and understanding when it comes to this. She started speaking over me and then just walked away as I was speaking because her coworker told her to.. again no resolution. I complained to the manager but I'm sure it won't make a difference. Worst experience as a customer that I have ever had. DO BETTER. read more

Great Rite Aid everybody was super helpful. Without asking anybody for help an employee up to me and asked if I need help and I said thank you I'm looking for this medication and he was able to locate everything I was looking for. One area of improvement is I wish checkout was quicker. There's usually a very long line for the pharmacy and the is a very long line for the regular registers. Very great customer service here. They are fast at checkout. Only issue is the pharmacy. My doctor does not allow me to take the generic version of a medication, and they have given me the generic and I have to go back and get that medication reordered Which takes a couple days. So I'm left with no medication but I understand accidents happen. I still come here no matter what read more

He walked away from me and told me to get out of line because I was asking questions and he had a line . He is only worried about getting the line down and leaving for the day . I switched from Walgreens to Rite-Aid about 6 months ago. at first they seemed better but now I am completely disappointed. I can't understand why every single time I drop a prescription off they will tell me it will be done by a certain time and it never is! So I started waiting 30 extra minutes every time and it still isn't ready. They always tell me "we fell behind, it will be 15 minutes". While I don't really mind waiting 15 minutes, I drop it off in advance so I don't have to wait inside and spread my germs. Right now my whole household has strep and I get to sit in the same room as other people! Also, their attitudes suck and it always seems like they are standing around talking about stuff unrelated to their JOB. I will be changing pharmacies... again. read more

I have shopped here a couple of times the store is poorly staffed and lack by customer service skills. On my visit today, one guy was trying to run 2 registers and was not doing a good job on either. He couldn't figure out how to properly handle tap to pay and instead chose to blame me and my phone. My partner and I switched from Walgreen's Drugs to Rite-Aid. We are both on Medicare and we found out that Walgreen's retail prices for drugs were higher than Rite-Aid, which means we would reach the "donut hole" sooner. The customer service here is about on par with the rest of Desert Hot Springs. Which means "You expected better??" I had always chosen Walgreen's in the past because of their superior customer service, but when I moved to DHS, 5 years ago, that all changed. Same crappy service you get from almost every other business in this town. This store is always very well stocked out on the floor but you almost always have to wait for prescriptions to be filled. Sometimes they run out of drugs and you have to come back later. They get a lot of business, so they should have dedicated more room for storage, rather than so many shelf products. We've never been there, when there were more than 10 to 15 people in the entire place. Don't know how they can afford to have such a big store. read more

I have been using this pharmacy for more than two years. I dropped off the same three prescriptions every month. In that time they only had my prescriptions in stock twice. The wait time to get my prescriptions was usually 4 to 5 days. And even then the prescriptions are never available when promised. Now they tell me that they can't get some of my prescriptions from their supplier at all. The thing that really crisps me is how impolite they can be. Their service in general is poor. I don't know why I have continued to use this pharmacy as long as I have. The fact that their conversation between each other is more important than my business really Irritates me. Enough is enough I will take my business elsewhere even if I need to drive to another city. I give them two stars because there are some really nice people at this location. read more

Excellent service had people help me the entire time and they knew where stuff was. I think I even had a regional supervisor or district supervisor help me out. The reason for 3 stars is the club card nonsense. That is a thing of the past and needs to go away. You should have it for convenience for prescriptions but not for discounts on products. Even though I had excellent service I will now go to staters right next door that has everything I need and doesn't require a club card to get the discount. My total bill was 46.94 when it should have been 31 and change. Charging me almost 50% more than what it should have been because I don't want your club card is ridiculous. read more

I read the reviews of this Rite Aid...frankly I don't understand. I guess it is a matter of getting what you give. I was there right when the doors opened and went straight back to the pharmacy. The assistant took my information and told me it would be later today. I told her I was leaving town, hence the reason for having the Rx transferred here. The pharmacist, from simply overhearing this exchange, told me to hold on. He immediately called the pharmacy from which I was having the Rx transferred and had me the door out within 30 minutes. I've been using this store for about six months relatively problem free. Today I went up to the drive-through window to drop off my prescription which are normally don't do I normally walk up, the girl that came up was quite pleasant asked me to put my prescription in a container it was windy and then she asked me if I've been there before I said he has she walked away for about five minutes maybe even 10 definitely five. When she came back she asked me again if I'd been there I said yes and then she asked me for my IEHP card I gave it to her and she walked away she came back in a minute or two and started telling me that she wasn't able to fill my IV prescription and I started getting a little upset and immediately I think it was the manager step down and said that they could only give me seven days worth of my medication because IEHP won't pay for a whole month and she's going to have to call my doctor to get approval and contact IEHP. Once again she offered me a seven day supply but I would have to give up the other three weeks of my medication. I told her that was an option I need my pain pills on a daily basis and that I want there for 30 days supply once again she indicated to me that it be 1 or 2 days to get approval. She asked for my phone number so she could call me and let me know what was happening I never received any call around 345 I called IEHP I explain the situation and she looked into things when she came back to the phone she said that my prescription was ready I had never received a call from the pharmacy or my doctor letting me know the situation is resolved. The pharmacist could've explained what was happening better instead of just trying to push a seven day supply on me and help me give up my other three weeks just because I might be in pain at that moment. I plan on finding out the name of the lady I believe she was the manager she needs to have better communication other than that just trying to get people to except what they can take at that time. read more

The pharmacy staff was very pleasant and nice the bathroom is another story most disgusting thing I have ever been in, poop all over the walls, toilet seat and floor, pee everywhere, used TP all over, been there for months when I went out to give the key back because I could not use it, I asked the guy what century was the bathroom last cleaned he said 1967...No janitor there the employees are supposed to do it but don't he called it there ghetto bathroom and they want there customers to use this germ, crab ridden bathroom they should be ashamed... read more

The only thing stopping me from dropping this pharmacy is the knowledge that the other pharmacies are staffed by similar lazy gomless idiots. It took me two years to reach the point where they stopped calling me for each and every drug (and I take a lot) when they are due and when they are available. If you have the same problem tell them to remove your phone # from both the corporate and profile entries or else they will keep calling you. Today I went in to pick up a prescription and was told it was arriving later today and to come back after 4pm only to find out that they can't obtain that drug.
