Also, even though I said she could take up to 2 weeks to alter the dress if needed she was done in less than a week! The dress had two layers that needed hem, so it probably took a bit more work (not sure much about dress altering honestly though) and it was lovely, exactly what I wanted! I'll be sure to come back to her for my future alteration needs!

I left my wedding dress with Teresa two weeks ago for minor alterations (i.e. shortening the inner liner and adding a bustle). I went in today for my pick-up appointment. Everything looked good, until I looked at the back of my dress. There were three noticeable holes. When I inquired, Teresa immediately became hostile and said hurtful things. The highlights include "It's your fault for buying a cheap sample dress", "Your dress is too tight and you made these holes when you put it on" and "The ring on your hand made these holes when you put the dress on". First of all, one should not make a bride feel bad about wearing a "cheap" or "sample" dress. Not everyone can afford a $10,000 dress on Say Yes to the Dress. We have a budget. Second, I bought a brand new designer dress that was custom ordered with a 8-month-long wait. It was not a cheap sample dress, and I made this clear to her at our first appointment. I am very confident that the holes were created while my dress was at Teresa's shop. She did not apologize once, and I am frustrated by her dishonesty. I took my wedding dress to a different tailor. This tailor immediately confirmed that these holes are "burn marks" from a non-industrial-grade iron that should not be used on delicate materials like a wedding dress. My wedding is two weeks away, and I will be spending a lot of time and money trying to fix a perfect dress that Teresa destroyed. Bride to bride, please do not take your wedding dress to Teresa. I would not hope for this misery and drama that I experienced today on anyone else.

I am very disappointed with my experience and will not return…read more I brought my wedding dress in on May 29 for alterations. It needed to be taken in at the chest, waist, and hips, hemmed to the correct length, and bustled. I came fully prepared with my shoes, shapewear, accessories, and even my veil so the alterations could be done properly. I was told my dress would be ready July 31. On July 30, I called and asked if I could pick it up August 3 and was told it was ready. I called again on August 3 before leaving home and was again told my dress was ready. When I arrived, I was handed **someone else's wedding dress**. After the confusion, I learned that my dress was actually **not ready and the alterations had not even been started**. I received a call the very next morning saying my dress was finished. Considering it had not been started the day before, I was immediately concerned that the work had been rushed. When I returned on August 6, the fit was not right. The back was extremely tight, and the fabric was bunching around my waist and hips instead of laying smoothly. When I expressed my concerns, I was told that I had somehow gained **four inches in my back in approximately six weeks**. I was also told the dress needed to be let out again and that I would have to pay an additional $125, on top of the **$625 I had already paid**. When I picked the dress up again a few days later, the bunching was still there. At that point, I was told there was nothing more that could be done. Having wedding dress alterations done is stressful enough without being repeatedly told a dress is ready when it isn't, discovering the work had not even been started, being handed another bride's dress, and ultimately leaving unhappy with the fit after paying hundreds of dollars. I took my dress elsewhere to have the alterations corrected. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not return or recommend this seamstress for bridal alterations. My advice- STAY AWAY!!!!

I cannot say enough great things about Mr. & Mrs. Pasquale Scioli. This husband and wife team of…read moretailors is a Godsend to the City of Philadelphia. I just purchased a pair of khaki pants yesterday from a local store in another part of the city and after I tried them on again at home, I felt the pants length was just a little bit too long. I have to wear them at a new seasonal job. So I looked here on Yelp to search for the best tailors in town. And guess what business came up on the list? The Sciolis! WIthout knowing their background and expertise beforehand, my intuition took over. Without even looking anywhere else, I just said to myself I'm going here. After being fortunate to find a good parking space right across the street because it is far from easy to park on Passyunk Avenue, I walked in to a welcoming store by Pasquale and Anna. Once I told them them what I needed to have done, I tried on the pants, Anna took some measurements and within 2 hours, Pasquale completed the work! After Anna called me to tell me the pants were ready and I returned to pick it up, I could not be happier. I did not even need to try on my pants again. I knew based on his experience, he did them right. That is how much I trusted him. This is not just a highly reputable business and have done work for many across the city including mayor Jim Kenney, but those in public life have undoubtedly come to appreciate Pasquale and Anna for what they do! They are so friendly, so welcoming, so down to earth, so passionate to provide their service and truly make their customers feel like they are family. I cannot recommend them enough. Go see Pasquale and Anna. They will unquestionably take care of you. Wonderful service. Wonderful people.
