I had such a wonderful experience with Armen's Custom Tailor Studio! I brought in a dress that needed to be completely redone and altered, and Armen did an absolutely beautiful job. He transformed the dress and made it perfect for a wedding. I was extremely happy with the result! Armen is truly a very talented and gifted tailor. He listens carefully to what you want, pays attention to every little detail, and takes great pride in his work. It is very rare to find a master like him today. He is patient, creative, professional, and genuinely cares about making sure his clients are happy. I highly recommend Armen's Custom Tailor Studio to anyone looking for beautiful, high-quality custom tailoring. You can tell that Armen truly loves what he does, and his talent shows in every detail. Thank you for making my dress so special! His prices are great as well! read more

To know Armen is to love Armen. What a find. It's so difficult to find good tailors anymore since it is a dying craft. I would say that Armen is a funny character and also a savvy business man. I think his prices are on par with other tailors but don't hold me to that since I don't have a lot of experience. He was able to alter 2 suits and 2 gowns for me in expedited time! I didn't even know he did womens wear. My gown was sequin, and it came out great. We brought in a tuxedo bought somewhere else, and he didn't try and push a sale of one of his own. I don't want to suggest bringing in last minute work, but if you do need it - he's your guy. Unless it's prom or wedding season, then you're just sol! All in all, I highly recommend Armen if you don't mind trekking up to Manyunk. I didn't want to go into the city and be treated like second rate citizens. Very happy with his work! read more

I have been a customer for years. Armen provides high quality customer service and wonderful tailoring on dresses and jeans.

The best tailor in Philadelphia. Harris Tweed jacket needed sleeves shortened. Very intricate cutting and stitching. Absolutely perfect job. Maybe a little pricy but worth every dollar. And he is a great guy. read more

Great suit, great guy, great experience. Not cheap, but fair, and you get what you pay for. I got a suit I really like -- for an occasion that mattered, daughter's wedding! Careful tailoring, efficient service, delivered as promised, everything worked. I spent a little more than I had intended, and I'm extremely pleased with the result. read more

I have purchased several suits, blazers, and more from Armen along with tons of tailoring! I can speak both highly of his customer service, and also, to Armen as an individual. I always enjoy going into his shop knowing that I will be well taken care of, but also to check up on a friend and have a good conversation. There is something very comforting about buying your clothes from someone you can trust. This experience is a lot different than going to a chain or a big box store. The experience is customized since he gets to know you and has great style! Thank you so much, Armen! read more

By chance I was in a wedding party that Armen supplied and tailored groomsmen suits for around 5 years ago. The suit he tailored for me was affordable and fit PERFECTLY. Since then, he's supplied and tailored suits for more than 5 of my close friends wedding parties - including my very own. Over the years I've accumulated a little under 20 suits from Armen and not once purchased outside of his store. He provides an excellent product with great pricing and truly takes care of loyal customers. I highly recommend Armen - he's the BEST. read more

Armen was referred to me by one of my buddies who swore by him. I gotta say armens shop did not disappoint in anyway. I am slim and tall at 6,7 he got me in a suit that was at his shop and was able to make good judgement on a suit without having to buy it first (troubles of being tall). His hospitality was great made you feel welcome as soon as you got into the shop. Long story short I got my suit couldn't be happier and have recommended friends and family to Armen sij read more

I've purchased suits from Armen's before for different occasions and they are all easily the best suits I own. When I needed to buy a suit for my wedding I knew I would be coming to Armen's. I bought my suit, and all of the groomsmen suits from Armen, all turned out great. Received a lot of compliments from my family and friends. I've gone to Armen a couple of times since moving to Philadelphia a few months ago. Each time he has done a fantastic job making sure everything is exactly the way I want it. The quality of his work speaks for itself, you will never go to another tailor again. My last trip to Armen's I brought along with me a couple of tuxes I had bought online. He took the time to walk me through what he liked and disliked about each of them, and helped me compare them to one of his own. I walked out of the experience not only with a perfectly fitting tux, but also advice on what to look for when I go to purchase a new suit, tux, etc. Oh, and all of this was done technically after closing time. Armen is someone who truly values his customers, and I can't say enough about the quality of his work and his attention to detail. read more

Rude with no customer service if he isn't selling you a suit or a pair of 150.00 jeans. I took a pair of jeans that were too big to Armen's last month to be tailored since he advertises himself as a "denim specialist". The jeans needed to have the waist taken in and the rise shortened in the front and back - all of this was made clear to Armen himself at the first visit. I was told the jeans would be ready in a week. Not only were the jeans not ready after a week, they weren't even touched. I walked into the store to pick them up and was greeted by an employee who told me that if I came back an hour later, the jeans would be ready. Hmmm. Why did I have to wait a week if the work only took an hour? I explained that I didn't want the alterations to be a rush job, so it was decided that I would come back in two days to pick them up. When I returned, Armen simply handed me the jeans - when I explained that I wanted to try them on, he told me there was no need. I said I'd like to anyways and he threw an annoyed look and shrugged. I tried on the jeans and *shocker * they were still huge, especially in the crotch area. I came out of the dressing room and asked him why the alterations that were agreed upon weren't completed and he said that there was nothing he could do about the rise of the jeans and that he took the waist in and that was all that could be done. I voiced my disappointment and he shrugged me off in a very dismissive and very rude manner. I ended up taking the jeans to the Plymouth Tailor in the Plymouth Meeting Mall who fixed the rise of the jeans without any issue at all and for half the price that Armen's charged. read more

Armen has thus far altered two suits and a number of shirts for me and I have been more than satisfied with his services. He is always kind, warm, and friendly, and I really enjoy chatting with him while he works. He is also very forthright in helping customers to understand his recommendations and pricing. In shortening shirt sleeves, he always presents me with two options so that I can make an informed decision based on style and price, which I really appreciate about him. I have sent several friends to him for alterations or to buy custom suits and they have all been very pleased. Others reviewers have complained about or questioned pricing. I don't know a lot about what's reasonable versus what's not, but I view a tailor like a barber or hairstylist-- I'm willing to pay for quality work and a welcoming environment. I should add that Armen's shop is incredibly busy, but he has still turned around an entire suit's worth of alterations for me in as little as three days when I had a last minute event to attend (TWICE, no less)-- and I know that he stayed after hours to do so, without tacking on any rush charges. He's just a good guy that does good work, and I will continue to use his services and refer friends to him for as long as I live in Philadelphia. read more

I almost wish I had more things to get fitted, snipped and tucked. I was in a wedding recently, and made an appointment through Macy's, where I got my bridesmaids dress. They only appointment I could get was really close to the wedding date, and during business hours. I would have had to take time off work and drive all the way to Jersey for this. Screw that. I found Armen through Yelp and took a chance since he is 5 minutes away from my house. When I called, no appointment was needed. He told me to just stop by any time after work, so I did. I was in and out of there in less than 20 minutes. Which was great considering it was an incredibly hot and humid day and all I could think about was going home to my air conditioning. Armen didn't waste any time after I got into my dress and had pinned me up, made his marks, and even a few suggestions, while being very personable and friendly. It was no problem getting my dress in time for the wedding, even if further alterations were needed. He told me though, "that won't be necessary," and well heck, he was right. Went back and my dress fit perfectly. The price was a little higher that I thought it'd be. Nothing exorbitant, but for the convenience and time he saved me, not to mention the opportunity to help support a small, local business, I didn't mind shelling out a few extra bucks. I would definitely come back here and recommend him to any of my friends. read more

Do you spend entirely too much on "designer" jeans only to have those fashionably frayed hems lose their fashionable fray when you get them altered. If that sounds familiar, then Armen's may be the place for you. Pricey jeans hemming- we're talking more than $20 to keep the original hem- but worth it if your're paying more than $150 for those jeans in the first place. They do a fantastic job, but it ain't cheap.. Would totally recommend it but here's a tip- buy from Nordstrom and they hem for free :) read more

I recently brought a new dress into Armen's for some basic alternations (the chest and waist needed to be taken in a little). It's been over 4 years since my last visit for bridesmaid dress alteration and Armen said he recognized me. I feel like that was forever ago and he must see a ton of people, but it was flattering nonetheless. The entire process was a breeze. I tried on the dress, he measured me, I paid and he told me when to come back. The dress was supposed to be ready after 5:00 on our specified day, but I gave a call around noon was able to pick it up a few hours early. He did a great job with the alterations and now the dress fits me perfectly. In terms of pricing, I'm really not sure where Armen's Custom Tailor stacks up. I just know that I trusted him with my dress and that's well worth what I paid. read more

Armen is extraordinary. My new Italian-made (he stocks in-house) suit fits me so well, and looks so good on me, all my Main Line friends believe I paid thousands for it. His needle-work is sublime, flawless stiching. Armen is a MASTER, in a World full of pretenders claiming to be "expert tailors". No custom tailor I've ever used, can compare; every stitch and seam perfect. I thought this Old-World craftsmenship died years ago. When in the shop, a customer from New York came in to pick-up two suits Armen altered. The two suits were hand-made in Italy, costing over $7,500.00. They come in from New York to avail themselves of his masterful, talented craftsmanship. How Armen came to be in Manyunk, I'll never understand, but I, for one, am thrilled he's here. Only one word describes Armen, BRAVO! read more

Armen is not only the best tailor I've ever been too, but an honest guy that goes out of his way to help his customers. Below are a few examples: 1. I needed a suite tailored for a wedding in two days. He worked hard to get it done for me! 2. If I'm not satisfied with his work (which is very very rare), he fixes it for free. In fact, he kept fixing it free-of-charge until it was to my exact liking. 3. I work late hours and a lot of times can't get to his store until 5 minutes after his store closes. However, if I call, he'll wait for me every time! I even was once 15 minutes late and he was still there. 4. He gave me an Italian dress shirt once, as a gift because I brought him so much business (he fixed all my clothes!). I highly recommend Armen. In fact, I referred a friend to Armen once, and this friend has now moved out of Philadelphia. To this day, if my friend's clothes ever need alterations, he travels all the way back to Philadelphia, to Armen's store. They day I move from Philly, I'll probably do the same! read more

I would like to start off with the fact that Armen (the owner) is one of the nicest and funniest guys I have met and it's super easy to talk to him. He works incredibly quick and can get you fitted in under 20 minutes. His shop is beautiful with tons of different jackets and suits/tuxedos. It is super organized and a very welcoming environment as soon as you step through the door. You just tell him what your looking for and he can get what you need instantly and even give great advice on other pieces of your suit you may need to look your best. I love this place and will continue to come back whenever I need a nice suit! read more

I've been a loyal customer of Armen's since I moved to Philly in 2016. He has tailored my dresses, pants, and more, always professionally and quickly. On one occasion, I needed a dress altered for an event the next day and he got it done without so much as a scoff that I needed it so last minute! I have recommended him to many of my friends and colleagues who are now also repeat customers. You won't be disappointed. read more

Armen's Tailor is the best! Ordered a 3 piece suit from combatant gentlemen for my wedding (took 4 months and they forgot the vest but that's another story...) Anyways, Went here after looking on Reddit for tailors in manayunk/roxborough for some alterations. Armen said he would hem my dress pants and also suggested that I get it tapered since i have bulging cyclist quads and chicken calves. Said it would only take a week. Satisfied that I had checked off another thing on my to do list I paid and left. Unbeknownst to me, I had left my jacket in the dressing room. I go back a day before the pickup date and they had it set aside waiting for me with pants tapered/hemmed! Awesome service. Will be using them there next time a Trunk club box arrives. read more

I had my firstborn a couple months before my wedding day, so I had very limited time to lose weight and then get my dress tailored in time for the big day. With only a few weeks to spare, I decided to bring my dress to Armen because of all the great reviews. He assured me that my dress would be ready before the big day and even allowed for me to come in multiple times to keep refitting for perfection. Not only was the dress done with some time to spare but it really did fit like a glove! Would recommend him to any bride! THANK YOU! read more

Truly the best custom tailor in the city and friend to have in the industry. I've trusted my clothing with Armen for over 10 years and he has been consistent in delivering the utmost satisfaction to his clientele; especially me! Trust me you will have no doubts in choosing Armen because he aims to please and knows your style almost better than you. His shop is truly a neighborhood gem!!! read more

Armen saved my wedding! After using an online service to order a suit I had nothing but problems and the suit was ill fitting and cheap looking. So glad I went to a real person with experience to help me out. With only two weeks before my wedding Armen was able to get me a new suit in the exact cut and fabric that I wanted, and he provided fast tailoring (less than 1 week at no extra charge). His suit fits perfectly and my wife was extremely happy. I appreciate that although he has been at the same location for over a decade, when you walk in, it is Armen himself that greets you and discusses price, time, etc so there's not any confusion. The next time I need any work from a tailor, or a new suit, I know where to go. read more

I brought a dress of mine to Armen to have the straps lengthened and he did a PERFECT job. I was nervous because I wasn't sure if the fabric I supplied was going to match but he made it work and it looks amazing. He is clearly very knowledgeable and has great skill. Highly recommend!! read more

We went to Armen for our wedding. He was amazing to work with and made the entire process so seamless. In total, he did nine suits for us (groom, six groomsmen, father of the bride, and father of the groom). He was able to get the suits ordered, in on time, and altered well before our wedding date - which made for a very calm bride. He was also great when working with one of our groomsmen who lives out of state. All of the guys looked so dapper and their suits fit better than any other suit they owned in the past. Since the wedding, all of our guys have worn their suits continuously and still receive compliments two years later. Armen has gained lifelong customers in us as my husband refuses to buy a suit from anyone else. He is definitely the best in the business and has an art for creating the best fitting suits! read more

Ive been coming to Armen for years along with my family and most of my friends. He has a great selection of suits, sports jackets and suits to choose from. You can purchase a suit and get it fully tailored for very reasonable prices. I have ran into professional athletes in here and id like to say that his reputation speaks for itself. I have purchased 4 suits, up words of 20 shirts and have had over 100 pieces of pants and shirts tailored. If something was a little off the first time around, he would immediately fix it at no cost. Most of the time we got it right the first time. I have recommended him to weddings for groomsmen tuxs and all 10 men were very satisfied. In addition to his work, he is a nice and super friendly guy. I enjoy coming up here just have a coffee with him. Armen thank you for your great work!! read more

I wrote a review about Armen a couple of months ago and for some reason it was deleted. I wanted to come back and say that Armen is still the best. I got two amazing suits from him that were cheaper than Jos A Bank and much higher quality. He tailored and fitted my suits at no cost to me. His stuff was so good I went back and bought a $300 winter coat for $120. Go to Armen before you go anywhere else. read more

Armen is as good as it gets when looking for a tailor. He is the best in town and his prices are reasonable considering the value you get from his work. I brought 2 dress shirts to him to have then tailored and they quickly became my favorite, go-to shirts. Since they fit so well and I wore them more than my other shirts, I ended up bringing him 6 more dress shirts. He tailored the body and the sleeves and I am beyond pleased with his outstanding work. I also purchased 2 suits from him which he completely tailored (Sleeves, body, waist, hem and the pant leg). They fit like a glove. Highly recommend. read more

I've brought many evening gowns and dresses to Armen, mainly because my fiancé has brought every article of clothing, from suits, to dress shirts, jeans, and everything in between to Armen, and it's top notch work. All the clothing that Armen tailors looks like it was custom made. Aside from his skilled tailor work, Armen is super friendly and personable, and makes all his customers feel like they're family. Do yourself a favor next time you have something that's not fit quite right, and stop in and check out Armen's. read more

I can't say enough about this place! I took my guys here for my suits for my wedding. He was attentive and patient even when I wasn't. Wow. I basically take back everything I said in my original post! The major alterations on my peacoat are still good, but Armen sewed up a hole in one of the pockets and the stitching he did came out almost immediately. Even worse, since I was initially so pleased with my peacoat, I took 2 of my wife's work pants to Armen to be hemmed. Both hems in both pants completely came out the first time she wore them. She had them fixed at her dry cleaner for $4 each pair (compared to the $30 total Armen charged for both pairs). I have no idea what happened, but unfortunately, I don't have confidence going back to him now. read more

Armen does fantastic work. My suits look better than anything Ive bought before and the customer service is phenomenal. When I got my first suite here, he realized that the one I had picked out had a slight manufacturing issue (that I couldn't even notice) after he had tailored it, so he made another one and gave me the first for free. I am also in sales and walk around in my suit all day, so I wear through them quickly and he offers quick and cheap service any time I need repair. I even needed same day service one day before a business trip and he was happy to help and didn't even charge extra. I come to Armen any time I have any suit related needs. read more

Armen is a true craftsman! I took a couple pairs of jeans to have them shortened with the original hem. I'll never use another tailor!

Went to Armen's last week after a few of my friends highly recommended his service. I was not let down at all. Armen promptly greeted me at the door with a smile, and had me measured and on my way out the door with a quality suit in less than a half hour. The suit itself is great quality, and Armen prices his merchandise very fairly. I cannot stress the importance of his quality service and personability. I will be back next time I need a suit or need something tailored. read more
