After 3 minutes of pinning the suit, she tells me the total for tailoring comes out to $200, as she decided she wanted to add 3 seams (whereas the tailor I went with added one). Of course, I decided to get tailored elsewhere... but it didn't end there. She tells me that she really could charge me for her labor (all 3 minutes, truly), but very kindly won't. Whatever, I ask her for an up-front quote for just the dry cleaning, and the price sounds reasonable. I come back to pick up the clothing, she says the agreed number, I give her my card. I then see on my bank app that she charged me almost double the agreed upon price. It's pathetic that, while she obviously has abundant clientele and prime real estate, she chooses to resort to greed and illegal practice. I left my wedding dress with Teresa two weeks ago for minor alterations (i.e. shortening the inner liner and adding a bustle). I went in today for my pick-up appointment. Everything looked good, until I looked at the back of my dress. There were three noticeable holes. When I inquired, Teresa immediately became hostile and said hurtful things. The highlights include "It's your fault for buying a cheap sample dress", "Your dress is too tight and you made these holes when you put it on" and "The ring on your hand made these holes when you put the dress on". First of all, one should not make a bride feel bad about wearing a "cheap" or "sample" dress. Not everyone can afford a $10,000 dress on Say Yes to the Dress. We have a budget. Second, I bought a brand new designer dress that was custom ordered with a 8-month-long wait. It was not a cheap sample dress, and I made this clear to her at our first appointment. I am very confident that the holes were created while my dress was at Teresa's shop. She did not apologize once, and I am frustrated by her dishonesty. I took my wedding dress to a different tailor. This tailor immediately confirmed that these holes are "burn marks" from a non-industrial-grade iron that should not be used on delicate materials like a wedding dress. My wedding is two weeks away, and I will be spending a lot of time and money trying to fix a perfect dress that Teresa destroyed. Bride to bride, please do not take your wedding dress to Teresa. I would not hope for this misery and drama that I experienced today on anyone else.

I'm sharing my experience in the hope that no other bride will have to go through the heartbreak…read moreand stress I endured. If you're considering trusting Oleksandra's Fashion Studio with your wedding dress, please, don't. What should have been one of the most exciting parts of my wedding planning became an absolute nightmare. For four months, Oleksandra reassured me that the dress would be exactly as I had requested, with no indication of any potential issues. She confidently promised that it would look just like the pictures I provided, addressing all my concerns with certainty. However, at the final fitting, she abruptly admitted that the dress I wanted was not possible to make. This came as a complete shock, as there had been no prior warnings or disclaimers. Until that moment, I was only met with reassurance that everything was on track, yet she failed to deliver on her promise. Let me be clear: design choices were discussed upfront. I asked all the right questions, and she reassured me over and over that the dress would be exactly what I wanted. I also want to add that I never asked for any discounts or tried to bargain throughout this process. My only concern was that Oleksandra could make the dress I wanted. There were no misunderstandings, no miscommunications--just broken promises. Oleksandra's behavior was wildly unprofessional and emotionally abusive. She constantly shifted between being overly polite and aggressive, gaslighting me throughout the process. When I raised concerns about the dress not matching what I had ordered, she would praise her work and claim everything was perfect. The moment I pressed further, she began yelling, blaming me for every issue--from my choice of shoes to my weight, despite us discussing these details from the start. She even went as far as calling me an ungrateful liar, refusing to take any responsibility for her mistakes. Her erratic behavior left me feeling cornered and manipulated. Oleksandra consistently rescheduled fittings at the very last minute, never once offering an apology. This pattern of delay felt intentional, as if she was purposely stalling to leave me with no time or alternative just before the wedding. It's hard not to feel that this tactic was used to corner me, forcing me to accept a dress I didn't want when I had no other options left. Oleksandra's Fashion Studio didn't just fail to deliver the dress I ordered--she delivered something that was poorly made and treated me with disrespect along the way. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. Your wedding dress should be a source of joy, not frustration and heartbreak. When it came to the issue of the money, Oleksandra refused to take responsibility for the dress she never delivered. Despite my polite requests for a refund, she became increasingly aggressive, giving me excuse after excuse. In one particularly wild phone call, she claimed she couldn't return the money because she had already spent it on "business expenses" and simply didn't have it anymore. She had no intention of making things right until I mentioned the possibility of filing a dispute with my bank. It was only after hearing the word "dispute" that she reluctantly agreed to a partial refund, further highlighting her lack of professionalism and accountability. From the first meeting, when there were less than six months until the wedding, almost four months passed before the final fitting, where everything escalated. With just over two months until my wedding, I was left without a dress. Now, seven months later, the issue is still ongoing with a dispute over the remaining refund. If you're a bride who values your time, your money, and your peace of mind--don't take the risk. You deserve so much better than what Oleksandra can offer.

I had an unfortunately very negative experience with United Tailoring Shop…read more I went in with a jacket needing a new zipper, simple enough. The man inside quoted me a price of $15, this seemed reasonable to me so I accepted and he gave me a receipt. The next day I got a call from the shop telling me the price would actually be $30 - it's not usually my experience that a business would call to double their quoted price, but fine. On the same call they said to come back the next day to pick up the jacket. Well, the next day rolls around and I make the trip to the shop and oh - the jacket isn't ready. They were capable of calling me to raise their price but not of calling me to say they actually needed more time. But hey, mistakes happen right? It's all okay, they say to come back on the weekend and the jacket will be ready. A few days later and they call me again to say the jacket is ready for pickup. Great, the next day I go back to the shop and again my jacket isn't ready. At this point I'm wondering if they're just intentionally messing with me. Why would they call me twice to come pick up my jacket when it wasn't ready either time? I'm still baffled. At this point I'm done entertaining this back and forth. They've doubled their price and twice wasted my time by calling me to their store when they weren't actually ready. I tell them to return my jacket but then they frantically refuse and a man in the back of the store starts working on it right away. For all the hassle of this experience I was thinking 'okay, well maybe I'll at least have my jacket repaired'. That was a foolish thought. They absolutely butchered the jacket. There's loose thread all over the place and the replacement zipper isn't aligned to the contour of the jacket at all. The bottom of the jacket doesn't even line up properly now. They all looked at me as if they were very annoyed at me - as if they weren't the ones who wasted my time and ruined my jacket. To re cap - They doubled their original quote - They called me on two separate occasions to pick up the jacket, making me take time out of my day to go to their shop, and both times they had not actually started work on the jacket - They refused to return the jacket and quickly did a hack job replacing the zipper I still don't understand why they couldn't have just taken their time, done a proper repair job, and called me when the job was actually done. Here's some free advice, don't call your clients to pick up their items if you haven't actually done the work yet. Crazy idea, I know.
