I can't say enough good things about Sara! I was referred to Sara by Lovely in Old City. I was super nervous going into my first appointment knowing my dress needed a ton of work to the top. However, my nerves quickly disappeared as Sara quickly demonstrated how skilled she really is. She was patient and listened to all my concerns. In the end my dress fit like a glove and I felt comfortable and confident all day and night. Sara also is great to work with. She's as nice as they come, responds quickly to emails, and kept to her timeline. Highly, highly recommend.

If you do not get your dress fitted at the Tailory you're crazy. Sara is an amazing and talented person who makes you feel right at home and so comfortable upon meeting her. My dress needed alterations has far as the hem and adjustments on the top. Everything worked out beautifully and Sara even added in boning so that the top was more comfortable. I felt amazing on my wedding day and Sara had a huge part of it!

I was referred to Sara by a friend and it was the best decision I made ! Sara is a real professional she has a degree In design And makes her own wedding gowns too; this is very important when it comes to making Changes to a wedding gown. She is very detail oriented when it comes to alterations. My wedding gown was a beaded bodice with trumpet bottom and lots of tule, also was nearly two sizes too big . Sara made it fit like a dream! She is very reasonability priced and fair . She made me feel beautiful on my wedding day ! I received so many compliments on my gown ! Thank you Sara !

Sara was such a pleasure to work with and did an excellent job altering my wedding gown and accessory wings! She truly went above and beyond and made sure everything was PERFECT. She is also just an all around lovely person! I highly recommend her for your special event!

I was referred to The Tailory from Sabrina Ann Consignment, where I purchased my wedding dress. Although I live in Center City, I figured Manayunk wasn't too far of a drive. Each fitting with Sara was productive and fun. She is patient and strives to get you the look and fit you want. I joked with her that now that I've had something custom tailored, I can't look at my clothes and their fit the same way again. I ended up getting another dress for a wedding altered there as well. Sara is a pleasure to work with. She provided me with an accurate estimate and was easy to communicate with. The alterations cost ended up being $675, which was a hard pill to swallow, but I was really happy with the fit the day of. Highly recommend!

Sara tailored my wedding dress in September. She did an amazing job and for a super reasonable price! The bottom of my wedding dress was pink and I did not want to lose that when we shortened it so Sara detached all the pink "petals" from my dress and reattached them to give me the look I wanted and I know it was a ton of work. All in all, she is amazing!

My wedding day was absolutely perfect and part of that reason was the amazing job Sara did on my dress! I had a unique situation because I bought my dress from Sabrina Ann's which is a consignment wedding dress shop in Ardmore. They recommended that I get in touch with Sara at the Tailory for my alterations. Sara was easy to contact via email (her preferred method for contact) and responded quickly. We had an appointment several months before the wedding and had follow up appointments (3 actually) weeks before. What I really admire about Sara is that she is not just a bridal tailor, she is also a wedding gown designer. She definitely has more than just an eye for altering dresses, she can also find solutions for dresses (including mine) that was altered more than once. Since my dress was a consignment Tara Keely by Lazaro, it needed some help with lace arrangement, a new bustle, an overall silhouette change (altered to the prior bride's shape) on top of just taking in the sides and sewing in cups. She can most certainly guide you on what looks nice and what the material can do. I especially really admire that Sara takes the time to really fix the dress. She took time to rearrange the lace so that it was even (the prior tailor had placed it a little haphazardly), and after my second to last fitting, she had spent extra time working on the bodice so it was just right for my shape. In the end, the dress was perfect because of Sara and I couldn't possibly thank her enough. All I can say is, Sara will definitely alter the dress to the best of her ability and go above and beyond for you, until she feels the dress is perfect. It's just that design eye she has ;) On top of that, her store is now located in Wissahickon (right down the street from me, neighbors!) Please inquire for her new location, as she is not in old city anymore.

The dress fit like a glove!

I'm so happy I found Sara for my wedding dress alterations. She was patient and worked with me (and my mother!) through 3 fittings to help me figure out exactly what I wanted to do with my dress. Her suggestions were on point and she offered creative options to help ensure I looked amazing in my dress. I was sure I would want to change into my after party dress right away but ended up loving my perfectly fitted dress so much that I was sad to take it off at the end of the night. Her services were reasonably priced and I was so happy with how my dress turned out. Thanks Sara!

I was referred to Sara at The Tailory after I purchased my wedding gown from Lovely Bride in Old City. The dress was big when it came in, and I was nervous! Sara did a great job assuring me that it was the right size and would be perfect after alterations. I had two fittings before picking up my dress, and Sara was very attentive to every detail she saw, and responded to questions we had or things we felt needed to be tweaked. Sara's studio is private and lovely, easy to get to with parking right outside. She talked us through how to care for the dress in the days before the wedding and what to do on wedding day. I highly recommend Sara for your wedding dress alterations!

It needed to be taken in at the chest, waist, and hips, hemmed to the correct length, and bustled. I came fully prepared with my shoes, shapewear, accessories, and even my veil so the alterations could be done properly. I was told my dress would be ready July 31. On July 30, I called and asked if I could pick it up August 3 and was told it was ready. I called again on August 3 before leaving home and was again told my dress was ready. When I arrived, I was handed **someone else's wedding dress**. After the confusion, I learned that my dress was actually **not ready and the alterations had not even been started**. I received a call the very next morning saying my dress was finished. Considering it had not been started the day before, I was immediately concerned that the work had been rushed. When I returned on August 6, the fit was not right. The back was extremely tight, and the fabric was bunching around my waist and hips instead of laying smoothly. When I expressed my concerns, I was told that I had somehow gained **four inches in my back in approximately six weeks**. I was also told the dress needed to be let out again and that I would have to pay an additional $125, on top of the **$625 I had already paid**. When I picked the dress up again a few days later, the bunching was still there. At that point, I was told there was nothing more that could be done. Having wedding dress alterations done is stressful enough without being repeatedly told a dress is ready when it isn't, discovering the work had not even been started, being handed another bride's dress, and ultimately leaving unhappy with the fit after paying hundreds of dollars. I took my dress elsewhere to have the alterations corrected. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not return or recommend this seamstress for bridal alterations. My advice- STAY AWAY!!!!

I was unsure at first since he only marked it with one safety pin. 2 out of the 3 dresses were not cut the length that it was supposed to be. I was only able to take one back to have them fix it correctly the other dress I just have to wear since the event I needed it for was around the corner and wouldn't be able to get it fixed in time. They charged me $300 for the 3 dresses which I am sorry for you to mess up on 2 of the dresses and only needed to take an off material is extremely expensive. I would recommend to stay away from this place to get anything tailored. I am extremely disappointed with the service I received. I brought in three dresses to be hemmed because they were slightly too long. The gentleman spent less than a minute pinning the length and only used one safety pin on each dress. I had a bad feeling about it at the time because it seemed rushed and careless, but I trusted that the work would be done correctly. Unfortunately, my concerns were justified. Two out of the three dresses were hemmed to the wrong length. I only had enough time to bring one back to be corrected. The other dress had to be worn as is because my event was right around the corner, and there wasn't enough time to have it fixed. To make matters worse, I was charged $300 to hem three dresses. That is an outrageous price for work that wasn't even done correctly. Hemming is one of the most basic alterations, and there is no excuse for getting the length wrong on two out of three dresses especially after charging such a premium. I expected professional workmanship and attention to detail, but instead I received rushed, sloppy work that left me with dresses I couldn't wear as intended. I absolutely cannot recommend this business to anyone looking for quality tailoring. Save yourself the frustration and take your clothes somewhere that values precision and customer satisfaction.
