We love Rita's! Making the appointment is so easy with convenient drop off times between 8:30-9:30am. They call to let you know when your dog is ready and you pay at pick up. They do so well with our dog, we continue to bring him to Rita's even though we moved an hour away. The groomers there take their time and provide a quality cut and clean and I can tell my dog loves them. He never wants to come home with me at pick up time! Everyone is very friendly and kind and it's a pleasure to have my dog groomed there. read more

just now NEW Do not take your large breed long hair dogs here. They charge $200 to shave dogs without permission from the owners in the middle of winter. I included pics of my dog before and after. You will drop off your beautiful fur baby at 10am and they'll have you wait til 5pm to give you back a skiddish, traumatized, shaved and razor burned dog and expect $200. We brought my Black Russian Terrier to this groomer to have an inch of hair cut down and returned to find my dog fully shaved with shave burn bumps on the side of his face and in his genital area. For some unexplained reason they also shaved one side of his neck and not the other. The groomers said they'd had the manager look at the dog and determined he was matted allover but when we asked to speak to the manager who was apparently present to evaluate my dog we were then informed she was out of town.... So how did she evaluate the dogs condition earlier if she's out of town? It's apparent that the groomers present made a rushed decision due to a busy day and a lack of care. We had called about three hours after dropping him off(around 1pm) to check on his progress and they advised they were swamped with dogs for the holidays so he couldn't be ready until 5pm so my guess is due to the busy day they decided they didn't have time to properly do their job so they just shaved whatever dogs they felt like shaving. When we saw how they mutilated our dog and tried to talk about what happened to result in this they dismissed our concerns entirely, told us how they should have charged us even more and mockingly wished us a merry Christmas. They boast about their 20 years of knowledge but clearly these old dogs need to learn some new tricks because they shaved a breed that is never supposed to be shaved completely down as it can cause skin irritation in this breed and their double coat may not ever grow back properly. My poor dog has been scratching non stop for days since we picked him up from this chop shop. It's even kept him from sleeping at night and he's more skiddish like he was treated harshly at this groomer. That is the worst part about this whole experience, thinking about how poorly they treated our sweet 1 year old dog. For the record they said he was matted allover but he was not we brush him out fully every two days. Sometimes he gets matted around the collar area but we always get it out and he goes to a groomer closer to where we live every two weeks for a wash, blow dry and nail file. Let the record show we have taken our dog here once before and they did a good job with the cut so that's why we took the hour plus drive this time when he needed another cut. We were recommended the groomer from someone we know who was lucky enough to have had better experiences so we trusted them. We also saw a number of dogs there being fully shaved down to the point that their skin was visible so I really urge you to take your dog anywhere except the Rita's Grotesque and Greedy Grooming. read more

After seeing a post on Facebook of how the staff treated a pup and hurt the pup. This place will never be on the list of me taking my dogs. Blood in the dogs eyes and only cut 3 of 4 paws and can't even cut a straight line on hair . I never been here personally but can tell you I won't ever go and will always tell friends and family about this place.. read more

DO NOT take your dog to this groomer. Instead of doing the job I paid them for, they shaved my dogs hair down so low they gave him clipper burn in several places. They are trained to prevent this from happening. I will NEVER bring my dog back here. read more

I couldn't be happier with Rita's. I have a 17-1/2 yr old bichon who was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. He's also deaf and had bad cataracts. All of the groomers in the area are a morning drop off/evening pick up, just like Rita's. Patches is too old to do that, and would get too stressed. I spoke with them over the phone and they said sure they could do him, bring him in at 11 am and they would run him right through the process. He was a bit squirmy but they did a wonderful job and he looks beautiful. Thank you SO much Rita's! read more

We brought our anxious, 90 pound pittie here for a much needed bath and we were so pleased with the result. He came out looking shiny, feeling soft and smelling good. When we dropped him off the staff was very friendly and my pup seemed happy at pick up. We plan to continue bringing our dog here. read more

Great groomer! You can tell they really love animals not just the money. Our lab loves going to her "spa" morning there!

This place started out okay. We tried them because our prior groomer (who was GREAT) moved to North Beach and it was a drive to get them to the earlier groomer - but what a mistake. We used her a time or two, and the last few times it is obvious that they are all about just shoving as many dogs through a conveyor line process as possible -- not about care and proper grooming of your dog. Today our dogs sat in a crate/room with tons of other dogs for 4 HOURS without being touched...and that was with an appointment time. And when you call to say "what is taking so long" -- they are short with you on the phone because they are more concerned about shoving dogs along this process then doing a good job. The last dog I took out got just a bath and they missed FLEAS on him and his anal glands and still charged $55 for the groom. If you love your dog and don't want him traumatized by an all day fiasco at this place -- find another groomer. Her prices change every time you are in there and the grooming is second rate at best. read more
